The problem with BMP's casting process is that they just cast instagram models and people who look good.  They pay NO attention to personality.  Some of the cast even admit they got randomly approached to be apart of the show without going through a real casting process.

It's not only BMP, it's Reality TV in general. From Big Brother to Bachelorette all around the world. It's the same thing in France, where back in 2000/2001 when real tv started, they chose "everybody-looking" people and most of the cast were over 25 back then. They were often the most interesting ones. Same in UK with BB too. Apparently, it was identical with The Real World & The Challenge back in the 90's-early 00's.But since 2009-2010 in all those shows and all over the world, they started to cast younger and younger people who have nothing else to offer but looks and hook-ups. Dario Medrano for instance is the best example for this (despite I like him the most). Hence, since they are so young, they didn't have enough experience with life, to be interesting. Just look at Shane Landrum. He went through sexual orientation quest, homophobia, life struggles, divorce, etc... and on Invasion at 33, his personality shone throughout the whole male cast who were all under 26. He is a more interesting character than Cory or Hunter for instance, because he has a actual relatable personality, and his experience at life strenghthen it a little more. That's what we are missing today. I do like somebody like Nelson, but I don't relate to him, at all.

That's why all these shows sucks in quality, not specifically by the format but by the cast who are so "perfect" physically but so bland in the inside.

We disagree--the biggest issue with The Real World is they stopped casting people 18-20.  The whole point was watching them grow up and learning from the experience.  Then we got to watch them continue to grow on the challenge.  But, you make an excellent point as to why old-schoolers are great fits on The Challenge.

Pretty much this it was interesting to see how people who were 18-20 at the time matured 5-10 years later and their whole evolution. Both have fantastic points but i agree that RW not casting 18-20 years old is part of the problem. Plus they are way more reckless and reckless sometimes means more viewers. Most of the people who they cast nowadays are already pushing 30 if not they look like it and they are just using the challenge to boost them up in life or get their 15 minutes of fame. I mean it was always that way but at least the previous casts from previous eras took effort to change their game each season they got casted on. Nowadays most of them are wallpaper.

Unless you're Coral, if you quit you're probably not coming back.  Even Coral hasn't been back though I'm sure they'd take her.  People just want every black male to be on the show.  Greg couldn't follow the rules on his show.  He wasn't going to be on The Challenge.  Will's best known for dating Janelle.  Enough said.  Dave was the only guy on that cast that had potential to be on The Challenge more than once or twice.  Now, I'd teak Will or Greg over Nick Brown but I highly doubt Will was interested and Greg probably wasn't considered.

will's best known for his rivalry with greg actaully. but that still proves kvm1977's point. if Greg was never on the show neither would will.

KVM you were saying? Biggrin

isn't he signed with them? anyways he still probably was never really into the challenges after rivals 1.

No it doesn't. Will still would've been entertaining without Greg so...

Also the novelty of being real is wearing thin. Back then, reality tv was closer to reality, although I'm sure producers still played a bit into creating drama. Now, people want to be THAT guy/girl, so not only do you have producers manufactoring drama, you have the reality stars manufactoring drama to get their 15 minutes of fame. It's less authentic. Loses it's appeal.

His season. Watch it. He didn't just fight with Greg.

You're absolutely right on this one regarding The Real World..

He was on board to do Seasons 2 with Joey & Brianna; they couldn't get another girl to say yes.

Kim could have been the next challenge star. You'd think they would get their shit together with living conditions after so many people got turned off during The Ruins

All of their combined IQs equal 73.

HB you can scatter. Kim is better than that overrated snooze Brittini

Brittini was a Challenge beast, but she was snooze fest. Kim was competive enough to last a bit and brought some stroyline.

The only one and done challenge beast I recognize is Cooke.

All I remember about Kim is being shook and hiding when Bri went "ghetto" on her *** ;/

Ugh I just rewatched the video and remembered what a ***** Sarah was. Glad we never saw her on the challenge

I still believe something happened with Kim on The Ruins more than her just hating the conditions. Nothing like the Tonya situation but I think there's more to the story.

She's been on record and defended Kenny, Evan, and Johnny. I truly doubt anything went on.

Also imagine being in a fun house enviorment on Duel 2 to being locked in the house for 6 weeks on The Ruins. I bet there were definite negative feelings about production from many cast members, hence why it was their last show.

Yeah, I knew Kim had the guys' backs on that one.  I always thought something happened between her and Brad on that challenge.
