The fact that they threw that much of a fit about being voted in...um you all are rookies, dario's from ayto, caramaria owes you all nothing, and you have yet to prove anything....They had many reasons to go in. I respected how Thomas handled being thrown in. I was rooting for Cohutta but I really do like the buell twins, they're chill.

It’s Week 2 and I’m still not particularly excited about this Challenge as of yet. Nothing has given me the adrenaline pump that I desperately need from this franchise. Perhaps it’s the bunch of new people, perhaps that nothing truly significant has happened outside of confusing the Challengers every 25 minutes. I’m hoping they pick it up.
Cara Maria’s strategy of hooking to stay in the game
It’s another episode of The Challenge and rather than trying to get us to know the rest of these rookies and family members who we have no clue who they are, they jump right into debauchery and sin with Cara Maria making out with Thomas. Oh, and by making out I mean another case of an inferred sexual practice with Bananas hinting at what could’ve happened and Thomas only strengthening that claim of a *******. Didn’t realize that *******s were so popular in 2015, but here we are. A good ol’ fashioned.
For some reason, this is Cara Maria’s strategy to stay in the game. Never mind that she’s a veteran with a somewhat intimidating guy on her team and she’s got arms like Hulk Hogan now, but she’s playing her best game to stay in the game by handing off ******** and making out with strangers. While she has a boyfriend nonetheless. She knows he’s going to see this on television and she doesn’t particularly care, because this relationship has been treading water since it started in Season 20.
No idea if this Challenge was crafted for how disgusting and entertaining it would look on television (likely it was), but this was the worst cruel and usual punishment since that one season where they had to put on a chicken suit and swallow bird feed. What in the **** was this?
My favorite strategy this Challenge by far is the Bananas Smash strategy of just killing everything with your forehead and just hoping to scrape them up and spit them out. Probably the least effective method was Nany’s power shriek from Adventure Time to possible kill them? You’d think she would’ve tied up her hair, even the girl with the snake wrapping around her neck and the eight pounds of make-up knew to tie up her hair. Overall, The Challenge was a great visual to see people freaking out about bugs but people have been freaking out about bugs since the beginning of time. Give me something more.
More Twists Because We’re Writing The Rules As We Go Along
First of all, is there a reason why there are like three teams with red shirts? Two teams with black shirts and another two with grey shirts? I miss the days of Battle of the Exes with several multi-colored tropical shirts.
Jenna and Brianna are of course the last place team because Brianna didn’t even want to try, but luckily for them, it’s a male elimination day. Here’s where things get sketchy. So it’s kind of revealed (fourth twist of the season in 1.5 episodes now?) that they’re alternating between male and female elimination days meaning that a team with a female on it must go in during a female elimination day and a team with a male must go in during a male elimination day. At this point, Leroy must be putting together that he’s screwed either way because his team features both an Adam and an Eve.
At this point, the game’s insanely unfair for teams that feature both sexes but that’s the rules. So not only does Cohutta and Jill lose and they are going into the elimination round, Cohutta’s guaranteed to go in.
Dario & Raphy’s Bluff and Stuff
You ever seen Buff Bagwell from WCW? Dario and Raphy are essentially Buff Bagwell teamed with...another Buff Bagwell. Actually, their goofy -- yet competitive personalities kind of remind me of a young Kenny Santucci. With that said, the twins have managed to scare Cara Maria so much that they essentially made her change her mind. This is probably the only time it’s going to happen because no one on either team is as small as Cohutta. I admire that. It also shows that even eight Challenges in the game, Cara Maria still has a long way to go to develop any sort of political game.
Cohutta and Kelly Anne are the Timmy and Susie of this Challenge
Maybe it’s because this isn’t Battle of the Exes, but are we not acknowledging this was a couple? Was Sydney too far back in the aughts for them to reference it because millennials don't care? Geez. We all have that cousin from New York (unless you’re from New York, like me - go me!) who comes to visit and they hate absolutely everything about your town. “How come everything closes at 9?” “I don’t care about anyone here.” “I wanna go home”. I’m almost convinced she’s a Vevmo member who made it onto The Challenge and realized that she didn’t really wanna be there, she just likes talking about the show.
Jenna is fed up. Fed the **** up. Brianna, who is terrible at everything AND dated 3 of her ex-boyfriends, decides that she wants to go home and Jenna flips the **** out. I’m talking 0 to 100. I’m talking “oh she wants to go home? GO HOME TO YOUR BOYFRIEND WHO CHEATS ON YOU! AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY HATES YOU! AND YOUR EXTENSIONS ARE CHEAP!”. Okay, that last one was a lie. And the one before that.
It’s THAT kind of argument. “I’m trying to get my career together, she doesn’t have a job and all she does is babysit” is probably top 5 lines of the episode. Who imagines Jenna continuing to sign up for this show because her babysitting business has slowed down?
I’m siding with Jenna in this whole mind-rotting debate, because Brianna legit thinks she’s better than everyone because she’s got a job&****ip;.a job at a bakery. Congratulation, your dad owns a bakery.
Nany and Nicole are looking at Jenna like, “....if this white woman doesn’t stop telling her business on national television”. Actually, I'm beginning to become concerned Nicole may not be able to move her eyebrows.

It’s a physical elimination round, which essentially means that Cohutta has absolutely no chance. It’s unfortunate that he always ends up in a physical elimination round and that everyone’s at least 20-30 lbs heavier than he is, but he showed great tenacity?
Cohutta won the last Challenge and now he’s going home in the second episode. Life comes at you fast. For some reason MTV.com has decided to exclude the result of the elimination round and the post-stuff. Here’s to hoping they find a way to throw every season of this show on Netflix or Hulu or something because MTV.com sucks.
Oh look at that, another twist
If there was any incident that shows they’re absolutely writing this show on the fly, it’s the fact that it’s episode 2 and they’ve already dropped the first major plot twist of the season. Everyone showed up as pairs and thought it would be a happy-go-lucky summer camp with your favorite cousin, only for TJ to reveal why they put “Battle of the” in the title instead of the more apt “Bloodlines”.
What does this mean for the show? Personally to me, it kind of loses a bit of it’s integrity. Don’t get me wrong, it makes great television. The same great television that bringing Nany and Bananas back from the dead did last season, but this twist this early just makes me wonder what they have in store over the next 10 episodes.

Here’s to hoping they find a way to throw every season of this show on Netflix or Hulu or something because MTV.com sucks.
Oh look at that, another twist
If there was any incident that shows they’re absolutely writing this show on the fly, it’s the fact that it’s episode 2 and they’ve already dropped the first major plot twist of the season. Everyone showed up as pairs and thought it would be a happy-go-lucky summer camp with your favorite cousin, only for TJ to reveal why they put “Battle of the” in the title instead of the more apt “Bloodlines”.
What does this mean for the show? Personally to me, it kind of loses a bit of it’s integrity. Don’t get me wrong, it makes great television. The same great television that bringing Nany and Bananas back from the dead did last season, but this twist this early just makes me wonder what they have in store over the next 10 episodes.
Yeah, I’m not covering the after show.
