Statistics isn't everything and for a network that presents itself as diverse and one of America's biggest (atleast used 2b) it's a huge setback.

I don't know if anyone has explained it to you correctly, but America isn't the only country in the world. Especially since this show has/ or is trying to become international. So when people say representation, they mean of the world and what it should look like. Also, representation is needed so that all groups of people can know that they matter, and are important.
