The Challenge: Rivals 3 (SPOILERS DISCUSSION)

I think MTV is expecting bloodlines to do really well in ratings - it would make more sense to pair tony with someone from that season than Sylvia since skeletons ratings were bleh

Why drop Sylvia if it's Coed Rivals they could have paired her with Tony. I'd prefer her over Nicole Plus if it's Coed Rivals it might be Brandon & Christina (since Exes 3 is too far off)

I'd rather have this and find a way to stretch Nate being with Bri

And once again St. Thomas gets forgotten smh I didn't find that cast bad. I LOVE Marie, LaToya has her moments, I'd be open to giving Laura another shot, Robb is huge now, Trey is dramatic, Swift can stay home, and id even give Brandon a shot for drama purposes

I actually think we may see them all again in the future; Marie and LaToya declined, Trey and Robb don't fit the theme. 

ST Thomas was a horrible season so I get why it gets forgotten about.

My theory with all the AYTO people. I am sure they didn't plan on having that many people but with a lot of RW people prego or retired they had limit options. You could always fall back on Cara, Sarah, laurel. They were always willing to be on but now that they are done with challenges that is 3 less females. Males are always willing to do it (at least more male then female) but look how many girls are prego ugly now??? We all know Theresa would do anther one, Madison was going to do bloodline and would do them but she is prego, after exes 2 jonna is taking a break. I don't think the major presence of AYTO is BMP fault it's the fact the real worlder a don't want to be on... I mean so far we don't even have a single fresh meat person who was always present. As far as Nia they honestly probably see her as a liability espeically if she would be working with a rival...

I wouldn't say they could fall back on Laurel. Laurel's only done 4 challenges, taking a 3 challenge break between Rivals and Free Agents. Cara, Sarah and Paula were their perennials. Rachel has said her and Madison got dropped because she wasn't 21 yet. The pregnancy was later on.

Idk what is going on with Nia, but if she were really considered a liability, would they have even called her? She got a first call, not a second one. I think it might have had something to do with Jordan declining. Her only other rival option would be Jay (waste, imo) and Bananas (I suspect they have someone else lined up for Bananas). I do agree a lot of people have moved on. Not everyone wants to do these forever (*cough* Bananas *cough*) and eventually most people will grow out of this scene. That's why I can understand the lack of old schoolers. When Alton came back for Seasons, he didn't even seem like he wanted to be there. There were several times he said something along the lines of "I'm too old for this".

The real problem seems to be these stupid themes that are too limiting.  You have to worry about people fitting the theme and finding people partners. Forget that! If Bruno drops, keep Sylvia.  She has the potential to be Challenge gold. If they want pairs, they can randomly pair them up after they pick the cast. Do a draft or draw straws, whatever. Survivor learned this the hard way, too. Cast >>>>> theme every time.

i believe pink said they even called jasmine. So every single person gets a call I mean why would you call someone who is super prego. Which Madison not being on that make be true but it's also true that she found out soon before the cast was finalized. I think the Rachel is just an excuse. They allowed Jenna to go on real world and she wasn't 21. If they want people they can get them. All reality shows that have drinking have a 21 age limit just for insurance reasons bit of they want someone they can get them. 

The liability insurance for the Challenge is different than for the Real World, especially after the Tonya lawsuit. Priscilla and Jamie Chung were under age their seasons as well. The epic Nia fight didn't get anyone kicked off on the Real World, neither did whatever the heck Jason did to Nicole (which was supposedly so bad they wouldn't even show us) but way weaker fights have gotten people kicked off the Challenge.

I agree, I think a lot of castmembers they wanted declined because they're in school, done with the show, or pregnant. Then they were left with the boring ones like Trey, Emilee, Tyrie, etc. and had to reach for AYTO. Maybe it's a cast of 30 people which would explain why there is so much AYTO?

But the main question is if they know that so many declined because of school, why did they have to rush things by doing another season during the winter school semester and especially another season that automatically limits your casting options. 

But I agree with the rest of you two. (minus Trey, Tyrie being boring LOL) BMP/MTV definitely gets sometimes too much blame for things they usually have no control over. They apparently tried really hard for Frank, Jordan, Bruno (I believe Brian Jr. too). If they decline, that's no really their blame anymore. 

I agree with this too. I understand that people decline because of familys, obligations, or just taking a break and such. I'm not gonna fault BMP for the people that say no.

What I DO fault them for is not taking advantage of this show's history and getting people from the past to now that WOULD ACTUALLY SAY YES! I get that they're trying to appeal to casual ************* but wouldn't it also be better for them to appeal to the people that have been with this show from the beginning and cast from all periods and pools of this franchise? They can still cast the fan favorites and such but cut out these non-castmembers and useless people and replace them with older castmembers and even newer ones that haven't done one yet or haven't done one in a while. It could only help this show in the long run IMO

i actually like this cast, minus the lack of good competition on the girls side but not for this theme (if it truly is Co-ed Rivals) i wish they would've got better pairs if they were gonna do Co-ed Rivals, they could've made this such an awesome theme with the right cast but it kinda seems like they rushed into it and just got some random extremely stretched pairs

I think bad timing for a lot of people... they're filiming during Thanksgiving and at the end of the year when most people have to work lol. If they film this summer I think the cast will be a lot different.
