Gauntlet III: Mexico - Premiere

[CENTER][LEFT][SIZE=4][B]Gauntlet III[/B][/SIZE] [/LEFT] [IMG]http://vevmo.com/images/gauntlet3-pool.jpg[/IMG] [/CENTER] The Gauntlet III Premiere is upon us and will be broadcast on MTV at 10:00 PM Eastern time tonight. Will the latest incarnation of the venerable Real World/Road Rules Challenge Series offer a change of course from the snooze worthy Inferno 3 that mucked up our television sets just last spring? My best guess is, Yes! Although the high water mark of the series has long since been passed, there is still some life left in this show. I suspect that BMP saw the error of their ways with Inferno and made the necessary tweaks to the formula to bring us the best show that they possibly could. I mean it has to be better, right? One thing is for sure, there will be plenty of on screen distractions to keep our mind off the actual competitions. First we have Brooke and Ev. Seemingly straight gal becomes a lesbian overnight, film at 11! Next we have CT and Diem who only seem to be a couple when the camera is rolling. They're together, and then they're not. They're together and then they're not. You get the picture. Then we have Tyler and Ryan which should be interesting as we do not see much gay male on male action in challenges (well besides the infamous ice sawing contest on Battle of the Sexes!) Better watch out Ryan, Tyler is a shark! Finally there is Danny and Melinda who have been engaged for 138 years. I decree that there should be a rule that engagements are null and void after 2 years. If you have not pulled the trigger and gone to Vegas by then, there is no hope it will happen so just return the ring and move on. Anyways, I am looking forward to the show and will have much more to say once I see the first episode and get a feel for the pace. It only takes one episode to figure out if they have the goods or if they don't. If they don't then they will drag out every last **** for 15 minutes of screen time. Lets hope that is not the reality and that this season will be full of action, hookups and surprises. I guess we will know tonight.

I'm stoked! Something to look forward to after a long first day of school. I just hope Coral sticks around long enough to give us some funny interviews or confessionals or whatever they are called on challenges. I don't care what anyone says, that girl cracks me up. Anyone see the aftershow from Fresh Meat when she was making fun of Danny and Melinda and their 'engagement'? Hilarious! Speaking of, I miss the after show damn it! I'm sure it won't be back this season either, seems like they are making budget cuts all around. I hope the premiere is an hour!

Who really ***king cares, right? Unfortunately that dynamic was the centerpiece of the entire season! It put me to sleep and made me change the channel just before I dozed, so I would not have to hear the annoying hypocritical drone of Susie's voice in the background during my slumber...

I was satisfied with tonights premier...I just get so uncomfortable when CT is on screen...I just sit there and wait for him to blow up, it is nerve wreaking.

Ughhhh.... I CANNOT stand CT. And some of these fresh meat boys have gotten a little too big for their britches. Kenny saying he doesn't know who half the people on the rookies team are? Who the ef is he? He didn't even make it on a real season of RW or RR's, so he needs to stop talking so much smack!

I am just not feeling the Fresh Meaters that make up a large portion of the Vets. I still think that entire Fresh Meat debacle was an experiment gone bad. We still don't know anything "real" about them, except the superficial challenge mode stuff that if often over the top and garish. What happened to the full on character driven reality that was once MTV's bread and butter? There is no way you are going to learn about someone that is competing with dozens of others for camera time. I don't care if they are on 10 Challenges in a row, you still will not gain as much perspective about an individual's personality as you might in one 30 minute Real World or Road Rules episode. I consider the Fresh Meat Group "cast fillers" at best.

It was a line that someone like Coral or CT could have pulled off...but NOT Kenny...hes still new to this stuff & im sure if he wasnt constantly out partying with these group half of them wouldnt know who he was either. But eh, its kenny...gotta love him =) I loved the episode though and im excited for the season. Im not too sad to see Alex go....hes not looking too great with that new hair of his and he had NO motivation what so ever besides sleeping with Paula. I also dislike CT and Diem (mostly since she was trying to act so sweet to CT to bring him out of his rage and then trying to say he never acts like this away from challenges...yeah right) I just for the life of me can't remember Tori...where was she from?
