In the Season 31 premiere, a wild first day results in sexual tension between Dione and two female roommates while proud Jenna, who's not afraid to express her opinions, tests everyone's patience.
I am expecting bad ratings for this tomorrow! I forgot it was premiering this week.
The days of big ratings on MTV are long gone. With casting in progress for another season, I think it is clear that MTV has accepted its new lower station in the vast digital cable lineup. While anemic compared to the glory days, The Real World franchise flagship ratings are just good enough to keep on keeping on with a network that doesn't really stand for anything these days.
Well can they get rid of AYTO & bring back Road Rules? Literally no reason why they can't at this point.
Two completely different shows and for the network that it is now AYTO brings decent ratings so I don't see that happening. Last time Road Rules was on it flopped so I doubt we'll see it again.

Well they can keep AYTO as long as they bring RR back. MTV as a whole is flopping; instead of the scripted trash they keep greenlighting that no one watches, they'll do just fine with a current-day Road Rules.

The age demographic that MTV is targeting and their more important one that still bring the "most" number...doesnt even know whats road rules and they dont even know about that show existence.
I feel like this season is the closest to Road rules you guys that care about that show will get.
Why bring something back that flopped years ago to flop again? I can see them trying to do that for the hills and even jersey show that got good ratings on their last seasons.

*eyeroll*
A lot fo people are heavily and patiently waiting and asking for Road Rules to come back so to sit up here and say it'll never be pback is nonsensical and premature.
They need to put Road Rules on a different station, for the older people. For my generation, Road Rules will flop. AYTO gained SO MUCH BUZZ when Season 3 was airing, I don't see that show dying anytime soon.
Don't knock the "scripted shows" either, some are of pretty good quality!

I think Road Rules could do good this generation. & i notcied that too! so many in my town were talking about this show when it got to season 3 but barely anyone knew about season 1 & 2
Vmas is the biggest thing on mtv. Idk why they don't bring rw and the challenge people to the event to introduce an award and promote their show. Didn't they do that back in the day? Mtv has the platform to make their reality stars C listers like Jersey Shore cast but they don't..

Hence why I said "current-day Road Rules". Why would the age demographic even matter & why is it imperative that they NEED to know the show used to exist? Just like most don't know there was a Battle of The Seasons a full decade before the one in 2012. The reason VR flopped was their fault in the first place; it was as big of a mess as Bloodlines format-wise.
Hell if they want to bring back ALL of their older shows, it would serve them much better than the overwhelming majority of what they're showing now.
The freaking show hasn't been promoted as much from watching MTV this week. I'm guessing they think they can promote from social media and have their stars promote for them instead of spending money on a promo.

Road rules was flopping before VR, hence why they decide to change the format when they brought it back 3 years after extreme to revive the show. Which didnt work then and most likely wouldnt work now.
Why tried to make it happen again , so it could flopped for a 3rd time?

I am expecting 500k-600k vieweres similar to the first 2 episodes of skeletons.
The teen mom special this week got a 898 with 0.5 , Awkward premiere 505 with a 0.3 and faking it premiere 248 with 0.2. Catfish/Suspect have been getting around those numbers. So I can see real world getting similar ratings

I don't remember them presenting anything but they definitely had them there & made it known that they were there. I don't even they they get invited anymore, & if they do go i'm sure they're paying for all of their own shit.

I'm thinking 700k at the lowest.

TLDR; Bad ratings are relative.

when even the cast memeber know they need the ratings lmao

smdh @ this premiering on st paddys
I don't think it will hurt the show. Most of their fans are teeny boppers around Blue's age.

Isn't Go Big Or Go Home basically Road Rules? But a mild version?
I didn't even know this was premiering this week??

exactly.
Don't hold your breath.
Teen Wolf and Awkward had me hooked!
I wonder if they will use the same Opening Intro theme like Explosion and Skeletons...
I miss those character intros from past seasons...
Theme music? If so I do too.
Character intros as in "this is the true story?" that shit got tired

Awkward only got 500k with 0.4 on the demographic so hopefully real world does better than that.
Most likely the same as the last 2 seasons . Cast member didnt do the "This is the true story of 7 strangers..." line intro for this season either
