Flora is probably the best castmember ever to be on The Real World. She was and is crazy. For her alone we need a Homecoming.
So Flora who used a woman's color against her as an insult is the greatest castmember ever, but Julie ignorantly saying "colored" to her black friend is sooo racist? New Orleans is too white for you but yet Miami is ok? Lol.

Cynthia didn't take offense and even said she loved Flora after the fact. Melissa and Julie are still bickering in 2022 about race issues. To the point where Melissa said she is dangerous and doing white woman things. Julie also not so ignorantly said "what color do I look like?" When Melissa asked her to get something for her. Yes New Orleans was too white for me because there were 5 white castmembers and 3 were from rural America.
Cynthia didn't take offense and even said she loved Flora after the fact.
Good to know--it's only a problem if Cynthia thinks it is.
LOL right? This looney toon only pretends to care about racism when it fits his narrative.
Oh just because the only other person who agrees with your crap and piped it doesn't mean anything. Is it a problem because Cynthia didn't care? No. I never said it wasn't. But it's comparing apples and oranges. And once again yes this cast was too white as evidenced by them not caring about the casual racism all throughout the season. Dummy
It's not comparing apples to oranges. It's comparing you excusing racism in one scenario but not the other. I agree the cast would have been better more diverse, just pointing out your hypocrisy praising Miami and Hawaii which also lacked minorities but bash New Orleans. We also agree that they should have defended Melissa and it was awful that they downplayed it when she was rightfully upset. But that was the beauty of the show and the whole purpose of it. Jamie and the others unfortunately represented a majority part of the population who would have felt the same way and thought that Melissa was overreacting. And she shared why it wasn't ok and how it hurt her, it was a REAL moment on The REAL World. Hopefully people watching saw Julie corrected for saying colored and realized that it's not 1962 anymore and they must stop saying that, as Julie recognized in that moment. So yes, more diversity would have been great but for the time it was considered a decent amount. Survivor and Big Brother years after this had no black contestants. And maybe Melissa being alone in that moment led to B2NY having 4/7 being minoroties.
So by no means do I condone the use of the word "colored" when describing another person, but Chavo, in my experiences growing up in this country, I've had two instances I can remember where white people used the word "colored" when describing a black person to me. One of them was my friend's grandmother in the late '90s/early '00s, and the other time was by an eight year-old boy at and after school program I worked at back in 2011.
Obviously, this doesn't excuse the use of the word or necessarily prove that the term was "common" back in 2000, but I live in good ol' liberal Los Angeles and we have some pretty ethnically diverse groups of people out here, so the fact that that happened in California in the 21st century should mean something. Likewise, where Julie was raised was a super super super white community where ignorance was excused as fast as you could say "I have black friends."
Not the belabor the point, but the word was used more than we'd like to think it was, and the NOLA cast was pretty reflective of demographic makeup of the city.
Please, no hate directed toward me! Don't forget I was argeeing with you just last week! Lol
Hope this season wins the awards it deserves so we can have it settled that this is the best season ever.
I don't want to argue your opinion but how do you think this is the best? Honestly, I was sooo excited about this cast since it was the first season I watched live as a kid, I didn't see LA till last year. However, LA Homecoming was some of the best reality TV ever. Tami and David made a SHOW. Even though the rest were background characters they wanted to be there. I am definitely enjoying this but it's a one-woman show. Julie is carrying this show. Melissa has her funny moments for sure and Jamie is a fun background character. The rest have zero contributions. They don't want to be there and reflect or open up, it's all about the money. As much as I love Homecoming: New Juleans, I just don't see how anyone could rank this above LA.
Rewatched the first four episodes and it's better than I remember especially when skipping the boring scenes. Julie is so amazing and Melissa is the funniest "Karen" ever. Kelley really kills this show. It would have been so much more amazing if they just let her stay home and just brought her in for a final dinner in the finale.
Tami refused to participate and was a boring *** when she refused to go to Joshua Tree that one episode, you say she was boring. No. because you see what you want to see.
That was one episode. I'm not even gonna continue this, you have brain damage and are being selective about what you choose to remember. Go choke.
I said one episode. just making a point. Kelley doesnt paticpate in a night out and shes the most boring person ever and has apparently ruined the whole season. Tami literally goes to a hotel instead of particpating in the show and shes still the star of the season.
All im going to say is Julie is killing it and Tami wishes she could have brought as much drama as Julie.
You stay showing your ignorant racist self every time you post on here

Again it was 2000 not 1962. The term colored was not common. From where I from if you used that term you were likely about to get a beat down.

Someone cast Vevmo World.

Someone would die lol

I still haven't watched the last episode. :/

New Orleans Homecoming was nominated for two Critic's Choice awards...Julie did that! This is all the reason why we need MORE Homecomings!
which ones?
BEST ENSEMBLE CAST IN AN UNSCRIPTED SERIES
BEST UNSTRUCTURED SERIES
It could maybe win the ensemble cast one but it will be hard to beat RHOBH
The ensemble is awful. Julie deserves the award on her own.
It must hurt that Julie's carrying this season. All the weight on her shoulders
Hope this season wins the awards it deserves so we can have it settled that this is the best season ever.
Zzzzzzzz
time to cancel this series, peaked with LA

Julie is just reality tv gold. Every minute of every episode she is just shining.
Get a life you crazed weirdo.
Another amazing episode. It's almost like they were casted 22 years ago with this season in mind. Best cast ever.
Lots of filler this episode
Their TV job was such a huge part of their season. Odd that it isn't an incoming message or task or surprise guest
Nobody:
Julie: "So then I started ************"
Tokyo's wardrobe is ridiculous.
