It's bad when they'd been there 4 times already.
It has been awhile though. I believe Gauntlet III in 2008 was their last season in Mexico.
My original statement should have been more specific. As long as The Challenge is bringing in decent ratings they'll keep it alive. There's tons of shows on TV that are kept on despite the quality dropping significantly because they bring ratings/viewers. Even The Challenge as it is now brings in better ratings than the other disasters the "execs" at MTV have tried to make work.
No quarrel with your clarification, but Susanne Daniels' patience must be wearing thin overall. She was hired to improve the network, not maintain a deteriorating status quo.

Agreed but you can't blow up everything at once.
I don't think The Real World and The Challenge are in such a bad place. The only shows doing better are Teen Mom 2, which is in it's last legs, Catfish and Teen Wolf, which isn't as strong as it used to be
I would be very happy to see Diem compete both fit and healthy (versus broken down like R2). She looks like she's been working out a lot of IG, seems happy and strong, and I think she will bring ratings. That said, I don't quite believe it as it seems very unlikely she and CT would appear on a show together (unless there was a major incentive provided to Medgift or something) since they've worked so hard to not put their relationship status out there.
Again, I'm really happy if she's there, but don't quite believe it ...
I agree with your assessment. I would also think, knowing her competitive nature, that the prospect of one last hurrah, with CT as her partner, might be an equal incentive as well, especially if they are getting along. You're right, she's healthy and in top shape right now and they came soooo close in Exes 1. As we saw on the Duel I and on Exes I, when they work together, they really complement each other's strengths and overcome each other's weaknesses.
For storyline, hopefully they conclude what went down on Rivals 2 and not make them the focus of the entire thing. I don't want to hear about Duel 1 and Duel 2. I don't want to hear "Career first" or "This was the man I was going to marry", I don't want to hear about Diem's wigs and how he helped her with her confidence and I damn sure don't want to see Diem throw a hissy fit when the two get sent into the final elimination like always.
You know you're going to get a little of that in the beginning to lay a foundation for newcomers who may be just picking this up after Free Agents and/or the last Real World. But probably, there will be less of that spin if they are paired up and happy. I, for one, would rather listen to D's hissy fit than anything Jemmye has to say. Her voice is like nails on a blackboard for me.
V1man what is your personal opinion about Diem being speculated after her big retirement?
I talked to her last Wednesday evening at 9 PM. We discussed charity events and not reality TV, so I have no idea. Frankly, I'm disappointed any time someone I know and regard as a friend would lower him or herself to sign a contract with Bunim Murray Productions. Sometimes our friends disappoint us, yet remain our friends.
You guys are getting annoying with the ''Oh not again with CT/Diem.'' like honestly shut up with these. No one is looking forward to their relationship. And they bring ratings. People like Preston and Jemmye make the ratings **** poor. I honestly don't understand. And I am pretty sure that CT and Diem left on good notes. So guys please stop whinning over them. I rather them then Preston types of people. And I don't care if it's your opinion, it's just stupid.
Even though most people hate Knight/Jemmye (not me), they are still one of the most popular people from the new era. The only ones I think are more popular are Cara Maria, Nany, Zach, Dustin and Camila.

You're trying to tell me that Knight and/or Jemmye are more popular than Jonna, Jasmine, Sarah and Leroy? Wow.
Diem just posted something on instagram.

Cant post a pic right now but that's what the picture was, that quote.

Maybe not Sarah and Leroy, but Jasmine and Jonna yes.

I still think someone is running her social media
I hope someone is running her social media accounts. Many people on here seem to not like the fact that CT and Diem are going to be on this show together again. I personally like both CT and Diem separately and think they compliment each other well. At the end of the day I honestly just want this show to continue to be on the air and have as many seasons as possible. If having them two together on again makes that possible then I have nothing to complain about.
Only reason why I think Diem is back is that she ended things on Rivals pretty bad note and I think she wants that win to reitre perfectly
Hopefully she goes home early then
Just like when you thought CT and Diem were not together but yet they were!
I talked to her last Wednesday evening at 9 PM. I think Diem's sister is running her social media. Her posts and activity all seem off.
Also. The fact that mentions of CT and Diem likely being on the next challenge together creates this much discussion on Vevmo alone - be it negative or positive - is exactly why MTV/BMP want to drag out the storyline for as long as they can.
For months after Rivals II, when Diem's 'image' was destroyed, her @ mentions on Twitter were full of people begging for confirmation that she was back with CT. CT's instagram comments are full of people talking about how he needs to marry her. They've actively kept their relationship since Rivals II quiet for a reason. Why wouldn't BMP piggyback on a unique 10 year reality tv 'love story' to up ratings, if the opportunity is there and both CT and Diem are willing to come back?
The majority of you guys may not like it, may hate it, but CT and Diem are both fan favorites, and even more so when they're together.
If Diem is in fact on the upcoming season, I hope it turns out how she wants it to. I'm sure she's still not pleased with how everything ended after Rivals II. She seems happy and healthy now, in shape, and ready to kick ***. CT and Diem working together as a team can be quite the powerhouse, as we saw on Exes. I'm ready for round two.

I use it quite liberally when NOLA's J&K speak.

Well said, Skimthrough!
This show shouldn't need CT and Diem in order to bring in ratings. It shouldn't need them for competition either.
THIS. You know a show is on it's last strings when it has to depend on 3-4 castmembers out of hundreds.
