The Challenge: Unpopular Opinions

I didn't feel bad when Sarah had to leave due to her partner on Exes 1 and Rivals 2. She was gonna be on another challenge anyways so I didn't the point of her getting upset about it..Well I mean yeah I get it on some level. Her partner left ********* up and screwed her in the process. I'd be ****** too but still..It's not the end of the world. She'll be on the next challenge and in the case of Exes 1 lo and behold she was on the next season..Battle of the Seasons 2. One of the best seasons ever produced.

If I were Sarah I would have been happy to be sent home while partnered with Vinny. Vinny was fat and a loose cannon. They had no chance in winning. I know Sarah like loves being in the house and competing but If i were her I would have been happy. I think she should have been more upset over the Trashelle thing because her and Trashelle actually had a chance in making the finals.

I think she was just prepared for it when it happened with Trashelle.  With Vinny it was shocking.  No one had ever been sent home in that kind of situation before.

True. She was used to it but I felt for her because Trashelle basically took money out of her pocket.

You're probably right. She didn't seem that all upset when it happened to her on Rivals 2 and that's probably because she was just prepared for it like you said.

With AYTO people being on challenges really made me appreciate not hate The Fresh Meat as much(I still hate most of them, just not because they're Fresh Meat). Fresh Meat was an actual Challenge season and they were....dare I say it...actual castmembers of The Challenge. There's some new Non-castmembers in town...and They're AYTO.

I still hate Camilla though and think she's a waste.

I'm so proud of you debut! Smile

This ALMOST makes me happy that AYTO wasted two spots this seasons

Dead.

You've come a long way, debut. Lol

Debut is one of my favorite posters

I was just reading through the last few pages and I know it's an unpopular opinion here, but I'm sure a few will agree (I'm sure it's been brought up before)..

KellyAnne is extremely overrated and I can't honestly think of something she's done to make me believe she's a "great" competitor. I'll give her beating Rachel on that Island Faceoff, but truthfully I don't remember anything else except her freaking out on Brad on the a Ruins and losing to Evelyn and Johanna in the last Island Faceoff.

^^^Vinny may have gained weight but he was still a good competitor. i bet they would have been in the top five beating out Dunbar and Paula.

I never got why people here love " fun" missions so much, I'd much rather see something like riot act or all shook up than a bunch of crapshoot "fun" ones.

Well that's also because the Ruins never displayed individual times for the competitors but she did exceptionally well in Block Patty where it took 3 girls to get her off her post and a ton of castmembers have expressed fear in facing her. I think her struggling against an Evelyn trying to throw it is more a testament to how Ev is than KA being weak.

It was editing issue like FM said. she apparently proved herself enough to the point that she was indisputably  considered the strongest female there after ev. Susie, Veronica, Johanna, Ibis wanted nothing to do with her in competition and the guys Kenny, Derrick Johnny all thought she was worthy of being one of two top female real world competitors along with Emily dc after cutthroat. Cara Maria still often pops her name on Twitter as one of the strongest females despite never having competed with her which is a testament that her impact was significant enough to be cross pollinated across different generations.

It would be nice if she could come back so she could follow through on all the background gossip about her abilities because as far as what we've seen on our screens, I agree we haven't seen much. That probably has to do with the editing though rather than any actual lack of physical ability in her part.

The fact that every single girl on the Ruins was scared of Kellyanne, just shows she is a **** of a competitor. Even Susie was freaking out about having to go against her. Kellyanne was the strongest girl on the Ruins.

watch the first mission where she scales up the rope like a spider while the other girls had to be handed off by the males

shes done more training since. Pink rose probably has more deets in how competitive sheis nowadays

They need to bring back the Block Party mission they did on The Ruins. That looked so entertaining to watch. It took 3 champion girls such a long time to drag KellyAnne's body across the sand. Susie said grabbing her body was like trying to move a corpse and that showed how KellyAnne was strong. They literally started ripping off her clothes lol

None of the girls on The Ruins, other then Ev, are great competitors...which is why they didn't want to face her.  KellyAnne was a risk for Susie--Susie's not stupid.  Who would you rather face...Casey or someone with a pulse?

The girls on ruins weren't any weaker than those of any other season. I notice you have a habit of labeling the girls in every season as  disappointing  when in reality at this point it's just standard and not anything below that.

It wasn't a Casey vs KA issue. It was the fact that girls were trying to steer away from facing KA by settling for another strong competitor in Sarah. The fact that someone feels like theyre getting a break by having to face Sarah must mean the alternative option, facing KA, must be pretty shitty. It's like I would hate to Fight a leopard but if you give me that or the option of Fighting a tiger then the former starts to look like a vacation in comparison. We both acknowledge that Sarah is a great competitor and can hold her own against the best so someone must be pretty darn formidable to make going against her a walk in the park

First of all, before I post my unpopular opinion, keep in mind that is an unpopular opinion is basically an opinion itself. I'm just going by personal experience here. With that being said, here are three unpopular opinions off of the top of my head.

-I like Wes. Actually, he's one of my favorite competitors of all time.

-CT is overrated as a competitor AND a fighter.

-Johnny "Bananas" is a top five competitor of all time.

Wes comment : I did like him on Rivals 2 and now on BOTE2 but the other ones I couldn't stand him. Especially on Rivals 1 and Fresh Meat 1

CT comment : I don't think CT is overrated but I'm surprised that he's only won 1. As Tyler said in an interview, CT has all the tools but something always trips him up. If he didn't punch Davis on Inferno 3, he would have been a Champion. Duel 2 would have been a great competition for him and he had the potential to win if he stayed. Rivals 1 was Adam's fault so I can't blame him and Exes 1 was based on CT's pace. I wouldn't say he's overrated but he's not Top 5 of all time. Top 10, yes

Bananas comment : Agree. Bananas is definitely top 5 male. I'd probably put him at #3. Landon #1, Darrell #2, Bananas #3, Derrick #4, Miz #5

I think a lot of the people that don't give Johnny his due don't understand the difference between "athlete" and "competitor". Johnny is not one of the best athletes to do the show. Probably not even in the top 10. There are usually at least 2-3  guys per season who are better ATHLETES than he is. But in terms of being an overall challenge competitor...being good at all of the areas of the game (political/social/physical/mental) he's EASILY in the top 5.

I think, and here's my unpopular opinion, that the top 5 overall challenge competitors (in no order) are JEK, Mark and then it's a toss up between a few different people: Miz...Darrell...CT...MAYBE Wes. I'm only hesitant to put Wes in because he's SO alliance heavy and any time things don't go in his favor and he has to troubleshoot he tends to bomb. Rivals 1 and 2 were both essentially stacked for him to be one of the top 2 finishers, and it took a LOT of lucky breaks for him to win the Duel.

Wes IS entertainment.

CT is getting old, but our memories of him being Alpha Dog in early challenges are still preventing many to realize, he's not in the beast he once was. Grant, I still think he's a great competitor, and still top-tier, just few others are better than him; like Bananas.

Bananas has to be one of the most all around competitors. He's smart, sneaky, politically savy, strong, and fast. He has an excellent track challenge record. How can you deny that he's a good competitor?

JL81790, didn't mean to reiterate your comment. Just wanted to give my reasons as to why I agree with all that you said; to a certain extent of course (with CT's).

I do agree with Johnny not being the best athlete but the top 5 best competitors. I think he is probably even top 3. He has all the aspects of the game down and  a  lot of people say that it is just based on experience but honestly he has always had the areas down. He has always been a smart dude in this game beginning on inferno 3 when he found the trick to the dinosaur puzzle to the ruins being the one to come up with the idea to put Wes at the bottom so he couldn't throw it to firguring out the tree puzzle with Devyn on FA finale (those are just a few examples) Johnny has always exceptionally smart at this game from the beginning.

I disagree with Wes getting lucky on the Duel. He played an amazing game that season. He made him own alliance (Svet/Aneesa/Beth/Nehmeiah) and was the leader of it. He made a secret pack with Evan that mainly benefited him more than Evan by convincing Evan to call out CT and manipulating him. He won challenges when it counted the most. Wes deserved the Duel win and I don't think he got lucky by any means.

I don't think the win was entirely luck. He had a good win against Derrick, and convincing Evan to call CT out was a great move...but overall he wasn't a particularly good performer that season until the end (which were two water missions, mind), and he also greatly benefitted from both the head start thing (as Brad finished the final faster than he did) and the fact that CT botched his elimination. I think if Evan or CT had gone to that final with him it wouldn't have even been close. However, you can nitpick anyone's wins I suppose, I just think as an overall competitor he's been better on other seasons (the Ruins, Exes 2) and his Duel win is a little overrated.

Sarah was nowhere near as good of a competitor as she is now and Susie wasn't settling for Sarah.

After Evelyn who was the top female competitor on The Ruins--Susie or KellyAnne?  I love Susie but she's far from "scary" in eliminations other than it may be rigged for her and KellyAnne showed against Evelyn just how big of a gap there was.  KellyAnne could have been up there for hours and not moved Evelyn an inch.

There's been good female casts--just at bad times.  The Inferno, The Inferno 2, The Gauntlet 2 was solid, the Bad *** girl on The Inferno 3 + Susie & Paula, The Island, Cutthroat, Rivals (probably the best ever--should have been a duel) & Rivals 2 was solid.  Lot of other weak seasons though and The Ruins is one of them.

Honestly--the Island (Evelyn, Rachel, Jenn, Paula,  Tonya, Robin, Johanna, KellyAnne,  Colie & Ashli+add 2) and Rivals (Evelyn, Laurel, Jenn, Theresa, Sarah, Camila, Aneesa, Robin, Paula, Cara Maria, Jonna, Mandi, Jasmine & Katelynn) could have been great individual challenges.

The original Battle of the Exes had an awesome cast on both sides. That season should've been The Duel 3 IMO because it had a great group of old school, middle school and new school players.

Old School: Abram, CT, Mark, Aneesa, Rachel, Robin

Middle School: Bananas, Wes, Diem, Paula

New School: Dustin, Leroy, Emily, Heather

sarah isnt that different from before. her positioning then was about the same at it is today...about one notch below the best and a risk for anyone to go after. she might have kicked up her endurance but thats probably the case with every other female so her positioning relative to others is about the same. plus its not like kelly anne is in the same shape anyways. if anything her old and current physical form holds a bigger disparity than that of sarahs.

it isnt just what was said on the ruins either. it was reiterated after cutthroat on the podcast by all three of the JKD squad and its even repeated today by cara maria despite not even competing with her so its not like people ONLY said things about her in the context of the supposedly weaker ruins cast.

but yes if all you pay attention to is the show then kelly anne doesnt look better than your average female competitor so i can totally see why people think shes nothing special.

Rivals (probably the best ever--should have been a duel)

Rivals (Evelyn, Laurel, Jenn, Theresa, Sarah, Camila, Aneesa, Robin, Paula, Cara Maria, Jonna, Mandi, Jasmine & Katelynn) could have been great individual challenges.

I hadn't thought about that until now, but you're right. That would have been amazing.
