Ex-plosion and Skeletons were pretty good seasons so it's crazy how this show died so fast. Give me a bad season of the Real World over this Floribama shit any day.
Hell no, Floribama shore was lit af and the most entertained I've been since Skeletons.
Even if they brought this back it's not like they'd do any good casting. They're just interested in models or people who fit their twists.

They wanted it to die or whatever type of limbo it's in right now. I don't think it's completely done just yet.
Real World needs another chance imo. They should do another season and have RW specials/marathons leading up to it. I would love if they had a special of past cast members recounting their time on their RW season. It doesn’t deserve to just die especially since it started what is now reality tv.
If they promoted like they've done with The Challenge, I think it can make a resurgence. If it still tanks after that then I say make a finale special with all alumni to send it off.

That's what chaps my *** the MOST about the whole thing. Like do you not know what you're just putting on the back burner like its nothing? These ********* are literally throwing away SO much money by not releasing all the old RW/RR/Challenge seasons for sale on ITunes/Hulu/etc. or striking a deal with Netflix or something.
@Lucci, people can't act like they didn't just completely snub Bad Blood (Go Big too honestly) in the promo department then everybody wonders why the season got low ratings.

I remember it was said on here one point that they tried to do that but the people that they were trying to get a deal with ONLY wanted RW/The Challenge. MTV wanted them to take more shows than just that but they wouldn't.
Was stupid on MTV's part. Putting these shows on the Web/Netflix would really help it I feel like.

Typical ******* MTV. Could've shopped those other shows around ANYWHERE......somebody offers a deal to show seasons of RW/The Challenge (especially old seasons like Back to New York, Hawaii, etc.) YOU TAKE IT. Shows how out of touch they really are b/c people who watch absolutely nothing on MTV nowadays still talk about Real World "back when it was good" to this day.

THIS like I LOVED when Hulu had a majority of the seasons of RW/The Challenge. Honestly I had lost interest when Bloodlines started airing but being able to watch past seasons even got me to finish Bloodlines and sit through the travesty that is Rivals 3. But we're talking about idiots soooo.
So what season do you cite as the beginning of the downfall for Real World? I personally think the blame falls on the second Las Vegas season. It isn't blame on the cast or the season itself but more of Bunim Murray's obsession with recreating the magic that season had. That was around the time I was graduating high school and I felt like casting was more based on who had a unique story. The casting choices got questionable with the San Diego season that followed and then the minimum age jumped from 18 to 21 soon as they started casting for the St. Thomas season. I feel that age change was more based on the tone of the show shifting to being more about clubbing, hookups, and drinking. Yes we could blame Priscilla for her underage drinking but that was her desire to fit in with the cast who were basically drinking and going out most of the time even if it meant ditching her. Then from Portland onward is when we started to get the heavy flow of models and gym rats. As someone who was helping find the cast it got easy because we knew to look for people who either had a Model Mayhem page or a ******* casting tape. I also remember going to a casting call with some friends for one of the last few seasons and remember how the audition was literally a contest of who had the best hookup or breakup story. Bunim Murray did the same thing with Bad Girls Club due their misinformed idea that looks outweighed substance. I mean if you get a group of attractive narcissists in the room they are going to fight just for the sake of attention which can only keep viewers entertained for a small amount of time. Just ask AYTO which is suffering the same fate from their Instagram casting choices. No one is saying they have to go cast a bunch of ugly people but you definitely have to take a page from the older seasons of Real World or even shows like Jersey Shore and Floribama Shore where there is a better balance. Oh and I would be doing a injustice in not mentioning that the promotion for the show dwindled with each season as well.
San Diego 2 and St Thomas. If Portand happened right after Vegas, i think the show would've been in a better state but sadly the show couldnt recover from 2 back to back shitty seasons.

I partially agree because aside from the shitty Vegas inspired casting I don't think the locations of St. Thomas and San Diego helped and the houses were trash too. I personally think they should have went completely left after Vegas and did a Atlanta season which has honestly been their most requested city they've never done.
What I'm most ticked about is that if they're really doing away with this show, they literally just let it die quietly like it was some short-lived show that no one would miss. Hello, you've had 30+ seasons over 20+ years and this is the show that kicked off reality TV. It deserves at least a special or SOMETHING to bid it farewell.
They think that no cares about the show anymore that's why they're paying it dust. The only reason The Challenges got a huge amount of promotion is because the new president of MTV is a super fan of the show. If only he we would understand that the challenge wouldn't be here if it wasn't for RW.

It deserves a final season with MTV pulling out all the stops. Marathons, promos, and a big reunion like The Hills got during their finale.
RR did take 3 whole years off (for them to then come back with the worst RR season of all time so that's not necessarily a good thing).RW is coming back. Hopefully RR too.
I just want to see casting back like it used to be. They can keep both shows if they plan to find the cast on Instagram like AYTO or a combination of reality stars like Ex on the Beach.

I'm pretty indifferent to IG casting BUT it needs to be people who will either bring some type of combination of laughs/drama/Challenge competition for me. Of course I don't mind your everyday regular people either; I think it needs to be a good mix.

That's how I feel it was back in the day though. You knew you'd get a really hot chick or a jock but that wasn't what the whole cast was based on. When I think of good casts that were pretty diverse I definitely think of Cancun and Back to New Orleans.
Love & Hip Hop NY is dwindling in popularity. I think ATL & Hollywood is fine.
I agree that the show can go to VH1. VH1 is a reality tv powerhouse with all of the reality show franchises; Love & Hip Hop, Top Model, Black Ink Crew, & Basketball Wives.
i just want the casting to be rregular. and a regular season, not all of this twists and turns and shit. just cast 7-8 INTERSTING people, and put them in a lit *** city.

ATL is too; people were starting to tune out with Joseline there these past 2 seasons & even more are about to now that she's gone. Hollywood is currently at the top but people are starting to get tired of the scripted, flat-out unbelievable storylines (applies to all of them). NY is absolute trash & the reception the Miami season is already getting before it airs is not a good sign at all.....Basketball Wives is as good as done too; Tami is supposedly moving on.
I feel like people are starting to want to see REAL shit again; which is where RW comes in. VH1 can do it better than MTV ever could, that's for damn sure.

Because its often imitated but never duplicated. MTV stay trying to replace the OG of reality TV. #OOPS

IM STILL PISSED TBEY TOOK OFF THE CHALLENGE AND REAL WORLD OFF HULU CAUSE I LITERALLY ONLY MADE ONE FOR IT AND 2 WEEKS LATER THEY DELETE IT.

They can always give the show to VH1 too tbh.....a network who has at least some sort of clue on wtf they're doing.
