Not sure where I come down on any of this, but just out of curiosity, if nobody gives up their privacy by being on TV, isn't it a little one-sided since a lot of people's private lives (Real World casts in particular) are invaded by this site prior to them even being on TV? It is pretty clear that Dustin Zito's world got turned upside down during production by his story hitting the internet and it seems that it appeared here before Perez Hilton ran it. Likewise, Puck was dragged through the mud here for his DUI when he has been long gone from TV. Certainly there has to be a balance somewhere, but where is the line? I don't know because I recognize that there are a lot of really disturbed people whose use of the internet feeds their malfunctions, and then there are those relatively normal people who may have interest through empathy or who just find it all entertaining in some way, or whatever.
I think as long as a RW/RR cast member does something news worthy, they're gonna be brought up as being from one of those shows. They don't get followed around by paps or have to constantly shield themselves from fans, but I'm pretty sure that as long as they've been cast on one of the shows, their public mishaps will be turned into "news".

I hope you aren't suggesting that Dustin's previous on-screen activity was private? I'd say he was "all out there" in a very public way before RW. Thus, people are simply connecting the dots.
I find it easy to draw the line. Once someone ends their run on a series, I believe they are entitled to live their lives privately, without TMZ camping out in the bushes outside their house waiting for the "carrying out the garbage in a robe and no makeup" video moment. I draw the line at exploitation, whether it be for financial gain or prurient viewer fantasy.

I am not drawing final conclusions because it is something I am genuinely conflicted about. There is a ton of information on the internet about people's lives that some, if not most would, consider private even if the law does not. I could easily see how obsessive fans could go too far with that information whether they are on or off TV and cross the line not just in sharing publicly available information but in reaching too close into their private lives.
On the Dustin issue, my thinking is not precise yet. It is, in my mind, one thing to do spoilers. I like them generally because I tend to like being able to discern the craft of reality story-telling and it helps me pick up on foreshadowing, irony, etc to know some basic story info. To me it adds to the viewing as I can watch a movie or episode multiple times and enjoy them each time in a different way. When spoilers actually result in altering a storyline, I am uncomfortable. While some may argue that his backstory was doomed to ruin his relationships in the house, I would like to think it would have been a different experience had he been the one to connect the dots as far as his real life relationships went.
As far as outlets like TMZ, sure you are right. I am thinking a little more in terms of individuals wanting to know what people are up to. I certainly think it is easily foreseeable that if one were to appear on TV, then some people may have a reasonable interest in them even when they are off. I happened upon a reality star in Walmart last year that I almost photographed to post here just because they were dressed so ridiculous like they wanted to be noticed as a celebrity pretending to not want to be noticed, but I did not because they were not alone and I felt that it would just add to this person's ego to be noticed. I wouldn't cross the street to see 99.9% of these people, but there are a couple I do like to know about generally as to how they are doing because I have genuine good-will towards them and hope they are doing well in their private lives since being on TV in the same way I would if I knew them socially. That is the line I am having difficulty drawing.

Thanks, I, for one, appreciate your thought-filled comment.

Yeah I don' think Queen is the right term. Maybe Queen B (har har har).
Guess she thought SeePlanet was a dumb name.
Ironically enough, hover over her "contact me" link and see what it directs to. I had the same exact thought about See Planet. Funny stuff. I miss the old days.

Personally, I'm surprised that Yes still mentions MTV on his twitter see how he was last seen on Battle of the Sexes in 2003. I guess MTV was a big part of his life.
More on Yes:
Yes has a Masters Degree in Architecture and a Masters Degree in City Planning From University of California, Berkeley. He is currently an instructor at UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design, teaching in the Landscape Architecture and Architecture Departments. His ongoing activism research focuses on remixing public space into new hybrid forms of community empowerment and creative expression.
He is also an anti-tabacoo activist.

I was once having a discussion with friends about the most attractive guy from RW/RR and I was saying guys like Brad, Mark, Kenny, CT, and my straight friend goes... what about Yes? Lol. So random but I thought that was really funny. Yes was very attractive though!
what does bmpers mean?
Well BMP stands for Bunim/Murray Productions, so BMPers is just a short way to describe anyone from The Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, or (surprisingly) Spring Break Challenge.
Does anyone know what Dunbar is up to?
I follow him on twitter and stuff but all he tweets are like business related stuff or something else
Last I read about him was someone saying that Johnny said that dunbar didn't get his cutthroat winnings because he did a ***** or something.
Which would explain why he's not so busy with challenges :p
That doesn't make sense to me. Dunbar had filmed the ***** prior to Cutthroat and had openly talked about it during the filming of Cutthroat. It shows him talking about it on one of the dailies in the beginning of the season.
It may be just me, but I could have sworn I saw a claritin clear commercial with Johanna in it. It sure looks like her at least. Can't find it on youtube though, maybe it's a new one.
Yes girlie, that is most definitely her, I saw that sometime on early January... or last year I think, but now it's all over the internet -_- ughh, even on youtube ads. Late to comment on this, but yeahh, she is more fit though haha.

Yeah, way before Cutthroat.
Here's a YouTube video interviewing him about Foursome.
Aw dang. that must suck for him
Do you know if hes like banned from challenges because he did a **********]
I dunno I just read that 1 post about it that Johnny said on a podcast that Dunbar didn't get his winnings for it, that's all that I heard of it.
Last I read about him was someone saying that Johnny said that dunbar didn't get his cutthroat winnings because he did a ***** or something.

Johnny says a lot of things, of which many are laughable.
Last year Dunbar appeared in an episode of the Playboy channel's series "Foursome." Michelle Noonan from BB 11 appeared on the show as well. Someone cast on the currently taping Survivor also appeared on the same show a couple of years ago. Kim Kardashian did ****, Jenna Lewis (Survivor) did ****. Ray Jay did ****. Frenchie (I Love Money) did ****.
Doing **** is not itself a disqualifier. Although I don't know the specifics of Dunbar's past contracts, some MTV contracts do require that one seek approval before doing other shows during the period of the contract. Failure to seek approval could conceivably lead to a decision by a network not to pay someone, although I've never heard of something like that happening. I've always thought that contract clause was on shaky legal ground, particularly under California law.
I've always thought that contract clause was on shaky legal ground, particularly under California law.
That was a close one because I hate to see someone earn something than not get their winnings. Which is ridiculous.

New Girl!!! Have you been hiding from me?! :) <3
Well I know its not the first commercial Johanna did, so I guess that's what she's interested in pursuing.
Dustin did **** and still got paid.
You just had to, didn't you? LOL
