Nelson would've been fine even if the champions had to compete against the underdogs lmao. I 100% believe Hunter, Nelson, and Cory was wiping the floor with Zach & Bananas at least. Darrell & CT are mixed bags depending on the elimination.
the market demographics that loved watching og's are also grown and don't really watch reality tv anymore. the online fanbase that still loves them is a small minority. almost everyone from that era, og castmembers and og fans are out of the picture now, grow up and move on
lol I know a lot of people who tuned back into all stars and 40 for the casting choices. Most of that fan base could care less about the show now since they stopped casting all the people from the past, but trust me - people def came back to see their favorites compete again.
but was 'a lot of people' enough to actually boost ratings by a lot, back to the the challenge's former popularity? in the grand scheme of things probably not
why do you guys think shows like fuller house, girl meets world, icarly reboot, etc. all ended up fading out.. in the entertainment industry, nostalgia is a good attention grabber but only for a short period of time.

That's so funny because Boy Meets World was one of my favorite childhood shows. I still watch reruns and it holds up. I watched a collective 20 minutes of clips from Girls Meets World and couldn't watch anymore. It's a kids TV show. The nostalgia was there because I got to see Cory and Shaun again, but the actual show was nothing like the original that's why I didn't watch. If I had little offsprings though, I'd love for them to watch it. I agree, nostalgia brings you in. But it also CAN keep an audience, the probably is the product has to be good. AS1 just wasn't good.

no but your initial post made a blanket statement saying that all og fans are out of the picture and the rest of of us on near need to grow up. A) we don't b) I'm just saying you can't make a blanket statement like that - first hand I saw people begin go watch this show again based on casting. I'm one person but I have to think I can't be the only one in the world who noticed that from people who liked the show.

of course the new people won't know who they are. But now they've been introduced to a whole lot of them on 40. Which means if they wanted to they could easily bring some back from 40 and others they may have connections to. It would be the same if they cast a random from a random show for a season and people get to know them on a season - the only difference is bringing an og back still makes those long time fans happy.
Nigeria would be the best international spinoff. They treat their reality stars like celebrities and if they cast from all the Nigerian shows, it would go up. Plus everyone is bat shit crazy. Their seasons of big brother it's like the whole house of 20 people are into it.
BUT, we all know why they wouldn't do it. Couldn't have the predominantly black version outdo the show on all versions.
For me id pick Nigeria and India as the best two options. India still does road rules which is crazy to me. Then add one of Brazil, Mexico or Canada and you got three good choices.
