That cast would be so so bad. I think they should do an "ALLIES" challenge and put the pairs on opposite teams. Make the incentive something about that if you and your parnter both make it to the end, you double yoru winnings. You could have male/male, female/female and male/female pairs - it wouldn't matter.
If they do a Diehard season, they should either let the viewers vote for the fans only or both of teams at the same time. It would be dire to only let the viewer vote for the alumnis....the viewer's choice of the veterans would get pretty unbalanced as opposed to the fan site. It would be fairly uneven teams.
IMO, by letting the viewer having a chance to vote for fans, you give the viewer already someone to root for or have "looking forward to watch" favorites on the fan site going into the Challenge, which means the viewer is already invested in them or know their history/back ground and you have a bigger pool for future challenges if some fan from the list doesn't get cast by the viewer or some diehard is a complete disappointment. It would not be a prodution mistake. It would be way better to know why these selected are diehards and with a poll, the viewer can decide the ones that represents him/her the best. However, Lurker did a good job finding some people that would also be on my list, but there are definitely some people that are missing...
