I watched it!! and I loved it!! hahaha finally a somewhat glimmer of hope after a very long depressing season haha... the whole "making them remember" stint was insaneeeee.... couldn't believe my eyes. And I'm assuming his wish was to have his family back... well I guess two things came true: everyones back in town together, and it looks as if he may be starting a new family. crazy!! can't wait to see where it leads in the second season (apparently the finale is just like the end of the book.. so whatever happens next is entirely up in the air)
Other than that, REALLY like this show, and I cannot wait to see more Justin Theroux , er, Kevin, in ill-fitting sweatpants.
OMG. You two and this Justin Theroux obsession... I have a gif for you later OPD. Haha, he's actually in a movie I have to watch in class later today!
Overall I liked the finale, although I do agree the bait and switch dream sequence could have been left out beyond that it again alluded to the National Geographic magazine and Cairo. Carrie Coon was spectacular, as Nora's discovery of her family took my breath away. She made it absolutely horrifying. Justin Theroux was amazing as usual and I especially thought he shinned as his voice audibly cracked reading the bible verse in the scene with Christopher Eccleston (A favorite of mine from his Doctor Who days).
Of course, it still is very Lost-esque except now we have very strange dogs instead of smoke monsters - so I don't expect a lot of things to be answered or to even fully make sense. Director Mimi Leder said in explaining the dog in the finale, "you just have to read into it yourself what you bring to it".

I read several comments about this from the producer, saying that the show is not really about The Departure itself, or finding the answer to "what happened", but moreso following the characters in the aftermath. I think to fully enjoy the show, we, as viewers, need to be ok with that. What's left is compelling enough for me to still want to see more.
...a large portion of the fourteen regular cast members in Season 1 — virtually all in supporting roles — won’t be returning in Season 2 as the series is undergoing a creative reboot, moving the setting from the fictional town of Mapleton, New York to a new location.

I still haven't watched season 1.
You have to watch season 1, it was really good. This can either work really well or be a complete disaster.
This season was absolutely amazing. I'd be so sad if it was not renewed for a third season, but the ratings were never good for what has become the best show on television.
This (with context) is probably one of the most moving scenes I've experienced in a very long time.
omg we had a thread for this??? ****it hahaha we have been talking about this for weeks in the scripted tv section hahaha
absolutely fantastic season!! crossing my fingers it gets renewed... positive reviews have been spreading like wildfire and the finale was the highest rated episode of the season so heres hoping!!! if not, I am still extremely thankful for what we got!
The scene that got me was Evie and Erika on the bridge... soooo many emotions.
I still have to catch up on this. I watched the first 5 episodes but I kinda forgot about it.
HELLL YESSSSSSS AHHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVERRRRRRRR!!!!! AHHHHHH in HBO we trust
I'm happy they are ending it after 3.... most shows that go past that usually don't keep up to standard. It'd be a shame to see this go down in quality with tons of seasons. If it were anthology, then the more the better.. but this is an ongoing story, and i'm just happy we are getting a little more out of the residents of Mapleton & Jarden
So I just watched the season finale again and ugh.....idk I did that to myself lmao. I need to go watch some cartoons or something.
hahaha i rewatched it yesterday! all the same feels
my rents are watching season 1 right now and strugggggling... they cant get into it "everyones sad and woe is me" "its so slow" "nothing has happened".... and i'm just like "GET TO SEASON 2 AND YOU WILL THANK ME" lol But I guess the show is not for everyone. It is slow paced and the subject material is very depressing (season 2 had a bit of a lighter tone, but not by much haha)... but its just so damn good!!! I love family dramas... or just shows that make you think and feel
I already know I am going to absolutely love this final season. it'll be a bittersweet farewell, but i'm happy HBO let them have one more season to finish the story as this is one of the best tv shows ever made (in my very honest opinion). I also love the use of a more somber Beach Boys song, a band known for being very uplifting, for one of the most emotional shows ever haha
Words cannot describe how excited I am for this season. I agree it's one of the best tv shows ever made. It's a shame apparently nobody is watching it, but I get it, the show is not for everyone. Season 2 was an absolute work of art: everything about "International Assassin" was perfection, Carrie **** and Regina King's acting in "Lens" deserved every single award (it's so disappointing they were mostly ignored). I have a feling Season 3 will be even better. And The Beach Boys will never not be creepy to me now.

It really is a shame!! this show is beautiful. and tragic. and mysterious. and emotional. and the acting, story, and way they divide the episodes is just.. words cannot describe it. Season 2 was a work of art. International Assassin, Lens, Orange Sticker, No Room at the Inn.... just amazing storytelling.
I am hoping and praying that Season 3 delivers on the same level as the second season. I'm excited to see how they depict Australia after the crisis. Sad we are leaving Miracle though... what a town.
apparently the final season will have a lot of action compared to the first two seasons. i'm interested. i feel like it'll start with a time jump of some years.
OMG. You two and this Justin Theroux obsession... I have a gif for you later OPD. Haha, he's actually in a movie I have to watch in class later today!
I can't wait to see it! Lol. He's just so handsome....
Ahem...
Justin Theroux Explains His Flopping Package On "The Leftovers"

It's exactly what I needed. Thanks, Boo!
Anytime! I've got one for every occasion. #GifGod
‘Leftovers’ Shakes Up Supporting Cast For Season 2 As Series Moves To New LocaleI still haven't watched season 1.
You have to watch season 1, it was really good. This can either work really well or be a complete disaster.
Hmmmm....well they damn sure better keep Mr. Saggy Sweats himself in it!
You're in the clear.

Final? **** YOU HBO.
AND **** THE PEOPLE THAT DON'T WATCH!!
Hey, I'll take 3 fantastic seasons over 10 bullshit ones.
Agreed! Because this is possibly the best show on tv! I love it!

When I saw this thread pop up, I honestly thought this was a part of VG5 or some kind of aftershow or something, lol. I do apologize!
Sooooooooooooooooo ready for this!
