Because his real life was sad and he felt cool thinking his "connections" to reality stars. I've talked to several castmembers who he continuously tweets at and stuff who told me they find him to be "uncomfortable" and "creepy". He was very delusional and thought he was the shit anf better than everyone but really he's just a mean pathetic old man.

I heard numerous times in the past that a lot of his castmember "friends" of his were no friends at all. But that's another story haha. As a Derrick fan, I'm disappointed he's probably not on this season. I do wonder how he actually would've done though, this season is stacked.
