The Challenge: War of The Worlds- Ratings

John's just as irrelevent as the rest of the americans on this show, he has fans but nobodies tuning in just for him or turning the tv off when he's gone. The only ones who have serious fanbases are some of the UK people and Turbo, so hopefully some of their fans tune in when it airs there

Their fan bases are in other  countries that doesnt play any factor in the American ratings....Except for people like Kyle, Mel and Kayleigh that have done more than one season. Their fan base in the US for this show is being build on this season.

I personally dont see the challenge show format working in other countries like it hasnt on the past like most recently in Vendettas that it got cancelled in the UK halfway through.

I can attest your last paragraph since The Challenge was cancelled in France after Rivals 1.

They brought it back recently with Vendettas last year. From what I saw, it’s clearly not the favorite show watched in here.

Same with the UK, in which they cancelled Vendettas after 4-5 episodes ! They’ll bring back the show this month, because of Bear, Theo, Georgia and in a lesser extent Ashley C.

The Challenge format could work with UK reality TV tho. I thought they would capitalize off of that with all these UK people being on brought on.

I mean think about it Melissa/Joss/Kayleigh/Rogan/Bear/Georgia/Ashley/Theo/Dee/Zahida is more than enough of a core. They can call themselves vets and since they know how the show works it’ll work. Fill the rest of the space with rookies from UK reality shows and boom. The Challenge UK is born.

I thought Dee was from Australia

she is but her original show is a UK reality show

Idk about the UK but based on what I have seen in Latin America the challenge can work with a similar format as Love Island from Sunday-Thurday (Airing more than twice a week) and be more interactive with fans.

I have seen shows with similar concept as the challenge be successful there and the majority of them having a similar format as that. I feel like they will need to modified the format to make it appeal for the demographic on those countries.

Survival Of The Fittest airs in UK and it’s pretty much the Challenge Battle Of The Sexes tbh. I see what you’re saying i just really think with them treating their reality stars like celebs they put them all together with a pre established brand and format it’d draw something

Just check and it says that survival of the fittest UK was cancelled after 1 season over low ratings.

I think the format needs to be modified to appeal majority of that country audience. In my opinion the US version will flop again whenever it airs in those countries.

damn didn’t know that but lol yeah I agree if they just air our version there it’s doomed. I don’t even think they have a Survivor either they seem to just love as much mess as possible which is why their most popular reality shows are ratchet as hell

Off topic but I loved that show and I hate that it got canned(the guy in my avi was on that show. King Warren>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>)

Yeah but we need new faces. There no rookie leaders.Cara just became the female face because Camilla is banned. Nany maybe? none of the female rookies is suitable. Amanda will always have the villain role. Mattie is too strong , see LaurelFor bananas it is even worse. They tried it with cory and it failed. Turbo is popular but not suitable for this role .New personalities is not the same as being the face of the franchise. You need the casual fans as well, who only know bananas. The Central question is....what if we have season without a supervet like CT, Wes, Bananas or Cara....would it drop or not?

Cory failed? Cory has more IG followers than casuals precious Cara, CT and Bananas. So clearly people do like Cory. Cory is now on teen mom a more popular show. Failed as a competitor? Even that is not entirely true. He made it to 2 finals. He is not awful he is just not great.

Yeah I’m not seeing how he failed when he’s one of the most known on the show and incites such a large reaction with whatever he does on TV. He’s definitely a face of the show whether anybody likes it or not.

To talk about the point tho there doesn’t need to be 1 singular person. That’s stupid. The Invasion generation is known well enough amongst the casual fanbase and stans alike

I am fine with people showing up can competeing and not be thirsty fame ******

This is how it USED to be until MTV/BMP somewhere down the line decided to put their eggs into the fratboy basket smh

I think a season like WOTW could maybe work if shown in other countries. With Vendettas airing in the UK they had like four people they knew and then a bunch of unknowns on a season  that’s all about past relationships, so of course it was gonna flop.

I still think it's going to flop like Vendettas and every other previous season that has air in other countries.

For other countries audience the format of it can be seen as rush.

I just realized that the UK audience might tune out due to Bananas and Cara.  Unless they gonna edit it so the UK people get to see their stars.

It has nothing to do with Cara, Johnny or whoever. The format in its original American form is just NOT appealing for the UK audience and I know this because it’s the same in France. Plus, there’s too much censoring. UK people are used to see people bare naked, having sex, puking all over the place... The US Challenge is way too bubblegum boring for Europe audience.

There’s a lot Challenge like shows in France who are doing great but the actual show is a huge flop. The show came back for the first time in 7-8 years with Vendettas and it still flopped.

so again have their own version of the challenge with their own host and their own reality stars and just slam the challenge brand on there with MTV. They can keep it uncensored and all of that

If I was trying out the show there's a good chance I would have turned it off during the premiere listening to Cara's cringe *** talking about having sex with Paulie everywhere

maybe theydo need to start to edit it differently....

uk version with more screentime for the uk people

and the regular us version

No ! The US show is way too censored. They would have to completely re-edit the episode to please the UK audience.

The Challenge in its original format is way too boring and bubblegumish for the European market.

That's what i said...2 edits, one for the Uk market and one for the Us market. I have a feeling i would prefere the uk version

I still think it would failed like someone said making their own version with their own cast, episodes structure and format targeting their country viewers demographic have a better chance at being sucessful than airing the US version.

i hope the numbers will go up

It lost 11k viewers but it went up on the 12-34 demographic lol

In other words the ratings stayed the same

@john

CT has hands down the biggest fanbase and so this week was the real test, and it passed with flying colors. So you can lose John and CT's numbers now!

or maybe people love the cara lovestory...yuk

11k is nothing, but If you really wanna test it...just don't cast bananas, ct or cara next season.

Viewers won't drop in the middle of the season because their favourite is out, but their favourite might be the reason the started to watch this season

Nobody likes Cara’s love story. I think as much as the casuals like to be mad on social media they lowkey like this season and the new people.
