Nah. Murder House was boring at the start of the season. I didnt get into it for about 3 episodes. Coven is hands down the best season. The funny moments mixed with the dark history of voodoo made it perfect. The concept for this season is original, but I still didnt like the first episode.
What the **** lol how was Murder House boring?? No way in **** was Coven the best season hahaha. Asylum/Murder house were the best seasons so far. I have high hopes for this season & I for one don't think they will stick with the documentary interview format for the whole season. Be prepared for some twist & turns.

Hotel was horrible. Freak Show was way too much and didn't have much of a story. Coven was good in the beginning but the ending was pure shit. Murder House and Asylum were ******* gold.

I actually agree with this. I think they should've kept Twisty for the whole season. There was so much they could've done with him. And like you said there was ALOT going on storywise. I think had they had one big plot and only a couple of smaller ones it would've been a better season overall.

I never thought Coven was horrible or anything just not on par with the first two seasons. I was expecting a season involving witches & voodoo to be scary as ****, but instead they went with a storyline of witches being chosen to attend a special school (reminds me of harry potter to be honest lol). Guess in the end i was really just disappointed in the direction they went with that season.
I really want to know what direction this season is gonna go in. The promos are all soooooo different. The one that stands out to me is the one that looks like an old hollywood movie with the women being taken under water by something...like how does that even tie into Roanoke

But with everything we've seen I think that this season is either gonna be really ******* messy like Freak Show/Hotel or Really good like the first season supposedly was(didn't watch them). No In Between.
They are not going to stop the show anytime soon. It's always at the top for ratings and they are always nominated for so many awards. Ryan Murphy stated he will do it for decades if they allow him.
Of all the ideas out there..Roanoke? That makes me think they have some big ideas in store because there are so many other directions I can think of off the top of my head

Finally watched the premiere, and even though I didn't like the whole documentary aspect, the story as a whole was pretty good. I hope there's a purpose for why it's been done this way, maybe they start getting haunted during production of the documentary or something because right now it feels unnecessary. That said, this was such an improvement from the last two seasons.
It feels like RM is actually taking a step back and stripping it down with a twist. Like so far we have been introduced to 3 characters!! thats it!! that's why the first episode felt so great to me. It was focused and told a simple storyline that held my interest the entire hour. It wasn't like Freakshow or Hotel where they are just showing off the wacky and colorful and crazy makeup and hugh *** casts of celebs that RM fawns over. It felt mature. He wasn't pandering to the lady gaga or jessica lange fans. It was simple and creepy. The "true story" part is pretty unique to me... even if it doesn't turn out to be a twist, I still like that they took the risk by doing something that hasn't been done in scripted tv yet. And like Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson playing the same person? perfection.
Most complaints i've been seeing are that no one knows what Roanoke is and that it's not scary since we know who lives based on the documentary. I'm pretty sure they won't leave everyone in the dark about Roanoke... the main characters don't know about it either so i'm sure they will figure out the story themselves along with the audience in a future episode. Even if they don't... um google is one click away. Also who says the only way to make a show "scary" is by killing off its characters? lolwut? some of the best horror movies have little to no one dying (Conjuring?). Horror stories can still be scary knowing that the characters survive... smh
I'm definitely interested to see where they take it.. from the season preview, it looks like it only shows footage from the first 2-3 episodes, so maybe there will be a big twist. I would love if they did like 3 different My Roanoke Nightmare stories (1-3, 4-6, 7-9) and then the finale will have the real life characters come together and face the colony one last time or something ahahhaa
I feel they have to change it; There are way too many starts stated to come back this season to keep it with just one family

Murder House was well written, it just took me a minute to get into it because Coven was the first season I watched. and I liked Freak Show too
