Does anyone go to film festivals, or have gone? I wanted to go to Sundance next year, just wondering how the experience is.
I've been going to TIFF for three years now! It's an amazing experience... Volunteering is a lot of work and you work some pretty crazy hours (night shifts, day shifts, short days, really long days, etc). But on the bright side you get to see a lot of movies and a lot of stars. But as a volunteer, you can't interact with stars unless you are off the job which could be frustrating if that's what you are going for haha. I've never done it, but it looks like it could be fun.. you'd make tons of friends and get the whole festival experience for free.
Each year i've been going to more and more movies, soon i'm going to start buying packages haha... but the 5 films i'm seeing this year all look amazing. And since i'm going to 4 premieres, i'll get to see a lot of star power!! Hoping to see some oscar worthy movies and get some good shots with the celebs afterwards
You definitely need to give reviews for Sicario & The Witch I plan on seeing both of those movies. I think The Witch might end being a bust though. I never trust horror movies when they use tag lines like "the best horror in years" lol. I will judge that for myself.
Hells yeah bisch!! I'm not sure if anyone is actually saying "best horror in years" but I put that in there because it has generated a TON of praise and buzz from its world premiere at sundance (won the award for best director too!). It's being compared to Kubrick's The Shining, which is crazy because that is one of my favourite thrillers ever... i'll try not to go in with those expectations, but I do expect some class work. There hasn't been a good horror movie in years, and this just might be the one! Too bad you guys will have to wait till 2016 to see it though lol
Let me know how Room is. I just saw the trailer yesterday I really want to watch it! I want to read the novel it is based on too.
Yeah that new trailer looks amazing! It was a last minute pick and I wasn't expecting much of it, but now that the reviews are out from venice, its recieving amazing praise!! Calling the Brie Larson and boy playing her son both Oscar worthy! Definitely excited now

As for The Witch sounds so ******* cheesy, pass on that and Danish Girl like so not interested

Anybody seen the Gift? Watched it again tonight and still as good the first time. Such a fantastic movie with a lot of twists and some seriously complex characters, Kevin Bateman did amazing in his role.

That movie was awesome! I loved the tone and dark atmosphere. Good pace. Enough twists to keep you entertained. The actors did great. The message was also important and relevant. Also, #GordoTheWeirdo lol.
I have seen It Follows it's a decent movie that had a pretty good concept, but I don't think it's in anyway as great as people & movie critics made it out to be.

I think people applaud it for its tonal presence. I'm not sure, I didn't read the reviews, but I liked it alot, my friends didn't as much. I just thought it was odd when the guy said It will turn into a thing most convenient to get closer to her, but then it turned into nasty naked things...

I loved him on ER but as Batman he was terrible.

Didn't like it. The turning point in the movie is pretty cool, but everything tied up in a neat bow to quickly for me.
