According to nurys on the podcast, amber had some family issues and "kinda wanted to go home"
I can believe that since spoilers on this site early on said she was struggling with something and was on the verge of quitting multiple times and had to be talked into staying. Maybe that's why Nurys wanted Amber, thinking she would just give away an easy win and then Amber's pride kicked in feeling like if she went down, Nurys will have to earn it.

Yes. multiple people have been 5-1 or even 5-0 by there second season. What distinguishes amber is the fact that she won a season.

nany is going around , guilt tripping people over her moms death to stay outta elimination but ambers grandma just died and you didnt see her use her grief to stay out of it. (Although it wouldnt work because they seem to dislike amber for whatever reason).

She really is early Cara Maria 2.0 just better and prettier. They really don't even need to call Cara Maria back they found her replacement so she really isn't needed any more honestly.
