ooo I stopped watching after episode 4, but not because i didn't like it... i found it hard to keep up with, what with all my other top priority shows haha... but now that "Under The Dome" is out of the picture because it is pure ****... did the season end well?? No spoilers please haha
I tried really, REALLY hard to get into it... I loved the concept, loved that it had a big cast and several stories, and that it was somewhat unpredictable. They set it up perfectly in the premiere... but as the season has progressed, I literally want to facepalm at every single character... they are all so stupid. Some of the worst acting I have every seen... Having Angie repeatedly captured drove me insane at how stupid it was. The fact that the red-head still can't figure out that Barbie killed her husband when its so obvious with all the info shes collected. Every single character treats the audience like a kid... like they have to say every little thing about what is going on at that moment like we can't see it ourselves.
The final straw was last week when there was some good plot progression with the town going mad and greedy, but the second it starts to rain, everyone works together as if they are all friends. Also, just the fact that the woman had to run out into the road, and the truck just conveniently crashed into the water tower... that's what has annoyed me the most about the show... how "convenient" everything is... oh yeah, and killing off the diner boss? they couldve at least developed her a little more than that before killing her.. shes probably one of the most well known actors from the cast.

harper's island is still cbs' best work
I lovvved harper's island!! I know most people aren't looking forward to it... but I hope the new "Scream" tv show follows the HI format, with a death each episode, and the killer revealed in the finale or second-last episode of each season.

I don't think they'll necessarily have a death each episode but as long as its not like Halloween 3 or F13 television show them I'm good.
Downton Abbey - new season starts soon (the 22nd). Yaaaay! :)
It premieres January 5th in the United States.
Last year I had the entire season completely ruined because all the major media outlets (including CNN on the front page) reported the death and departure of a main character before a single episode aired on PBS. I don't know anyone who is planning on waiting until January to watch this time around after getting burned, although per forum rules I will not go down that road.
Oh, sorry. Being in the UK now, I forgot about the release date discrepancy. I actually never watched this show at all when I was in the US.
It's strange when the UK is actually the one ahead of the US when it comes to broadcasting a program. :P And before anyone says, "That's because it's a British program", shut up! I'm just saying it feels strange.
I myself will abstain from posting any thoughts about episodes until my countrymen have caught up! It is the only hono(u)rable thing to do.

Jealousy rears its ugly head at your present situation for so many reasons. :emmersed:

PBS could air the show in September, but they have a specific strategy not to simulcast. They don't want to be facing fall premieres and like to edit the show to their choosing - creating Downton light.
Basically, Rebecca Eaton (Executive Producer, Masterpiece on PBS) thinks US viewers are stupid, impatient and can't use the internet. Way to butter me up for a pledge!

I'll start a separate spoiler thread when it airs next week for those [strike]who are invariably going to watch the show though other means [/strike] in the UK.
MTV’s ‘Scream’ TV Series Plot Details & Character Descriptions
I'm really excited for this. I loved the first Scream, and I've enjoyed what MTV has done with Teen Wolf, so I have relatively high hopes. There have been rumors that there will be supernatural elements to the story and a shared universe with Teen Wolf, which has quite a lot of potential to work very well for the series, but it does dilute the slasher film parody-esque premise that Scream brings to the table.

This is old news, but still kind of interesting. MTV is basically trying to find their Game of Thrones. I hadn't heard of this series before the announcement was made but did a little research, apparently it is very popular and I ended up buying the book out of curiosity. Despite not being something I'd typically read, I have to admit it is pretty good. It will easily make for a great TV show if handled correctly, there are some pretty cool characters, and has something for almost every viewer. There is a strong team putting it together, so we'll see what happens. One thing is for sure, Susanne Daniels is really trying to up MTV's game.
Really looking forward to the Scream series!! I hope it follows the Harper's Island format!
I've read a lot about people wanting a similar format. It's interesting because the protagonist of Scream will be named Harper and the pilot was written by one of the writers of Harper's Island.
Really looking forward to the Scream series!! I hope it follows the Harper's Island format!
I doubt it. Harper's Island was from 5 **** years ago, Scream has never copied so not happening. As for the supernatural teen wolf gay *** crossover, I hope not. That's what they did with IKWYDLS 3 and while it was interesting it ultimately caused IKWYDLS movies to go on hiatus.

I'm not sold on the crossover either. I can see why MTV would want to do it, but I feel that Scream would be better off as a self-contained series. Shared universes are getting ridiculous these days anyway, Universal announced that the reboots of Van Helsing and The Mummy would have one... Umm yeah, I'm not quite sure how the **** that one's going to work!
I thought I heard that they scrapped both the supernatural element and the crossover completely and rewrote the script... I saw an article about that back in february I think.
If it doesnt follow the same format as Harpers Island (season long mystery, a large cast of characters die each episode leaving only a handful in the finale (with one of them obviously being the masked serial killer))... I think that could work, especially for this kind of show. If it's anything like PLL where the "masked" character lasts more than one season (5 in fact), i'll be disappointed... that show has become a complete mess because they tried to throw too many twists at the viewers.
Not saying it should be set on an island... the school format would work just fine. It'd be fun for the audience to try and unmask the killer before they are revealed in the finale (sort of like what AHS did with the Rubber Man, Bloody Face, and the Supreme)

I remember reading something about that too. I guess only time will tell at this point. The plot synopsis that has been released does lean more towards the rumors they scrapped the supernatural idea:
The story will begin with a YouTube video going viral, which soon sparks a string of murders in a quiet town with a troubled past.
yeah the only respectable series to have decent crossovers are Law and Order which shares universes with Criminal Intent, SVU, Trial by Jury, Conviction, New York Undercover and now Chicago Fire/Chicago PD.
Anyone watching season 2 of Orange Is The New Black? I'm halfway through!
Soooo good...I'm trying to watch at least 1 episode a day - not happening!
Soooo good...I'm trying to watch at least 1 episode a day - not happening!
I'm on 2 a day. My only complaint is that Piper is just as annoying as she was on the first season. Seriously, I can't stand her, lol. The primary drawback of this show is that the main character is so insufferably annoying to watch. But it's still an awesome show hahaha.
7 episodes in!! So far i'm loving the characters they have been giving background episodes too now... and how about the premiere? very unexpected and I actually liked the new change in setting, if only for a little while. Can't wait for the latter half... thats usually when it all hits the fan!
I finished, but I just couldn't believe how fast the episodes went. I was on episode 11 and couldn't believe there was only 2 episodes left.
As annoying as Piper is, there was definitely a lot of airtime/more focus on other characters this season which I enjoyed a lot.
Episode 12 was AMAZING... deciding right now if i should just binge the finale... or savour it tomorrow haha gahh!!
Don't say that! Just passed the V-Day episode...so I'm almost there. I will probably finish the season within the next couple of days which sucks.
I loved the finale!!! I definitely have a better idea of where the show is headed now compared to how I felt after the first season lol
I feel the first half the the season (1-6) was a little bit lackluster (aside from episode 4)... wheras the second half (7-13) just steam rolled right through.. so goood to binge them all!!
Now to watch them all in detail hahaha just can't get enough
MTV greenlights 'Shannara' fantasy to series
MTV has had this in the works for a while and it's finally moving forward. It's been picked up for 10 episodes (meaning it is going to have a larger budget than the rest of their shows, but given the nature of the material, it's to be expected). I had never heard of the series until the show was announced, so I gave it a read out of curiosity.
I'll say this: if handled correctly, promoted with care, and it stays true to the book, it will be MTV's biggest hit. Ever. I'm talking The Walking Dead/Game of Thrones-level ratings (the latter of which this show is hoping to piggyback viewers off of).
The Shannara saga was launched in 1977 with The Sword of Shannara. With about 25 books in the saga, it’s estimated to be the most popular fantasy book series in the world that hasn’t yet been adapted for film or television (Warner Bros. previously got the rights to develop a film based on the books in 2007). Producers plan to base the show’s first season on The Elfstones of Shannara, the second novel in Brooks’ series, a title the network describes as “a fan favorite which spent 16 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list and is accredited with cementing the series place in the fantasy world.”
