If they were smart they could easily recruit college athletes who are just graduating that don't have a future in sports. Let's not pretend 22-23 year olds just out of college who are most likely single won't deliver if they pick well.
yes kvm let's go full into atheletes and make it a sports show where hundreds of KC and fessys are cast
That's what they're doing anyway only poorly and without great athletes.
Tbh if want to watch athletes i would watch NBA, NFL, UFC, Uefa Champions league, or hell even wwe, why would someone turn the tv on for some "athletes" that weren't even talented enough to turn Pro?
Because if you're going to market it as "the 5th sport" you need athletes

The point is this is a competition not a sport, nobody is watching this solely for the athleticism and specially for people like Kaycee or Fessy, if i want to watch to real athletes, i tune in for a real sport where i can watch the best, not a semi-scripted show with some college rejects with no personality

It was a competition not a sport--let's see where it goes.
from reddit: "OK, so S38 is still happening, but won't be part of the larger Paramount+ "War of the Worlds" project.
But the majority of the cast for S38 will be 30 international reality show contestants, with most of them completely new to The Challenge, and 8 prior "MTV" castmembers.
2 of those are going to be CT and Bananas.
Curious as to who the other 6 are then.
And if this is finally, finally the season where rookies realize they outnumber vets and can start putting them in situations that cause them to have to actually PLAY the ******* game, instead of being instantly subservient to them all until Vets decide to spend them like pocket change."
And then below one of the replies they said, "They also slipped on the podcast that Wes is coming back too."
----
CT, Wes, Bananas? One more guy and 4 woman? .... Not bad, but a really strange decision by MTV
Honestly KVM is right. From the looks of it the show is no longer this drama filled competition where messiness and debachery abounds that we came to know and love. This looks like it's going in the clean, safe, family route. This is clearly CBS's doing as pretty much all of their reality shows have that same format.

So it looks like I won't be bothering with 38. As it's basically the same old shit and I REFUSE to watch anymore of Backpack. This is why this whole war of the worlds thing was needed. Something to breathe life into this franchise. Something that doesn't involved these tired *** vets that I've been seeing on this show since the early/mid 2000's.

if they're gonna go with athletes I'd at least do this so we get some messy people in their early 20s, not these late 30s rookies they've been casting

i actually assumed it'd be closer to like josh, fessy, devin so i actually don't mind seeing bananas back.
Doubt they would only cast 8 vets, unless Pink or Gamer confirms it i will go with what they said previously and that this cast will basically be the same as Sla

I think that post came directly from Gamer (not certain but I think someone has said Gamer posted something similar). No idea how I feel about this. The show is dying out and all these different shows and formats will either kill it off or somehow surprise us. Do we think they'll integrate these new contestants from this new WOTW to the main show? I'll just be relieved if we get a break from Josh, Fessy and Kacey.

I'm just curious as to why Argentina? I get the others but i find Argentina a bit random. At least do South Africa then they could pull people from SA Survivor etc & they speak English. I'm slightly looking forward to this because I obviously like UK & Aus reality TV but I've got a bad feeling it will be a serious let down. Tbh though it's not like the last couple of seasons of the challenge could get much worse so it's worth a shot.
I don't get it still...I think? Can someone give me a breakdown but you know for dummies like me? Help me out, besties.
Spin off show, 1 in Aus, UK, US (CBS cast) and of all places Argentina. Champs go in to some sort of finale season. No idea whether main show cast will be apart of finale yet but assume so. *shrug*
PR - have any of the interational seasons (UK/AU/Argentina) filmed yet?
I live in Argentina and they haven't done a show like The Challenge here and I actually think it will flop rating wise, people barely watch TV.
They're struggling to keep their golden show (Showmatch - Dancing with the Stars) still on.
Does Telefe do good in ratings?
They do, actually they're on top since 2012. I mean they have the "good" shows: The Voice, Showmatch, MasterChef Celebrity, talk shows and soap operas.
I feel like S1 could have an average to good reception then flopping after 2-3 seasons, that happened to every single show, except for Showmatch.
I just don't see this show being good for that audience
Neither do I. Survivor flopped 20 years ago, just 2 seasons.
I don't think this show will fit at all, is trash tv.
what if the two winners don't even speak English how that's going translate once the 4 versions Champs merge together
Not so many people can put two words together properly over here in their native language, let's not talk about a foreign. So, my guess is someone on Turbo's speaking level (english).
I think it's funny how much of *** kissers are Nelson, Tori & Corey L lmao
Hype about it but they are unemployed until atleast May and for some of them their spots will be given to whoever they like from those versions. Good for us but they look like clowns under the comments.
Imagine they do what they did with alan and just start pulling extras from shit like young sheldon
600 lb life call them
Because if you're going to market it as "the 5th sport" you need athletes

Let's be real--The Challenge we knew is long dead

lol I mean if Spies Lie and Allies is the challenge you want then you're allowed to accept it. The rest of us will sit here and ***** lol
WOTW and WOTW2 were amazing new age seasons. They were on the right track for a bit before going in a completely different direction
if they're gonna go with athletes I'd at least do this so we get some messy people in their early 20s, not these late 30s rookies they've been casting

Gamer is the one who said it was only 8 MTV vets
some of the messiest ego centric people are athletes. i don't know what sports yall follow where mess isn't involved inside or outside the game.
i think he was clearly exaggerating
Im so confused. So 4 challenge seasons where 2 people win. Then the 8 who won compete on cbs or go on the main challenge on mtv?
exactly, it's like no one watched champs vs pros
I'm just curious as to why Argentina? I get the others but i find Argentina a bit random. At least do South Africa then they could pull people from SA Survivor etc & they speak English. On a side note: incoming Georgia & Theo plz.
Need hot guys

If that only 8 vets thing is true, then I'm sure Tori's corny *** will still be shoved down our throats for season 38. Probably Aneesa too.

Its not true it's just gamer over exaggerating and being dramatic
I think it's funny how much of *** kissers are Nelson, Tori & Corey L lmao

This should've been called simply Challenge: World War with them not having to use a previous title
I'm confused so how will Americans watch the international versions ?
They are not supposed to be for the American Market maybe through paramount + but they do make it sound like it's just for their regions
