Cut it all the way out.*Sounded like Eminem's mom's voice in the movie*v.s.*Calls somebody "8 Mile" as if it's supposed to be a dig at her being from the ghetto & proceeds to act like what's supposed to be a stereotypical AA girl*Not only did you try it but you trying to fish for something out of nothing but mmmkay.

Nah I'm saying I think the Joss thing was a reach. They both meant the same thing, that they were acting/sounding trashy. People blew it out of proportion because it's Day.

Nah would've been the same if it was Kam, Nia, Simone, Toya, Aneesa, **** Chanda from FM1, so on & so forth. It don't have nothing to do with it being Day.Now we'll need to see the context of Ashley v.s. Theo but having a similar sounding voice as a character in the movie v.s. all that extraness Joss did is not the same thing.

Joss called Day "8 Mile" because she was acting trashy. Theo called Ashley "the mom from 8 Mile" because she was acting trashy. This has everything to do with joking about trashiness and nothing to do with race.Nowhere in there was race ever mentioned, I fail to see how Joss's comment was racist and Theo's wasn't, and I stand by that.

Well for one, 8mile is a real ******* place. It's the ghetto, he called a black woman ghetto like most ignorant people do anytime a black woman speaks above a whisper in public. The mom from 8mile isnt ******* real she's a character.

he did? or are you just implying that for him?Day acts crazy and gets called 8 Mile - racistAshley acts crazy and gets called the mom from 8 Mile (who is ghetto white trash, that's what he's implying since we're all reaching) - not racistK lol

I feel like you didn't actually read my post. 8mile is a real place it's not a random character from a movie in 2003, calling a black woman 8mile is calling her ghetto, you can rationalize it anyway you want but he's not in the Uk anymore, in America if you walked up to a black person and called then 8mile they wouldn't just assume it's slang for trashy.

Do you really think that British people know that when they watch the movie? I don't google whatever random British town a movie is set in to see if it's real or not.

That's your argument? That they are too stupid and ignorant to know 8mile is real? They say in the movie it's in Detroit man, people from the UK aren't idiots, they know basic geography.

And Detroit is supposed to mean what to them? I highly doubt most know where Michigan is, where Detroit is, what it's like, etc. So yes, I'm saying I think most probably don't know everything about our country. They probably don't care about Detroit. It isn't even a top 10 most populated city, it's not a tourist destination, why the **** would they? When Joss said "8 Mile", he meant trash. That's what the movie shows, a lot of American trash. And guess what!? They're in all different shapes, sizes and colors too! White and black! Hence why Ashley and Day could both fit the description of "8 Mile" to a British person who watched the movie and saw, gasp - white, black and every color in between - people acting trashy. You are the ones not viewing it from their perspective not me, cause if you did you would clearly see that Joss wasn't being racist just like Theo wasn't being racist.

So he's ignorant, plain and simple. This isn't the UK and he's not a child, being accidentally racist is still racist. This is like them saying camila was from Brazil so she wouldn't know what blackface is

Yes, he's ignorant to the specific social patterns of our 26th most populated city in our country, how dare he lmaooo what's the 26th most populated city in Britain btw?

Blackface is internationally known to most. There would be no excusing that. Maybe you might want to check yourself with your false equivalencies before making an argument, cause you're the one not making sense.

Oop, I hope MTV outs Zach. First episode and already being called rude.

One day you'll understand why your comment is stupid. Today's not the day.

It's really not, the hypocrite in a lot of you is jumping out, especially if you're defending Theo's comment or finding it funny but continuing to criticize Joss

Like I said, today's not the day you learn.

Being condescending like you're above my argument doesn't teach anyone anything. I'm sorry you fail to see the hypocrisy in the situation, maybe one day you'll learn that not everything has to do with race.

No you're absolutely right in that not everything has to do with race. But the fact of the matter is, Joss DID make a racist stereotype with Da'Vonne.

It's different with Ashley because she's white. It holds less weight. When you call one white girl trailer trash, it's never encompassed with every white female. People are accustomed to know that. But with black women, for a while all you saw were stereotypes. So when you use stereotypes on a black women, it holds more weight than with a white woman like Ashley.

That's the difference. They're not the same. Even if you find it offensive, it'll never be equal.

Living for Queen Kam getting picked first.

Oh but of course >>>>>>>>>>

She speaks facts about Zach tho. Wish she went in some more on him than she did with Wes Sad

In Shaleen we trust ❤️

She said Wes is old & dusty and that Zach is rude ****. Sis coming for throats

Saying Zach is rude is basically a compliment too, like she knows casuals may turn on him this season so she's acting like she kind of doesn't like him.

Good for her for studying the show and knowing exactly what the brainless casuals like, I'm sure she'll be a reddit fav too

Morgan. Don't come for Shaleen. It'll result in an immediate ban.

Oh nah I was down to support her but she came for Wes and you better not come for Wes

Fair, I'll concede to that. I still think Joss was simply implying that she was being trashy, not trying to perpectuate a racist stereotype and I stand by the fact that Joss wasn't purposely being racist. Was it insensitive? Yes. But ya'll are reaching with calling it racism and frankly it just annoys people with "racist" being blanket-thrown around at every given situation.

Queen Morgan having you guys pressed before shes even on one episode Biggrin

She speaks facts about Zach tho. Wish she went in some more on him than she did with Wes Sad

She probably likes Zach, just doesn't want to say anything good about him before some bad shit comes up in a few weeks

Vienna sausage is too generous.

And BETCH! Wes is not dusty! It's an allusion. It's just the ginger! T-T

Morgan reminds me a bit of Paulie they clearly came on the show with a plan and agenda. She's smarter ab it tho and less crazy than him so her gaining casual support is going to be easier.

Oh I was just confused bc he said something about her beforehand lol. Anyways Morgan should shut tf up and worry about getting an interesting personality of her own first instead of trashing other people.

Fair enough. With Joss, I don't think he hates black people, but I do think he has some ignorance that's ingrained in him that's usually embedded from society and the people around him.

So even if he wasn't being an outright racist, he was still ignorant.

Paulie is polarizing enough that he's gonna keep getting calls, plus he controls CM and can manipulate that into a couple seasons too. Morgan on the other hand has to fight with Tori & Jenna for the role of basic, useless, kind of hot blonde that does whatever men tell her

Again he's not a ******* child, he's been to the USA before. Using the excuse I didn't know it was racist doesn't magically make him not racist.

Morgan is all about networking. She won a bootleg version of Big Brother that almost no one saw and she wasn't even the most popular person in her alliance (Pretty sure Queen Shelby was the most popular.)

But she knows how to take what she's given and turn them into opportunities. After winning BBOTT, she began taking hosting gigs for AfterBuzz and was doing backyard interviews for the regular Big Brother seasons. And now she's on Ex on the Beach which turned to her being invited for The Challenge and IDK what's going BTS so maybe I'm wrong but I get this impression that TPTB like her enough to call her back for future seasons. So yeah, she's a smart girl but unlike Paulie, she's not a psychopath.

Sure, but like my original point was, "8 Mile" clearly just means ghetto/trashy American to British people I guess. It's an joke that was put on someone both black and white. I don't expect all British people to understand why that would be more offensive to Day than Ashley given that they're not from here, just as we (me) wouldn't know why some things might be more offensive to British blacks than British whites over there. But throwing out "racist" at every turn is tiring and teaches no one anything.
