The dark would be more interesting from a competition stand point -- adds even more of a mental component to it because the ocean in the dark is scary af. It just wouldn't really translate that well to tv imo.

Unnecessary two-parters to some of these challenges lately have been so odd -- like the stadium musical chairs on AS4 did not need a random puzzle part, esp when the adventage in part 1 wasn't good.

I like when they try new eliminations and I like when they do eliminations in a different location than just the generic arena...but idk if this sounds like something that'll translate into great TV, I'd have to see it.
You can see a slight variation of it on Survivor called Last Gasp, except that it involves players staying under a grate and tryng not to drown as the tide rises, but it's both endurance and mental.
This is a perfect challenge to me. While on some level you have to be comfortable in the water, you don't have to be a good swimmer and (as has been noted) it's ultimately mental more than anything.
While on some level any challenge you come up with with favor one person more than another, it's not overly difficult to come up with ones that are fairly neutral. I'm not even bothered by challenges favoring one person, it's just that when a competitor seems to draw a type of challenge that favors them multiple times, things can't help but be perceived as rigged.

This, and it's completely normal/natural. It's like people who are afraid of heights; they can work to get more comfortable with it, but it's never going to be something they love. I know people who fly all of the time for work, but still don't like it and will drive whenever possible.

Seeing the latest All Stars 4 and how Cara tells Laurel that Nicole is playing her and how that was shown to be 100% true, it makes it all the more unhinged that Laurel throws Cara into the first elimination on 40 and later brings up Cara's past abuse. Cara obviously needs to just completely separate herself from Laurel, but also I really hope Laurel seeks the help she clearly needs.
