I cannot get over how bad that picture of him is.
I cannot get over how bad that picture of him is.
Hey, don't hate on Evan. At least he's a great competitor, funny now and then and isn't too bad on the eyes. :P

I just do not like the way he plays the game. Speaking as a heterosexual dude, I don't get butterflies in my stomach when I see him :P Also, Kenny is funnier.

And no, I think Kenny tries too hard for me, I much prefer when Evan does his "before-the-finals" recap of the finalists.
I personally love Evan, and always look forward to him. I feel like the biggest slack he gets is the Coral deal. While I wouldn't have handled the situation like he did, I'm sorry to say, she was a weak link on that team when they started throwing the missions. He's there to play a game, and is obviously good at it. Coral did the same in her days of glory, but her time was up and the tables were turned on her. It was obvious to me she was afraid to face Evelyn, and used the "betrayal" as an excuse to leave. If Evelyn left when she was supposed to face Coral, she would have heard **** about it to her grave. All in all, I think Evan is challenge gold, and gets invited back for a reason. He's also an *******, why act surprised?

I never perceived Coral as weak, the biggest thing she had against her was the overtake of new competitors so she didn't have a good group of friends who know what she's about. In my eyes, she had every right to be pissed off and want to leave the challenge, not because she was "afraid" of Evelyn, but because she had been betrayed twice, once for getting put against Beth and then getting put in against Ev. And I'm sure all the talk of "trimming the fat" would **** anybody off when they're considered "the fat", especially when there's people like Casey, Diem, Robin, etc. getting by just fine. And Evelyn did the same thing to an extent on the Ruins. She felt like she was being betrayed by her team by being pitted against her friend when she made it very clear that wasn't how she wanted things to go, so she also left the challenge by giving KellyAnne the Ruins victory. Now, to get back on topic, over time I think I started disliking Evan through association with Kenny and Johnny, but after re-watching the Duel 2, I actually really like Evan and I greatly prefer watching him with Kenny and Johnny.
Evan has to be my favourite competitor on these show. He is Canadian for one, secondly he is hilarious and lastly, the guy is a beast.
LOL!!!! And no, I think Kenny tries too hard for me, I much prefer when Evan does his "before-the-finals" recap of the finalists.
Hahaha! Yeah these are always funny! And like others have said, I wasn't always crazy about Evan myself, but he's grown on me and I feel like h exercises a good deal of restraint on his challenge appearances. He's skipped 2 in a row, which is a huge rarity for some nowadays. (<<< Wow, did not know that was an actual word, thanks Chrome!)
I expect this might be his last even if the Challenges get renewed. He's hosting some sort of TV show so I expect he will go more in that direction now.

A lot of people "retire" but come back. It seems like a good idea, but they miss the competition/money. Where else can you get an opportunity to party in a house and make a ton of money in a month? Unless they have a serious new career they usually come back. I am not sure the extent of what Evan is doing. But Wes retired once too, a lot of people say that than come back. Especially if you have a good chance to win each time you go, and if you happen to have a huge ego (Wes) I felt the same way when i stopped playing sports. I wanted to play/compete anyway i could whether it be intramural or rec league. It's hard to stop competing when you love it.
And that's the downside. Someone you like being paired with someone you completely dislike. What to do, what to do? Hmmm.
Throw the challenge to your buddies, obviously. I haven't liked Evan since Gauntlet 3, doubt I'll start now. Let the over the top confessionals begin....
Was anyone else thoroughly disappointed that Evan didnt attempt to jump to the zip liner? The Evan from Fresh Meat who gave it his all and even hurt himself competing would have never done that.
He didn't jump because he didnt want to hurt his baby...remember, he's pregnant according to CT. But yeah, you're right...this new Evan is *****, but then I see his point...it's a girls day, and why would be want to hurt himself and lose a chance at the finals?
True about it being a girls day. However, its disappointing, Evan used to be the most kick *** competitor!
I agree that something seems a little off with Evan on this challenge. However, based on challenge wins, elimination round wins, and being the leader of the most successful alliance in the history of this show, I think he's the best male competitor of all time. I don't get his strategy to be the one to take out CT.
I guess he didn't want to risk getting hurt on a girls day, but I think he should've tried just to see how well he'd do. I was surprised that at the end of the episode that he was willing to throw himself in against CT. Usually he panics for elimination rounds, so it's brave of him to even consider it.
I think it's really brave to throw yourself in Jungle against CT. No matter that he didn't jump. What's the point to jump on girls day and hurt yourself? He is smart as always and I'm very happy to see him on this season. #TeamEvan!

Back when the Duel 2 was airing, Team Evan only had about 3 members here on Vevmo.

Other times, I have been a fan of him.
JEK wasnt trying to get rid of Coral...Johnny was long gone by this time....it was mainly the vet girls and the vet guys, but not Johnny.
I think Evan is gold for MTV. EVerything what he says become quite. It's awesome.

I'm liking him this challenge as well and I find him funny. Kenny on the other hand...
I think Evan is gold for MTV. EVerything what he says become quite. It's awesome.
Ok I've read this 30 times and I can't figure out what's going on in the 2nd sentence. Anyway I agree, he is gold for MTV. He has it all. He's the best when it comes to strategy, challenges, and humor. I actually think he's the funniest guy whenever he's on a challenge.
I don't find Evan very funny...and I couldn't stand him on the Duel 2...but I actually do like him. :)

Kenny on the other hand...
Yeah I'm currently re-watching the Duel 2 also, and I feel that's the challenge that made him a star. I feel he doesn't have much screen time on this one, because the cast is so big. As for Kenny, I usually like him better when he's on a challenge with Evan.

The only reason he was even close in the final for D2 is because he got a little bit ahead of Evan on the part that mattered and so didn't have to wait as long for Rachel as Evan did for Brittini.

A few things on that D2 final challenge. Brad was injured after he and Rachel partnered up, and it was mentioned on the show, so that's part of the reason Evan was able to catch up. However, had Evan not climbed that pole with the bike, Brad probably wouldn't have passed him anyway. So he would've got Rachel and smoked everybody.
