Obviously this show will never be on the same level as Jersey Shore so I think they need to do what Geordie Shore does and add in new people and also get rid of the boring people. There are several people on the show who can go in my opinion and it would make it more entertaining and stop it from burning out as fast as Jersey Shore did.
I have been saying that this show needs to recast about half its cast. If MTV really believes that Kirk, And Cory specifically are gonna ever bring this show to big viewers they are mistaken. Both those guys need recasting ASAP. I can tolerate the girls but they need some REALLY HOT girls in the house. I think all the JS women were better looking than these girls, even Snooki after she lost the weight. They need at least 2 super hot girls and 2 new guys to replace Kirk and Cory or at least be added on top of them.
Jeremiah can stay, he’s problematic without intention and Gus is overall quiet but if you look around he’s a fan fav so he can stay. Nilsa, Aimee and Kortni are stays but Kortni needs to stay a hot mess and stop that calm shit. And Candice is a cool girl but idk if she fits in that environment
Codi, Candice, and Kirk would definitely be the first on my list from the cast to get rid of but my guess based on social media posts is that everyone was asked back for Season 2. Since that may be the case what I think they should do is bring in two new cast members this season to shake things up and get the original cast to realize if they don't step it up they can be axed. If the show makes it to Season 3 then they need to start the process of removing the weak links and replacing them like Geordie Shore.

As of right now we’ll be seeing 2 new people.
And hopefully 2 of the original cast gone. Codi/Kirk specifically.
This show will never be a big hit with some of these lackluster cast members. Like when casting them did MTV believe those were STARS like the Jersey Cast???
Kirk and Candace were definitely safe picks from the producers, but now thinking about it these producers have never really had black people on their shows before or not that many to count. So maybe they’re learning.

Picking “safe” black people is smart. The majority of viewers are white. The last thing you need is over the top black people cementing stereotypes in white peoples minds. There is a reason they cast how they do.
The issue is the two they picked dont work. They need someone with personality like Devyn on the show.
They’re tons of different type of melanin (personalities) that they could’ve chosen from. 495 producers don’t typically cast black people so I wouldn’t expect them to cast right in that department.

This doesn't even make sense. Majority of the viewers are white because they chose two corny black people that black people like myself and others on here don't care to tune in for. How would casting a over-the-top black person cement a stereotype when the white people on the show act trashy too? This touches on the issue we constantly talk about on The Challenge where the black girls like Nia, Simone, and now Kam get trashed by viewers for the same things their White and Latina counterparts are praised for. This is basically meant to be a show where everyone gets a little wild and crazy. Saying cast someone like Devyn basically means cast a black person that doesn't overshadow the white people.

I see you guys always wanting girls that act like the ones on BGC to be on these shows. That would cause issues. Not be good. And no the black viewership would never surpass the white one cause they cast BGC types on The Challenge. It would turn off more people than anything.
Devyn stands out as an equal to her peers or better cause of her commentary. Like it should be. She doesn’t stand out for bad reasons like violence like many of the BGC crew.
No one wants to see Devyn she falls in the "Safe Pick" category with Candice. Like I said before a Devyn type is basically meant to not overshadow the White people and pop in for like two or three moments out of the episode as comedic relief...Zzzzzzzzzzzzz! All the black people we discuss does not equal the girls on BGC but they are miles ahead of a Candice and Devyn. MTV needs to be taking notes from VH1 anyway where actually utilize black people and actually have more than one show on the network getting over a million viewers.
Even if MTV made a show of all black people do you believe black people would flock over to watch it? The MTV logo has always attracted white people more than black people. It's facts. MTV knows their demographic and they cater to it.
VH1 and BET have always been diverse, even before reality TV. ****, BET was made cause MTV wouldn't show black artists music. And after they did start it still remained mostly white viewers only they gained more hate from racists in the south and Midwest.
VH1 utilizes black people more cause they have the demographic for it. MTVs is mainly white folks.
And its an insult to Devyn to throw her in the same category as wallpaper Candace. Devyn stands out. Always has since Brooklyn.
Also im a minority male. Not a white person. I just get How demographics work and how they cause execs and producers to make the choices they do.

This isn't true. VH1 and MTV are sister networks and were basically the same in terms of programming. VH1 didn't put focus on their black demographic until Love & Hip and Basketball Wives which became instant hits. MTV isn't mainly for white folks they just don't produce enough content or cast enough people that the black demographic can relate to. Catfish is a prime example of this where the only time that show has trended on Twitter is when "Black Twitter" finds it entertaining. How about looking back at Real World: Portland where the show didn't even hit a million viewers until the episode Nia made her debut. Devyn falls in the same category of "Safe Picks" as Candice because as I said before they are there to be comedic relief and make an appearance three times out the episode. Devyn fits the bill of entertainment by mediocre standards but she was never a power player in The Challenge and Real World realm.

Thats not true. VH1 has been showing black programming since the early 2000s and every time MTV did a more “urban” show it flopped. This is why they stick with what works for them.
Sister networks doesnt mean anything. They have one that caters to one demographic and the other that caters to another. BET is pretty much on board with them ever since it was sold to white people.
Portland didnt get more viewers cause Nia is black, it got it cause she made the show entertaining and MTV was hyping her. She’s also one of the most hated cast members now that most people never wanna see again all over the place but Vevmo.
MTVs biggest show ever was all white people (or Hispanics also pretending to be white) that barely showcased black people. You think if they dropped JWoww or Sammi for a black girl it would have the same reaction?
Im not defending the racial politics of Television but I am stating the reality of it.
I never said VH1 didn't do black programming I said they didn't make it their focus until the sucess of Love & Hip Hop and Basketball Wives. Prior to that their selection of shows catered to everyone but now their shows are more focused on their Black audience. Portland got more viewers from Nia not because she is Black but the kind of Black person she is which is unapologetic in terms of her personality and demeanor. You kept mentioning Devyn who doesn't reasonate with the average Black audience with her synthethic wigs, corny jokes, and as someone who has openly stated she only dates White men. Jersey Shore is a all Italian cast with the exception of Jwoww who is Spanish/Irish and Snooki who is Chilean so why would they throw a Black person on there anyway? It wouldn't make sense. If you're talking about MTV's black shows flopping you've clearly never heard of **** My Ride, Run's House, and From G's to Gents which all had multiple successful seasons.
The star of season 2.
For some reason I though this was Candice....

I agree. Cody, Kirk, Candice all need to be replaced asap.
Guzzzzzz ain’t needed either
I love Gus! He’s a pretty boy, but he’s much more endearing than that and very likable.

I would definitely like to see some better black representation on this show because Kirk and Candice ain't doing it for me.
