I think playing for future seasons is dumb because that's not promised, but they've severed all ties with all but a few people. And, Asaf and Olivia cannot save them.
They are such bad players it's crazy. They have the right tools but always mess it up for themselves
season 40 would be cute and feel right with 40 people. Spies lies and allies had 36 people so whats another 4 people for an iconic milestone season. They have plenty of people to choose from. Hopefully most of the cast is icons and not people who have only done 1-3 shows.
No icons are agreeing to the film time and they aren't gonna pay for them. Cutting the film time in half would entice more names, save tremendously on housing, food, staff, etc. However, they'd rather drag a season out way longer than necessary with cheap names that no one cares about or is invested in rather than deliver an iconic season.
This show wants to be taken serious as a competition show soooo bad, but this is why it never will be. They don't let them compete fairly, they let the goon squad interfere. Season after season this is an issue and they don't fix it. They don't understand how to sit players out to make team comps fair. They let 3 people compete in a team against teams o; 2 with zero disadvantage. The literally so stupid, it's embarrassing. Like how do they continue to produce this with zero intelligence.
