Thanks!!
On topic, It always bothered me that Jodi never went into a duel since I too feel like there were other females that could beat here. I know the same is true for Rachel on D2, but I mean, it's Rachel...
I know this has been discussed to death but when ya look at the season and how everything went down, I would've been really surprised if Jodi went in.
First female day: Tina gets kicked off
Second female day: Jodi was safe for winning Roller Derby (a legit win)
Third female day: Casey picked Robin, probably intimidated by Jodi
Fourth female day: Jodi was safe for winning Rafty Race (legit win)
Fifth female day: Aneesa picked Robin due to their fight
Sixth female day: Jodi was safe for winning Ice Breakers (legit win)
Seventh female day: Jodi was safe for winning Around the Block (legit win)
Eighth female day: Jodi won paddle me (only questionable win because she was smart enough to conserve her energy for the second part of the race)
*Aneesa could've called her in
And then Jodi also won the Pass With Care and Stacking Stairs missions with Evan.
Jodi really didn't deserve to go into the Duel because she kicked serious *** in the missions, and out of the seven possible female Duels, she was safe for five of them and the others were Casey (scared of Jodi?) and Aneesa (picked Robin because of their fight).
In Rachel's case, she had the intimidation factor:
-Of the 10 Duels, Rachel was safe for 4 of them, leaving 6 oppurtunities to get called in.
-One of those Duels was Jenn's pick, and she wasn't gonna pull in Rachel so there were now 5.
-Those 5 were Shauvon, Brooke, Kimberly, Paula, and Diem...all intimidated by Rachel?
Valid points Morris, I never thought about it like that... I always hoped that somehow Jodi would just end up last in the call-out order, but with guys like Evan, Derrick, and Brad picking her that was nearly impossible to happen those 2 times she wasn't safe...
I actually agree with you completely. He plays the game well, especially for someone who isn't in the main circle of "friends" and without being in the main alliances. Like you said, he got CT and Evan to go in together, and call Evan stupid but the fact Wes thought out the plan and actually executed it correctly and efficiently was pretty clever.
Would I like him on my team (if he actually performed and didn't play a shady game)? Yeah, but if he wasn't on my team I'd still be pretty wary of him and what he can do. His manipulation skills, knowledge of the game, as well as what he can do physically combine for a pretty great competitor, but he probably wouldn't be in my top 10 either.
In my opinion, both Wes and Jodi got lucky in one way or another on the Duel. Wes obviously for the reasons you stated, but Jodi too because, besides having Evan as a partner numerous times, but the fact that someone else took out Beth also helped clear her path to the money. IMO, Beth was the only girl who had a physical advantage over Jodi (maybe Aneesa as well but I'd still give Jodi the upperhand there) and if Beth hadn't DQed and was able to eventually get Jodi in a Duel (especially Ascender with the puzzle), the whole finale could've been different with two different females.
In episode 14 of the Duel 1, Aneesa had said that she would've called Jodi into the Duel and saved Diem, which is where the argument between Diem and Aneesa came into play because Aneesa was left for the Duel, Svetlana was her best friend, Jodi was safe, and Diem was promised by her to be safe. But since Jodi won the challenge, Aneesa had no choice but to call in Diem.

You also have to remember that neither Jodi nor Svetlana could do the puzzle in the final. Had Diem been there against Jodi, chance are she would have won since she probably would have been able to do it. ****, any girl capable of doing the puzzle could have won.
If Tina hadn't had punched Beth, I think she would have surely been in the finals. Don't think she would've won though since running isn't her thing, unless she happened to have gotten more soccer goals in than whatever competitor.
She would've been one of the best at "Push Me" and "Pole Wrestle". She's great at puzzles so "Ascender" wouldve been good plus she can get inside peoples head "I Can".

I don't think Tina would've went to the end
And Wes...one thing I like about him is that he isn't up JEK's *** like 90% of the people on these shows are.

Tina would have had a hard time beating Jodi, Svetlana, and/or Aneesa. However, I think she could've had a fair shot!

Don't think she would've won, but I do believe she would've made it to the finals judging from the duel elimination. Making it to the end by constantly beating other girls in the duel like Svetlana did.
Lately I've been watching every challenge season again from about inferno 2, or atleast the ones I missed/don't remember bits of.
Am watching Cutthroat and the after shows on the MTV website atm and god ****, looks like they got a new commercial up.. Every 2 minutes there is a 30 second advertisement, sometimes right after that ad there's another 15 second ad.. This sucks cause sometimes the MTV website has no commercials in between the episodes.
Funny bit from ep 1 aftershow, why dunbar was camila's first pick 'cause he's cute'.

If you're using Mozilla, get the AdBlock Plus add-on. It works wonders and it blocks an any ad on any video.

Installing it right now, thanks for the hint man
Does anyone remember a challenge moment that involved Tina and Robin (must be either Battle of the Sexes 2, The Inferno II, or The Duel)? Robin says something to Tina around the lines of "you no like BARK".
It's pretty funny, my friends and I are always making fun of that line.
The Challenge is now on Hulu Plus, right now it's only seasons you can already see on MTV.com:

Re-watching "The Duel" aftershows and funny to hear Svetlana saying she was scared to do the challenge because she thought Veronica and Rachel were going to be on it.
Just rewatched the Gauntlet 2 and Inferno 3 seasons on Sunday/Monday (Life as a college grad has been cruel). Just a few comments...
Gauntlet 2:
-Waaayy better season than I remember it being!!! Even the final was a lot better than I originally thought. A little anti-climatic yeah, but good none the less. I can't for the life o me figure out Julie's thinking though?
-I really liked A LOT of the missions they had to do (tires, the pit, bicycle, etc.)...
-Cara, Susie, Ibis were painfully intolerable, but hot still.
-Really liked the Rookie team, it was way better than G3 Rookies, same for the Vets team.
-Katie was really beautiful this challenge, and I love her even more now.
-Bad, Beth, and Beyond... Really enjoyed watching her, and Timmy is hilarious...
-Poor Derrick.
-Lol Danny/Jodi drama.
-I think the Captain format should have been reused for G3.
-Kina: Jillian over Susie/Ibis?!?!
-GOOD editing.
-Liked the intro.
Inferno 3:
- A lot worse than I remember it being...
- Current challenges need more Janelle, she's the only girl that season I like now. I LOVE her... Aneesa's okay too..
- Ev was softer and less annoying then. She should be more like this now.
- Could not stand John this time around and actually liked Kenny. (It was the opposite when I first saw it, now I don't like either).
- Poor Timmy.
- Wish CT had stayed
- Lol @ Rachel and Colie (DQ Queen).
- Should have used the Inferno 1 format for eliminations.
- Cara and Susie, are vile, evil women, it's a shame Cara's so attractive.
- I don't get why production likes Susie so much.
- The final was average at best.
- I wasn't crazy about the missions, the captain's chair was okay.
- Alton is not very bright, still like him though.
- The life shield missions, pretty much destroyed the season for me.
- Liked the intro more than I did originally.
- Had to compete with two EPIC prequels, poor thing, it barely stood a chance.
- Tonya and Janelle win!
- Good Guy girls are my least favorite group in challenge history.
- Ace made the finals!!
TL;DR:
At first: I3>G2
Now: G2>>>>>>>> I3
I think since I'm more mature now, I appreciate the seasons more.
i think production likes Susie because she's funny and has great commentary. She's probably really polite to them and since she's an older cast member they probably have a little more respect for her.

I'm going to respectfully disagree here. This is the season where I really got tired of seeing Kenny on these shows. He needs to take more seasons off. I actually liked Johnny in I3...I didn't see the Key West season beforehand but he did decent in the missions and was actually a voice of reason. It's funny how things change. If there was another Inferno, no way would Johnny be a good guy.

I'm not even going to try and compare it to G2, but I know I'm on my own when I say I kind of liked I3. I thought the format made it at least somewhat fair, especially with the life shield missions--you could actually prove yourself as an individual competitor and you had not one, but two chances to save yourself from going home if you were picked for the Inferno.
I agree with a lot of the things you like and don't like (Cara and Susie, Rachel and Colie, Timmy), but I was also annoyed by the fact that multiple people never going into or ever being considered for elimination because the same person was always picked. I think part of the reason Janelle was invisible is because she a) didn't really cause any drama or stir the pot, and b) never was considered for eliminations ever. As far as Ev being softer...well yeah! How many times do you have to be bullied and backstabbed before toughening up a little?
And if you're going to celebrate people winning, what about Derrick!?!? He FINALLY won after going home on the LAST elimination twice before! Maybe it's me, but it seems like both I3 and G3 had a lot of people winning who had never won before, and were never expected to win.
Inferno 3 is the challenge I remember the least. At the time that it was airing, I was more into being involved in school and whatnot that watching reality TV sunk to the bottom of my to do lists. I'd like to see it again, but I remember hearing it's not on MTV's website even though some seasons that aired before it are. Was it really that bad?
Inferno 3 sucked because the missions sucked, there was legitimately no real, or at least entertaining drama outside of the CT punch early on, and it just wasn't that compelling of a season. Especially coming off of one of the best seasons in The Duel, this just wasn't good at all.

I thought the same thing about the life shields at first, but a lot (as in most) of the life shield missions were partnered based. And when you pair Alton with Colie, a tired Paula (dog sled mission), and make him reel in Evelyn, he may almost never win a life shield, which is what happened. I would've preferred if the life shields were distributed out the way they were in the first two infernos, i.e best time regardless of gender, and not pair based missions
Also, I was going to mention Derrick, but I felt like I'd be forgetting about CT, who I would've preferred getting a win. And I had a feeling Derrick would eventually lock down a win, and now he has three under his belt.

Alton won the first lifeshield.
Alton won the first lifeshield.
Yeah I know, that's what I meant by almost. And the mission where he won it was the only solo male lifeshield day.

My mistake. I misread your post.
I think it's been discussed a few times and it's pretty much a fact that none of us know what exactly made everyone get Tonya's back over Veronica's in the Ruins and feel like Veronica deserved to get hit... well if you watch the Ruins Replay in the video "In Tonya's Defense" Ibis, says one word in reference to it. I can only imagine what Veronica said to her in terms of that word, but I agree, no one should talk down or insult someone about anything having to do with that action.

Wow. I just watched and if Ibis said what I think she said, that is absolutely horrible. I couldn't agree more with what you said.
