Of course it happens, excuses are made for everything. There are people making excuses for Wes losing, just like there are excuses for CT, Kenny, Evan, etc. My point is, hardly anybody else gets discredited for being good at stuff like Wes does. I'm constantly hearing things like "Wes won a swimming based mission on the Duel, so it doesn't count" as if he has some sort of unfair advantage over everyone else.
I think it's more of people seeing how it's at such an important time for him to get a beneficial challenge. No one discredited him for his win on Rivals that he won because of swimming. It was just suspect timing for him to get a swimming based mission right before the final.
Why does Wes get discredited because he's better than people at swimming and soccer? If anything that only proves he's a good all around athlete. You never see anyone discrediting Alton and Landon for winning climbing based missions, or CT for winning physical missions, but for some reason Wes being better than everyone at swimming is an unfair advantage? Give me a break...
I never said it was an unfair advantage, i'm saying he lucked out because he wasn't the best competitor on the Duel 1. CT and Evan were better than him, and i would say Brad was overall better aswell. He just happened to get events that favored him at the right time. Wes is not on the level that Mark, Timmy, Dan(RR5), Theo(RR), and Darrell was, nor Abram, Alton, and Landon. Wes is a middle tier competitor, he's with the likes of Derrick, Shane, James, Eric(RW1), and Nathan. There are always going to be missions that play to certain people's strengths more than others. If they had a physical mission instead it would have favored CT. They can't help that certain people are better than others at stuff. You could say the same thing about Leroy getting an individual climbing mission right before the Final of Rivals.

CT and Evan might have been better than Wes at other things, but he was better than them at swimming and he earned his two victories heading into the Final. Would you have said CT lucked out if the final two missions before the final challenge were physical? Would you say Evan lucked out if they did something that he was better than everyone else at? The bottom line is, he was not given two victories on the last 2 male Duel days heading into the Final, he earned them by beating out the rest of the field.

And about Leroy, I don't think anyone had any idea he was good at climbing.
Again, you're missing the point of "suspect timing." And about Leroy, I don't think anyone had any idea he was good at climbing.
And my point is, no matter what mission they had at the end, it would have likely favored one individual more than the others. And you would be able make the "suspect timing" argument for whoever it favored.

He's not that good of a competitor, and his recent performances in final missions have and should drop him down the competitors list. He's not even a top 15 competitor anymore in my eyes.
Again, you're missing the point of "suspect timing." And about Leroy, I don't think anyone had any idea he was good at climbing.
Wes is still not a top competitor.

I'm not arguing whether or not he's a top competitor, I'm saying he deserves credit for his wins because he earned them fair and square based on his abilities.
Wes is good but there are a lot of people better than him. However when it comes to swimming, he's hard to beat. I also agree though that he won The Duel due to good timing with the swimming missions and the BS head start he got. Ironic though how he won his won challenge because he got a 2 minute head start and lost his most recent one because he got a 2 minute head start.
Oh i still give Wes credit for all his victories, he is a good competitor, but he's not as good as he thinks and fans may think.
It's impossible to be as good as Wes thinks he is :)
He could have easily been eliminated before the 2 swimming missions at the end and the Final. He didn't just cruise through the challenge only to get lucky at the end. He did well in plenty of mission throughout the challenge and won a Duel. He got himself to the Final 4 and won the last two male Duel days. There were plenty of other missions that favored certain players over others throughout the Challenge. - Reaching out favored Big Easy because it was based on weight. - Ring Toss favored Kenny because he wasn't seen as a threat. - Roller Derby favored Evan because of his skating experience and CT because it was a physical challenge. - Push Over favored the bigger competitors and Derrick because "It was impossible getting underneath him" as Brad said. There was plenty of chances for him to be eliminated earlier in the season, so it's not like the producers rigged the challenge in his favor.

They're saying that Wes got lucky in terms of mission placement for his win. Like for example, would Johanna have ever won a challenge had it not been for over half of her team being from her season and with the other team being so good that they had to start throwing missions just to get rid of their girls? Not a chance in hell. Wes can win one, he just isn't the best guy on the show.
Oh i still give Wes credit for all his victories, he is a good competitor, but he's not as good as he thinks and fans may think.
I'm a big "fan" of Wes and he's one of my favorite competitors to ever be on a challenge. I think it's hard to judge from an objective view of who's the best overall because everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. I think people trash Wes' skills more so than they do Kenny, Leroy, or whoever, is because Wes builds himself up so much that when he fails, people will make a huge deal about it because they measure him on a different level. But when someone like Mike, Leroy, Kenny, or Brandon do bad, they are given passes. And when they do good, people overrated them because they didn't put themselves on a pedestal and they may like them more. Just like how everyone is discussing how Wes sucks because of his performance in the finale, or there saying how he 'isn't as good as he thinks he is', no one is harping on Kenny's performance on several missions this season because he wasn't talking smack. I actually think everyone was waiting for that moment when Kenny outperforms Wes just so they can say "look Wes does suck, he talks so much crap and completely failed that final haha" lol or whatever people are saying...

Paula is really annoying on Derrick's podcast lol. She's loud and keeps talking over everyone.
Paula is really annoying on Derrick's podcast lol. She's loud and keeps talking over everyone.
I agree especially when they were discussing Laurel. Kenny was trying to say what he was thinking and her voice was so loud over his.
I just listened and I really didn't think she was bad, I thought she did a good job. Kenny was speaking very low though, whatever he was using for the podcast wasn't working very well. For those who haven't listened, at the end they were talking about the next challenge and Derrick heard Duel 3 for the next challenge. I honestly think he just got that from people talking online about it. Paula said she heard Gauntlet 4 and Kenny said he heard something different from those two. I would rule Duel 3 out and put the most stock in Kenny and that he knows what the next one is.

As much as I didn't like what Laurel said, she at least owns up to her own ****.

They didn't show her saying anything to Laurel or anything bad on the show during the altercation if I remember correctly. But we have seen Laurel twice now dig into people in a very malicious way that is so far past the line it looks like nothing but a spec from where she's standing. I don't think we should be commending Laurel for owning up to what she did when it seems like she isn't sorry and has done it multiple times now.
