You make some good points, kvm. I've always preferred the competition aspect of the Challenges to the in-house melodrama so in that regard, I can't see the veterans we covet having much of an effect. That said, while I was never much of a Coral fan, it would be worth the price of admission to see her verbally tear a few (or several) people up!!
I also care far more about competition which is why I want to see Landon again. Darrell & Abram as well. They'll still be there to compete and i think they would destroy most of these kids...don't underestimate that old man strenght lol. I do think it's more difficult for the women. Although Cara is really the only female that they seem to cast that works out a ton. If Coral, Kendal, Tina, etc are in good shape I'd like to see them again. I think we saw photos of Kendal recently and she looked ready to go
I'd love more focus on the competition/game and I want the drama to be competition related, I'd rather Tony/Bananas drama where someone sent in their friend to help their end game over people voting eachother in because they slept with their ex.
And the female side needs a massive overhaul, Cara isn't that good and has no business being the best girl every season.
Daddy DAF wrote:This show has so much potential, but they like staying stuck in mediocrity because why try? You have at least 625k+ casual viewers who are ******* braindead
To be fair its MTV...the whole network has been dying a painful and slowly death for the last 10 years or so. It just seems like they are not even trying **** so why would they try with the challenge?
They're paying a shit ton of money to useless vets who think they're members of production. They don't need to work that hard, just lose Johnny's number and give more valuable rookies like Chad a call. Or better yet, give Landon & Coral the money they deserve and bring my girl Averey back too
That's what you want not what casuals want. Let's face it casuals nowadays like this recycled casts with their favourites. They are the ones production is catering therefore they keep casting the same people. That is one of the reasons that people like the Lavander ladies and Young bucks are getting hate (they are annoying this season) but they are "fresh". Production lost their way during the JEK era and was coming around on Rivals2/Exes 2 but then Rivals 3/Bloodlines happened. I don't even think they need to bring specific people like Coral or Landon (would love to see them tho) but like somebody said just stop using 60-70% of the previous cast for the next challenges and rotate more people.
That's because MTV conditioned them to like it. If they cast this show they way it should've been then this wouldn't be a problem. They really backed this show into a corner with the way they cast.
I don't think the trilogy season's have been that bad. They're just drawn the **** out. If they were done like they were Prior to Dirty 30 then I feel like people would feel better about them.
As much as I'd love to see some of the people from the "good old days" of the Challenge, we have to face the fact that most (if not all) of them are past their prime by this point and wouldn't bring much of anything except nostalgia for those of us who actually remember them. We were pretty excited about Veronica coming back but she's been lackluster at best. Shane coming back gave us hope for others to follow suit but he has turned out to be nothing but obnoxious (even though I do love how he gets under Johnny's skin!). I'm just glad I have the earlier Challenges to watch when I want to see my favorites.
Veronica was worth every penny on XXX...she faded after that but her return was well-worth it. Maybe it should have been a one and done but it was a great return. You may not like Shane but Shane has definitely been relevant in his return even if he is annoying. Brad has also made a very strong return. The only person that really didn't do much of anything was Derrick but that was pretty much always Derrick.Beyond all that--I'll take nostalgia over a lot of the recycled people we're getting.
Agreed 100%. I just looked at the cast list for next season and my soul is crushed. What the **** happened to this show

Pretty sure it's been said she got called for another show after, maybe Final Reckoning
Yeah I think someone said that she was supposed to come in with Cory but when she found out who her partner would be she dropped. Could be wrong though.

It's changing. Get over it.
never. Get over yourself.
Aii, stay hurting then.
Nah...I'll complain until they wise up and see that bringing back the old schoolers like they started doing was the correct thing and not give in and be okay with horrible changes they're trying to shove down our throats that casuals seem to accept. These usless fillers they're adding in do nothing for the show, and are not / will never be needed. There is a larger pool of cast members that could be tapped, that would deliver. Praying season 34 is takes a few steps back and can see the greatness it's missing. Casuals would accept old schoolers, and even the new schoolers that came on before the invasion happen because they're willing to accept anything. And it would make the long time fans happy.

I would have prefered that. It would have made that elmination a little more fare.

And you're taking whatever c rap random cast from outside shows the producer's shove down your throat and rolling with it. Cool.

so she’d drop a show if her ex who ‘defended her’ from someone who hit her but not for the guy that actually hit yet? Yeah that makes sense. There very obviously was no restraining order
I'm with Psy. I'm gonna keep trashing these s hit casting choices until they wise up or the show gets cancelled.
Are you going to trash the cast exclusively on Vevmo? or take it up to MTV?
I have written in to the powers that be as well...so I'm not just trolling on here. It's a problem, and my one voice might not matter, but sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I think it's horrible when the majority of the people on this show are no longer from Real World / Road Rules / Fresh Meat/ and **** I'll even put Bloodlines in there. There is more than enough entertaining people still willing to do the show that we don't need to recycle others from other networks and outside shows that have nothing to do with this one. Yes, the show changes, it's always evolving, I've been watching since the orignial Battle of the Sexes and the show needs to evolve, but I will always stand by as this being a horrible route to take and not back down on the issue.

Say what you want about the "trilogy " but the locations they filmed in are stunning. Especially the salt flats for dirty 30 final
I was just thinking this the other day. One of the only good things about the whole trilogy lol

Are you blind? Anyways, this warrants a better comment but that's for a spoiler thread, not this thread.
Who's blind? You don't see repetition including the past 3 seasons?
never.
