It's really not even the fact that she's innocent. But you would think she ran over their dog and laughed in their face about it with the amount of hate that they have for her. At worst, she can just be annoying and contradict herself. But they legit just hate her as if she personally did something to them, but most of them never actually had a real problem with her but still hold all these negative feelings. And when they have the chance to explain their side, they keep it very vague and the question still goes unanswered.
I suspect they realize that the reasons they hate her are stupid and miniscule, so they keep it purposely vague without really going into deep detail.
