Netflix/Hulu/HBO Max not even Youtube Originals is reaching out to a bunch of old hasbeens with or without the MTV tag.

Mark is literally just fanning flames so someone green lights and nobody is going to because who actually cares

right, it's basically a fantasy cast at this point

What I could MAYBE see happen is that MTV makes this old school vs New School, do a two week thing to get the popular OG's, and make it a similar format to champs vs stars.

but just a full on OG challenge, not sure that would happen.

I have no delusions of this actually happening but I think ratings would be better than most although maybe not in the demographic they care about.  It could also give us a couple/handful of returnees.  Which, and I may be in the minority, but I'd rather see someone like Kendal than more random international people.

Lol

The more details he spills of what exactly he wants the more confirmation I get this isn't happening and if it does it will be completely different of what he has been trying to pitch:

MTV isnt going to work on the schedule of a lot of this ppl because they are parents and stuff like that they aren't celebrities they will easily drop them. The current viewers will be annoying if they see them doing silly stuff, now days they associated this show with intense challenges.

Lol

Kendal would bring more than Jenny and Kaycee ever could.

This old school challenge sounds interesting but since there's clearly no way MTV will do it, why doesn't MTV just air the earlier (and better) Challenges during this COVID pandemic when so may people are at home?  For those of us who've already seen them, it would be like visiting old friends and for younger people who have no idea what us dinosaurs are talking about when we wax nostalgic about Beth, Darrell, Coral, etc., it would give them a chance to see how different (and, in my opinion, better) the Challenges used to be.  Barring that (or in addition to it), I think MTV should package all of the Challenges (as well as Road Rules and Real World seasons) and sell them.  They're sitting on a gold mine but why they don't take advantage of the money that would roll in is something I'll never understand.  I guess they're content to run "Ridiculousness" 25 hours a day 8 days a week until the end of time.

Viacom and MTV should have their own streaming service they can throw this on or put it on MTV2.

I said, I may be in the minority  Smile

Honestly, I feel like Kendal (or Tori H/F who I dislike) could bring more than some of the international people.  I'm not saying over people like Bear, Georgia or Theo who I felt were all good additions even if Bear makes me want to turn off the tv lol

ive been wondering this for awhile. And they have MTV Hits on Amazon for $6 a month, but the earliest season they have is season 20. There must be some legal reasons why, because otherwise I don't understand why they wouldnt do this. Theres clearly a fan base for it.

ive been saying this too. As it looks like there wont be any new content available for at least the next few months, so they need something else, and opening up their vault could fill the slot. (I also think thats the key to getting interest in Mark Longs challenge, although at this point, I don't think it will end up happening) Ridiculousness 24/7 isnt it. They did two flashback fridays and just dropped the concept for some reason (but didnt play any challenges during it).

its the longest running show on their network, I don't understand why they dont do more to capitalize off it?! Theyre playing themselves.

why would it go to hulu or netflix when they couldnt even get real world anywhere but facebook tv? also you think any network would pick this up when mtv could probably sue them? yall have some crazy ideas sometimes i swear

How naive are you?  Do you not realize that they have people to work out the details if the challenge franchise were to expand to another network or outlet?  Also, this could easily be done without the official challenge name attached to it.  None of the potential cast members are under contract to MTV.

That's the biggest thing, they are not under contract! They pass on it, they literally can go anywhere and make it any kind of show they want. They don't even have to mention Real World or Road Rules lol

Rachel, Mark, Darrell , Veronica, Alton, Tori Hall and Emily a are all under contract with MTV after their universal studio commercials that hasn't expired.

Plus, yes they can sue if the entire concept of the show is to bring their past contestants for nostalgia on the same format of the show MTV produce. Realistically Netflix isnt picking a completion show of 38-50 year old cast members if anything they will do their own competition show with a different concept that include  younger and hottest cast members like their other reality shows. Isn't like the challenge is a known show around the world like Full House for them to invest money around nostalgia.

IMO this either happening on MTV, a Mark's patreon like Wes if he gets the appropriate permission or not at all.

What universal commericial was Rachel and Mark in?  I know the other four were in a mini challenge last year.  I didn't know Rachel came back for anything!

Y'all sure know how to beat a deadhorse around here. We get it Netflix aint picking this up lol.

We love to be realistic and stay facts

I know lol but you had 12 people saying this same obviois thing lol.

it's because most people around hate anything old school and think people should move on.  I just say to them...shut up.  lol. I',m staying postivie and wishing this into the universe!

I think this is the ONLY way this would happen. We'll prob end up getting some big names like Coral and Beth (if they agree) but the Lori's, Ace's, Irulan's, Arissas will probably end up staying home. Similar to Champs vs Stars where the challenges aren't as intense.

Probably something like..

Mark, Landon, MJ (idk what other old school guys said yes lol), Coral, Beth, Rachel, Veronica, Tina vs Bananas, CT, Wes, Cory, Zach, Nany, Kam, Cara, Laurel, Tori

Lori looks great!

i loved her on Sexes 1, her sending Genesis home is still one of my fav/funniest challenge moments to me lol I was sad she never did another one.

Same. I would have loved to have seen Lori on one with Coral.

Lori looking great & way better than females from the current seasons easily.  You can stay negative.  I'll keep hope alive that the OG challenge will happen.  I'll save the negativity for the current trash seasons we're subjected to.

Why would ratings be better? The show is getting it's best ratings in years right now

I said be better than most people think. Reading through this it appears most think no one would watch. Not saying better than TM.

How about this takes place in Jamaica where they had BOTS and have OG's stay up to 2 weeks and people come and go and have this be more of a reunion and the competitions are secondary. They can do challenges from the earlier seasons and then have a toga party!

The amount of non-casual old school fans is less than you think, and they're probably still watching the new seasons anyway. Casuals probably wouldn't watch just like they didn't really watch CvS is what we're saying. Not saying that ratings mean anything anyway since most people with a brain can figure out how to watch these shows without paying for cable

that's all fair but the people the care about the old schoolers and would like to see what they're up to would tune in (and they actually pay for cable and watch live tv) it's just the wrong demographic.  I'm not suggesting the people we consider to be casuals would care much.

I really think this pandemic helped that, sad to say.  I'd be interested to see what they are like next season if things start to get better in the world.

People stay with this opinion, If that was the case all other mtv shows would be doing better instead of worse
