How come only like half of the cast went to the reunion? And also why was everyone mad at Eric? I always got the impression he was well liked.. I feel very bad for Ev.. i would be very hurt in that situation, and i would definately not want to talk about it on national tv.

You know that scene they showed in the previews over and over with Eric on his back having trouble breathing? I remember Danny saying that for the Real World Austin Reunion he and Melinda [U][URL="http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/the_real_world_austin/2005_Dec_05_danny_melinda"]were paid $2000 each[/URL][/U] to show up (plus airfare, hotels, etc) and I am willing to conject that the premium has gone through the roof now that some cast members think they brandish the star power of a Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. In the end MTV probably attempted to get those that made it to a certain point in the Challenge (whose price they would meet) and those who are the most entertaining to have on the show (e.g. Coral) because of the finances involved. I don't know; I seem to remember hearing that cast members are obligated to come to the reunion if they are asked and don't have a reasonable conflict. I don't think it's a matter of throwing more money at them to get them to show up; I think it's already built into their contracts. I could be wrong, though.

You would think that MTV would have wanted them there, especially CT, being 90% of the show unfortunately seems to be about him.

Yes, CT and Diem do seem like odd omissions, though to be fair I don't think Diem has done much more than Paula so far this season. I have a hard time believing MTV wouldn't want CT there, unless they're afraid of liability issues if he punches someone onset. :) I guess we won't know unless someone knows who was actually asked to be there versus who showed up. Are we likely to learn anything else about actual content before it airs? Any idea if it will be 30 minutes or half an hour?

That is strange about the Eric thing. He always seemed to try so hard to make everyone like him, too. I really hope Coral doesn't throw in the towel. She should get some bonus pay just for her entertainment value and her classic one liners. And really, WHAT does she do?? I mean, she HAS to do something besides challenges and appearances after all this time, right?? Hmmmm. Yay, Tori won't be doing another challenge! She's probably thinking she's above it now with her Miss Virginia title and all. Brad, please PLEASE take some really disgraceful pics of her so that she can have her crown removed! Please?

She probably doesn't want to do one without Brad, and he's done. I do think that even though there will be another challenge, this is probably the last one for a lot of people we've gotten used to seeing. Sort of the end of an era. I plan to enjoy people like Coral and Brad during the reunion, because it's probably the last we'll see of them for a long while. Unless they're doing this real world awards thingy. But then THAT will be the last we see of them for a long while. Still, plenty of people have said they're done and then returned anyway, like Cara. And Beth mentioned that Mark Long might be contemplating a return. I'm also surprised to see that Frank said he wouldn't do another, because I think he said a few weeks ago on MTV.com that he would.

Brad is not attending the RW Reunion/award party in LA. He has a paying job in FL next weekend. Beth was not serious about Mark Long. She was simply repeating a joking comment he made in NY during the Greatest Challenge Moments taping. That rumor has taken on a life of its own.

Man, Abe has some issues. I'm glad MTV is no longer enabling his violent behavior--wish I could say the same for others. It's a shame; he always struck me as very intelligent and thoughtful. I hope he gets some help. I think the reunion show has the potential to be very interesting and I look forward to seeing it. I hope the entire thing won't be about the vets throwing the girls' missions and the Coral incident, because while they're interesting topics and I'd like to hear what some people have to say for themselves, a lot of other interesting things happened as well. I love Coral, but she can really dominate a room, and I'd like to hear from others as well. Speaking of which, a lot of the cast members who used to post on MTV.com pretty frequently have stopped, and Beth seems to be the only one posting these days. Frank disappeared even before the technical issues, and Tori, who had been posting every couple of days, hasn't posted since. Anyone know what's up with that? I miss those two in particular--they had a few interesting things to say.

Beth seems to genuinely enjoy blogging, so I can see her toughing it out, but the others really have no reason to stay beyond maybe getting brownie points with the MTV brass.

Beth may have been joking with him or he with us, maybe he will comment.

Beth may be the only one who takes her commitments seriously, even when not included in the reunion show. She also regards it as a platform to take a few shots at the villiage idiots. Beth doesn't joke with me on business matters or much of anything else.

We found out about every fight, every gauntlet and all the gossip about the "extracurricular activity" that went down (over six months ago.) It was like a cast member left the challenge then told all, as the details are deftly accurate. Now that I think about it, the only thing that had not been leaked to this point was the Melinda concussion story and the incident with Danny (which I assume we will see tomorrow night.)
