This may be one of the few times I'm actually wondering who is going home. Every time I see a promo and then an elimination round I know who's winning based on who's shown in the promos. Excited for tonight :)
I wonder if there'll be a TBC tonight.
There are 3 episodes left according to Devyn's twitter feed so with only one elimination left, we are likely to get a TBC, as they almost never show the final for 2 full episodes. My guess is they hold the elimination round until the start of next week's episode and then we get about a show and half of final challenge.

I thought there's only 2 episodes left, maybe she was talking about the **** they should have shown. I think they'll start the final with like 15 minutes left in tonight's episode.
If they're only 4 teams and 3 go to the final, (right?) then doesn't that mean this season only has 2 episodes left?
I never understood the 3 teams go to the final scenario. I always thought that had potential to go badly depending on the eliminations. If the final 4 teams only had two people in them then would they still have done eliminations until 3 teams were left? That would have been anywhere between 10 to 13 episodes of eliminations and 3 episodes for the final/reunion/bloopers. However at the final 10 which apparently they'll be at this week, if they said only 10 of you would make finals... that could have potentially left us with 5 teams in the final.
Does BMP have to let MTV know how many weeks the season will need before filming, or do they decide after the filming has taken place? TJ saying only 3 teams would make it to finals made the elimination numbers a lot less concrete. Imagine this show going on for 3 more weeks before we get to finals.

They could have worked 2 missions and 1 elimination into 1 episode then 2 elimination with 1 mission in the next episode if needed--they did 2 elimination already once this season. The edit would have just been different not the number of episodes.
SkylarGuy23,
I am pretty sure they have done the final three thing in the last few Challenges because it basically means that each of the teams will come out of the Final Challenge with some sort of Cash prize. I think it was probably a smart decision on MTV and BMP's part because in the past the competitors who lost the last Elimination round before the Final Challenge clearly beat themselves up about the situation because they were so close to getting a chunk of the prize money (For example on Battle of the Exes it was Mark and Robin in this position)If losing in the last elimination round wasn't a bad enough position to be in to begin with, think of how terrible it was for the competitors on Rivals (Mike and Leroy & Jenn and Mandi) to get 3rd place on the Final Challenge experience the majority of an extremely strenuous and insane battle in 26 mile long Challenge race in freezing temperatures only to come out with nothing but the experience in the end...That would be an awful way to leave a Challenge! I think when the competitors complete the final challenge it is something to be proud of and celebrate, whereas if you completed the entire final and lost that would be a hard pill to swallow!

Thanks! :-)
I don't think it was ever only 3 teams make the final, just the top 3 make money. This is the last challenge, so if half of Brooklyn or SD go home tonight 4 teams will make the finals. Also I really hope that JD and Devyn get eliminated (as much as I like Devyn) because a final that includes JD, Devyn, and Sam automatically makes this season invalid. Hopefully the elimination tonight is Jonna/Derek vs JD/Devyn, because those are the least proven 4 left in my opinion.

How have Jonna/Derek not proven themselves? They did extremely well in the Abandoned Ship mission, hell they inflated their raft before any other team (with only two players, mind you). In past missions, they've performed well and have always been one of the top 3 teams. I definitely think people sleep on these two.

People just don't like them

People do sleep on these two, but it is for good reason. Derek is an average competitor at best. A Derek-Jonna team has no shot at winning this game.
And I absolutely love them... Go figure.
I like both as well. I think Derek's done a great job this season which shocked the hell out of me.

Based on what? Both are in very good shape and should have no problem handling the endurance aspect. The only problem they face is if they have to go into a physical elimination round. Cancun would have no weak link (Sam, Devyn or possibly Trishelle) like the other teams. They don't have an elite physical player but you're only as strong as your weakest.

I said least proven, not unproven. SD has won 4 team eliminations (1 was fixed but still) so I give Frank and Ashley a pass, Chet and Sarah have won 2 eliminations and are the reason their team is still here, and Dustin has won 2 eliminations (even though Trishelle still sucks). JD/Devyn haven't really won a real elimination yet (Easy quit), and Derek/Jonna haven't been in yet. That's all I was saying.

You could also argue though that Jonna & Derek have been the most consistent of any of the pairs with the possible exception of Chet & Sarah.

This. We haven't even seen these two in a final to judge upon and based off of the logged out mission they have endurance (Jasmine was the only one having trouble).

Why should they go into an elimination if they're a top team? I love my elimination rounds, but no team should want or have to go in just because they have yet to go in. Their team has won 2 missions (though one slightly fixed) and have yet to come in last.

I agree with that, although SD has only done bad on 2 challenges and 1 was an eating competition. I think they're both solid competitors and will get 2nd if Brooklyn doesn't lose Devyn.

Then what other pair should go in?
Then what other pair should go in?
No idea, all are solid competitors (except for Devyn, I still love you though :D).
Then what other pair should go in?
I'm not sure anyone "should go in". Devyn & JD are the only two I don't think have proven anything but if Brooklyn wins today or even if they simply don't finish last I wouldn't say they "should go it"--though Chet & Sarah should want them to go in and go home
I'm so excited to see tonight's ratings. They should be great considering the 121212 concert and Barbara Walter's 10 Most Fascinating People on the same time. It's not like anybody's watching those things anyways.

American Horror Story & CSI are still a problems
I'm always torn on which to watch first--AHS or the Challenge

I don't know what JD, Trishelle, or Sam have done to prove they are solid competitors except JD can swim, Trishelle can memorize some shapes if her partner stays under water for minutes at a time, and Sam can swim and run over a girl half her size. It's really hard for me to take this season seriously with at least 7 rookies (1st or 2nd challenge) making the finals. In any normal season, only Frank, Zach, Dustin, Sarah, and maybeee Jonna would have a chance at making a final. Whatever it is what it is I guess.

I think that's fair
Depending on format Trishelle could make a final as well even though I think she's useless. Someone would have to carry her through a final. Chet possibly could--same with Ashley. I'd be fine with running a final with Jonna, Ashley or Sarah--I think they can all hold their own.
