The Challenge: Rivals - Evan Starkman

Brad did outperform Evan in some things on The Duel 2 like the ladder climb, the one where you had to pull the ropes for 5 rounds, and the one with the 10 keys just for example. Had Brad been just a tad bit more vocal about Rachel not helping him in the final, Evan still wouldn't have a challenge win to his name today.

And had Evan not won that one and been a Champion on the Ruins, I wonder if maybe the Challengers would have won that final, provided that Evan made it to the end--which I think he would have.

For example if Brad won the Duel 2, which is a big accomplishment, I'm pretty sure him and Tori would have retired right then and we probably wouldn't have seen Brad on the Ruins. Also, if Evan did lose to Brad on the Duel 2, I'm pretty sure Evan wouldn't have even done the Ruins considering he'd be on a team with people like Nick, Dunbar, Danny, and Chet, and he would be on the opposite team of all of his friends, Johnny, Kenny, Derrick, and Darrell.
I must say Evan is the luckiest guy in challenge history, it just seems like everything happens perfectly for him. And I suppose its also a lot of his knowledge of how to succeed in this game. 1. On the Duel 2 CT punched Adam and went home 2. He manipulated Mark and Brad to vote Landon into the Duel 3. Landon was injured in his Duel against Brad and DQ'd forcing him to lose 4. Brad cramped up in the final challenge which caused Evan to pull ahead 5. He went to Thailand for The Ruins for 5 weeks, competed in 10 challenges that looked like a lot of fun (except the tire challenge), never had to go into The Ruins, got stay in a sick 4 story house, and walked away with 50k.
Landon didn't DQ in his duel with Brad.
2. He manipulated Mark and Brad to vote Landon into the Duel.
Evan, Mark, and Brad have all said that they were in an alliance since day one and they were gonna vote for Landon no matter what, Evan just made a ******* comment which made him look like an ***. No manipulation happened.

Don't forget that although he had a hernia(?) on FM1, he and Coral won many challenges I believe. And even Rachel said on the Duel 2 that Evan is a beast.
I agree Cryssy, it's by no luck that Evan wins these things. He's a beast mentally and physically.Yes, on Fresh Meat, him and Coral won a lot of missions and on the Duel 1 he won more missions than any other guy there.

Evan won 5 challenges on Fresh Meat with a relatively average athlete as his partner as well as the individual success on the two Duel seasons as you just pointed out. Brad was only the top competitor once throughout the course of his 8 challenge appearances... nothing really impressive about that. And with all this hypothetical talk about what would've happened had Brad not cramped up or had Rachel for a partner for the end of the finale on Duel 2... Brad really only made the finals because of some pretty biased judgment calls from TJ Lavin in his Duel against Landon in my opinion. He was lucky to even be in the final period.

Do you think that is luck winning 5 missions in fresh meat 1 and 5 missions in the Duel 1? He could be a jerk sometimes but he is a good competitor.
Evan could be annoying sometimes but at least he has the guts to recognize that somebody is better and stronger than him, he has said several times that CT is a beast and he doesn't want him in the finals because CT can beat everybody. In one of the Derrick's podcasts he was praising Tyler and he said that Tyler was the only one who had a chance against CT.

He won 5 of the 10 challenges on Fresh Meat before he was sent home and that was a 12 team game. He won 6 of 13 challenges on Duel I before going home with 10 competitors. On Gauntlet 3 his team dominated the whole challenge and lost the final through no fault of his own. Duel 2 was probably his least dominating performance with Landon and Mark trading wins almost wire to wire. If luck were on his side all time, he would have won them all.

Oh yeah, his dance after winning the spelling Challenge was awesome! I still found him one of the most interesting person from all past Challenges. He was the reason why I liked the Duel 2. I didn't think that he will be back after Ruins...
Gotta love team Evan, you guys are all making me so proud. <3
[strike]nehimiah[/strike] Nehemiah was responsible for both DQs that his team has had, he was over the line in the first challenge, and his foot touched the third hammock. Maybe Evan has a huge achilies on his side.
I listened to Derrick's podcast, and Nehemiah and Wes basically say that Evan never had a "can do" attitude on this challenge and basically wanted to go home. So sad and weak on his part, because your bringing down a partner as well. I miss the Evan who played hurt in that mission on FM. Now it seems like hes fine with getting his apperance cheque.

In fact, it was mostly Nehemiah that caused their challenge losses (so far at least).

I had not been able to understand why Evan wanted to try and take out CT himself. This goes against the strategy principles he's used in the past. He always wants to put up another person to take out the competitor he feels is the biggest threat to him in a final challenge. He has never made an attempt to go against them on his own. So in this instance it just didnt make sense to me. Now that Nehemiah said Evan was complaining about being there because he wanted to go home to be with his g/f and go back to school, I can see why he would put himself at risk.

The challenge would've been better off without him.
Then his *** should've just left then. The challenge would've been better off without him.
That's not exactly what they said, they didn't say he wanted to go home just because he missed whatever but because he knew that he couldn't win a final with CT there and according to Wes he would come in last place in the finals because him and and Nehemiah are not long distance people and it kind of makes sense, if he does miss home then there is no point of staying there and having no chance in a final with CT, I guess he would feel that he wasted his time, but if he takes a risk and tries to take out CT then it would be worth it to stay because now he can stand a chance in the finals, it's risky though I would put Leroy/Mike 1st but I guess Evan feels impatient and is having like a he goes or I go type of attitude.

Since then, he's tried to avoid elimination rounds at all costs (until Rivals).

Wasn't that basically a long-distance race with some random stuff thrown in there?
Every final mission except for G3 and the Island were long distance missions and Evan has always done well on them. We don't know if he's done better than the rest of his teammates but he did win on the Duel 2 and Ruins which both were long distance finals. Evan isn't my favorite person, I actually dislike him, but he's one of the better players.

Besides what Wes was saying Evan seems to also doubt his own abilities if he thinks he can't win a final with CT. And they may be right, if they do have some 10 minute bull **** elimination like Laura/CM had it could be a toss up and that's way easier than running for hours. I agree with what Wes was saying if your partner feels like quitting then there's not much you can do and if you're in the finals with CT, I doubt Evan would even try his hardest, Nehemiah is in a bad position.
Does anyone know what happens next week between Evan and Nehemiah? They didn't seem to work together well in the first place, and I never see Nehemiah hanging around Evan hardly (actually I hardly ever see Nehemiah this challenge). Did Evan try to go through with the D-Day plan where he throws the challenge, and Nehemiah didn't know that was the plan or something?

I believe that's why Nehemiah calls him a ***** and Evan says he would like nothing more to tell him off.
I believe he does. I'm sorry but throwing a challenge without the consent of your partner IS a ***** move, I would be ****** off. It's too bad, because I was actually starting to like Evan this challenge. Sometimes I wish the people would just play the game straight up, and not come up with these "plans".

But, I think Evan is jealous of CT in some ways, that's why he wants to go against him and be the guy to do, so he can say I sent home CT. It failed on the Duel and I doubt it will work on Rivals. Cara Maria said Evan had ulterior motives for voting himself in against CT. Nehemiah on Derrick's podcast said Evan lacks confidence and that's why no girl in the house wants to hook up with him. Nick Brown on the Duel 2 has said the same thing that Evan was excited to see CT leave the house.
