I've been watching some of the old seasons that were recommended to me... and I'm on Fans vs. Favorites right now, almost done with it. But man, I don't even know if I can finish it. I'm all for blindsides and manipulation, but it's just SO STUPID (and vile) how it's ending up, not to mention those smug faces the girls were making. But hey, they deserve to be there and Eric deserved to be eliminated for what he did. SMH there's just no one to root for in that season.

Micronesia is such an overrated season IMO.

Indeed. It's main highlight in my opinion is  just the strong casting on the favorites end of things.

Even then, all the awesome favorites get picked off too easily because Fairplay quits. Ami, Eliza, Yau-Man, Cirie, and Fairlay all could have had deep runs in the game.

I'm gonna rank the people left from whom I think have the best chances of winning to the one with the least chance:

1. Jon Misch - if you would have told me he won at the beginning, I wouldn't have believed you, but right now he is in a great position thanks to the tribe swap and he is pretty likeable, which can help him get to the end. Plus, he is a white straight guy (all three past winners fit this stereotype).

2. Josh Canfield - he's been playing the game real good this season and he seems like he gets along with everyone. Wouldn't surprise me seeing him take the million dollars.

3. Baylor Wilson - it seems like people don't like her or trust her, but they keep voting with her instead of against her. She has received 10 votes already during 5 episodes and she's still there. I'm a little iffy about her winning it, but she has reveived a huge edit, I think the biggest one of all.

4. Alec Christy - he is playing the game much better than his brother. I think he is in a pretty good spot as of now, but we will have to see.

5. Jeremy Collins - everyone seems to think he will be the one taking the million dollar check, but I'm not so sure about it. He is a huge threat both physically and socially. I know these people are dumb, but they are not THAT dumb (at least I think so). I don't think he'll make it to Final Tribal Council. I expect him to ride smoothly to the merge, but once he's there I think he is gonna crumble.

6. Natalie Anderson - IMO I don't think people realize what a threat she is. I can easily see her being voted out pre-jury, post-merge or even winning it all. I hope she makes it far, she has been growing on me a lot.

7. Jaclyn Schultz - I'm really impressed by her, she has been in the minority three times before the tribe swap and she hasn't received a vote yet. I feel like she is really underrated, but I can't see her winning at all based on her edit.

8. Wes Nale - he has played a solid game thus far, but I just can't see him winning. Plus I feel like he is going to be the one to quit.

9. Keith Nale - if he knows how to use the idol, he can make it pretty far, but to me he seems kinda dumb.

10. Missy Payne - I had higher expectations for her, but she has really dissapointed me.

11. Reed Kelly - I don't think he is bad by any means, but practically he's Purple Reed. I would also not be surprised if he was the quitter.

12. Julie McGee - don't know what to say about her, only that she won't win.

13. Dale Wentworth - he is in a pretty bad position and will probably be the next to go.

Let me know what you think.

I think it's between Jeremy and Josh. Tony also didn't get a very positive edit and people didn't think he'd win, because he was shown to being too eratic so I don't think we can write him off. Also, Alec has been shown to be almost just as bad as his brother in the past episode. I think Baylor will be the one to eventually vote him out.

I don't see Jon winning this. Sure he may be in a good position now but once comes the merge, I see him and Jacyln being targeted first.  My money is on Josh this season.

I really hope Josh doesnt win

Amen.

I'm going to be honest, I gave up on this season. I've never done that with Survivor before (I've come close, but have never actually stopped). Bring on season 30.

Really? Why? This season isn't bad IMO

Hahaha! It actually has nothing to do with it being bad, I've enjoyed the three episodes I've seen. It's not being home to watch it live and being too lazy to set the DVR or watch it on cbs.com. I'll eventually get caught up, maybe this week since I don't have any projects, papers, or exams due!

Yeah, why? I'm sad Kelley left, but there are still some great people left like Baylor, Dale, Keith, Natalie, Jeremy, Josh,  Jon. This is a weird season to throw the towel in for, lol.

I'm really enjoying this season and I haven't missed an episode yet, but I think it's because it's the first season I'm watching live.

I feel like that wasn't a fair trade at all (for Coyopa), I thought the penalty was going to be thougher, and it should have been. Now they'll dominate on the challenges once again and pick off the Coyopa tribe members one by one.

So after the merge it's going to be Jeremy, Natalie, Julie, Missy and Baylor vs. Josh, Reed, Wes, Keith and maybe Alec. Missy and Baylor just have to get Jon and Jaclyn on their side to have the numbers, but based by the preview that doesn't look to be the case.

Since there's not an episode thread atm for the newest episode of SJDS, I guess I'll post my thoughts here.

I loved how Jeff just slaughtered the NuHunahpu of their dignity. I'm a little surprised he just wanted the comfort (and a bowl + extra flint), but at least they can eat. (plus the reward from the reward challenge)

Not surprised Dale was voted out, but I was kind of hoping it would be Missy. You'd think so with how Jaclyn was kind of skeptical of Baylor/Missy jumping ship after the merge, and make that opportunity to break a couple up while retaining that free vote which is Dale.

Next week's episode is the merge! I know they are tricky with how they edit these shows, but it seems like there are quite a number of targets that I saw in the preview. Namely Josh and Jon/Jaclyn.

From that preview, I think Baylor was referring to Jon or Jaclyn when she said "thanks for helping me, but now I have to vote you out".  I can't wait to see Jeremy, Josh, Reed, Natalie, and Missy battle it out. I think Missy and Baylor are gonna team up with Jeremy, Julie, and Natalie. And Josh, Reed, Wes, and Keith will work together.

Does anyone think this season sucks? Or is it just me?

this season has a weird vibe to it but I still find it enjoyable to watch.

One of the weaker casts. But it's pre-merge. The real action has yet to begin.

I'm enjoying it thus far, it's not as good as Cagayan, BvW or Philippines, but I'm really liking it.

This season is pretty good. I prefer 25, 27, and 28, but it still has some strong people/players in: Jon, Jeremy, Natalie, Josh, Baylor, Keith. I just feel like Cagayan had so many big stars already at this point, but Cagayan also started to have a lopsided edit after the merge episode so let's see.

Cagayan kind of went down a little post-merge, but I have a feeling this season the merge is going to be real good. I just hope we get to see a Jeremy and Josh blindside with either Baylor, Natalie or Alec winning it all.

Are they merging next episode? What's the buff color? Nevermind, it's a light green/teal.

I feel like this is always a controversial question and if you say yes, an elaboration would be great: is the jury ever wrong?

I feel like this is always a controversial question and if you say yes, an elaboration would be great: is the jury ever wrong?

Yes, the jury is a lot of times wrong. I love when the jury isn't bitter and hands the money to the most deserving player. I know being low key and UTR is a strategy, and a great one, but I feel like a person who had a part on taking out people and making risky moves deserves it way more. I hated the outcome of Heroes vs. Villains because I really feel Parvati should have won (though Sandra is one of my favorite castaways ever). I also hated the outcome for Tocantins because I feel like both JT and Stephen both deserved to win equally because they pretty much had a part in every blindside, but because of JT's southern charm Stephen didn't received any single vote. Last season, even though I hated Tony, I'm glad he won because he deserved it way more than Woo.

Not to mention Russell Hantz deserved to win at least once if not twice for his game play, but the jury was always bitter towards him.

^Eh, Russell never deserved to win and especially in HvV where they properly edited him as an idiot (looking for the idol when his tribe wss against it, being in the minority, blindsiding Danielle for no reason, treating people like dirt, making deals he had no intentions of keeping). It's still weird how people think he's one of the best to ever play IMO of course.

I think editing really helped Parv because through interviews, it was revealed she was in the majority of the alliance consisting of herself, Russell, Rob, Courtney, and Sandra but she sides with Russ in a fight with Rob and puts herself in the minority. Then she alienates the heroes, blindsides super paranoid Russell with her double idol play, which causes the f7 boot. Also apparently she laughed at JT's letter at camp WITH THE HEROES IN HEARING DISTANCE. I still love her though.

Also, JT was just so weirdly likable that so many people were willing to lose to him in f2. I think Stephen is good though and him getting no votes isn't representative of a bad game at all.
