Ibis didn't deserve to be in the final but she sure as hell earned that win
Yeah...she did eat a lot fast, but I don't remember the missions exactly, but I feel like she lost two missions single handedly and never brought anything to her team the whole season.
Yeah...she did eat a lot fast, but I don't remember the missions exactly, but I feel like she lost two missions single handedly and never brought anything to her team the whole season.
Oh yeah, she was awful in the missions and the team wanted Kina to take her out
Ibis basically doubled what anyone else ate
Like in Sexes 2 when she downed the butter like it was a candy bar
Yeah...she did eat a lot fast, but I don't remember the missions exactly, but I feel like she lost two missions single handedly and never brought anything to her team the whole season.
She messed up on the mission where you crawled through tires and released them as you go. I can't remember the other mission though.
She messed up on the mission where you crawled through tires and released them as you go. I can't remember the other mission though.
Oh yeah, she messed up that tire mission. I just find it funny when Ibis thought she was important to her team on the Ruins and felt screwed when she ended up going into the elimination. She would have been there eventually...
I actually just finished watching the Gauntlet 2 and took notes on how everyone did in every mission. Here's Ibis' performances:
Chock Full of Coconuts - she was paired with Alton, and they dropped most of their coconuts and also moved very slowly (mainly due to Ibis)
Team Builders - no stand out performance... it was a team challenge
Moving Pyramid - team challenge
Sponge Worthy - team challenge
Body Painters - team challenge
Rickshaw Races - she was not one of the females chosen to run
Team Strength - she and Randy pushed the truck before it was filled with cinder blocks. They had a huge lead, but Beth and David managed to make up all the time on them.
Balancing Act - Paired with Jodi. They actually almost made it to the end, and Jodi was the one who fell.
Buckaneer - team challenge
Pull Me - her team also included Randy, Landon, Jamie, Kina, and Cara. They were the second Rookies team to go; the first one had a poor time due to a poor strategy. This team copied the Veterans' strategy but had a worse time than them. The second Veterans team had a worse time but they knew they had won so they didn't have to try as hard.
Spare Tires - Ibis went first. She had the easiest round out of everyone because all the tires were still there. She fell anyway.
Easy Does It - paired with Susie. Ibis is unable to get on the platform and falls, incurring the penalty
The Pit - team challenge
Blind Trust - She went first and wasn't blindfolded, and outperformed Katie who was also not blindfolded (a time of 1:09 vs. 2:00)
Piece by Piece - team challenge
Bet Your Booty - ate a ton of roti. Lol
Why did the Vets always put David right after Katie whenever they had to do an individual mission? Wouldn't it make more sense to put all of the ****** girls first?

I think they had to alternate between girls and boys. It wasn't stated on the show, but both the Vets and Rookies had guys and girls alternating in the missions so...

David & Katie were "close" at that point. They probably thought if anyone could understand her it would be him
But I think Yousarian is right--they had to alternate

I mean it's all Johnny's fault she went in since he just assumed Veronica couldn't get enough votes and voted Ibis in, when Veronica would have gone in had he voted for her
I never liked Gauntlet II's final tbh.
Yeah that's the one bad thing about that season. That Final was horrible. One of the worst finals in the history of the series IMO.

As a mission; cool idea.
As a final? I like the endurance/athleticism factor. Throw in an eating part, a puzzle part, a mind game part and it's a great final

Evan and Derrick (both people Ibis expected to have her back) were just as responsible for her going in as Johnny was. Evan could have ended things in the original deliberation by voting Veronica vs Kellyanne, but he allowed the tie to happen by letting Veronica pick Kimberly. Derrick, who was supposed to be JEK's slave and was also on the same RR season as Ibis voted her in over Veronica as well in the 2nd deliberation where the full team was involved. Johnny might be a jerk with a reputation for screwing people over, but that whole mess with the Ibis vote definitely wasn't all his fault.

Yeah it was everyone's fault. I think it got blamed on Johnny because didn't Ibis and him have like a thing that challenge so I guess that is why she took it out on him.
I like Ibsis but that was amazing to watch the votes change to Veronica not getting voted in at all.

Yeah they were pretty close friends back then

Just like on the original Battle of the Seasons in Cabo San Lucas where Hurricane Juliet slammed into the hotel and they ended up with Inner Tube Tango in the swimming pool

What a shame. I think the Vets would have won if they had a traditional footrace final.
What a shame. I think the Vets would have won if they had a traditional footrace final.
As much as I wanted the Veterans to win, I don't think they would have won a traditional final. It would have came down to the women. The only solid women on the Veterans side was Julie. Aneesa, Robin, and Katie would have been their anchors with David, Mark, and Timmy having to help them out. On the Rookies team, the only people I would be worried about would be Ibis and Susie but with 5 guys I think they would have had no problem carrying them.
What does getting DQ'd have to do with anything? The Ruins was a team challenge and Darrell was still on it regardless of whether he won, was eliminated, or got DQ'd for fighting. Not to mention Darrell didn't get thrown off The Ruins until Episode 8 so the guy did majority of the season.
Wouldn't you like to know. I'm not gonna argue with you this late at night. And FYI, I know damn fully well it was a team challenge, dude...
Just like on the original Battle of the Seasons in Cabo San Lucas where Hurricane Juliet slammed into the hotel and they ended up with Inner Tube Tango in the swimming pool
How was that bad? Other than fem Stephen it was a great mission. Would I like to see it again? No. I miss Lindsay.

Okay I really cannot tell if your seriously pissed.
I was only asking you to clarify why you didn't count The Ruins as a team challenge for Darrell.

No sir, I'm not pissed off. Hell, i was actually thinking you were, lol. Glad, we can calm down. I guess I got bent out of shape with the way it sounded but I guess I'm one who counts it if it's either complete or eliminated. I consider him to be disqualified FWIW. Still can't get over the fact that Brad didn't go in ONE TIME on Cutthroat.

That's because big bad brad hid in his wife's purse the whole time
With some talk of it in the Generic thread, I wanted to find out just how recycled the casts have been as of late, and if they've been more recycled than casts of past. Here's the numbers:
Challenge 2000 had 0 out of 12 people that were on the previous Challenge (0%)
Extreme Challenge had 0 out of 13 people that were on the previous Challenge (0%)
Battle of the Seasons had 1 ut of 32 people that was on the previous Challenge (3%)
Battle of the Sexes had 5 out of 36 people that were on the previous Challenge (14%)
The Gauntlet had 6 out of 28 people that were on the previous Challenge (21%)
The Inferno had 7 out of 20 people that were on the previous Challenge (35%)
Battle of the Sexes 2 had 7 out of 36 people that were on the previous Challenge (19%)
Inferno 2 had 9 out of 20 people that were on the previous Challenge (45%)
Gauntlet 2 had 6 out of 32 people that were on the previous Challenge (19&)
Fresh Meat had 2 out of 12 alumni that were on the previous Challenge (17%)
The Duel had 8 out of 20 people that were on the previous Challenge (40%)
Inferno 3 had 6 out of 21 people that were on the previous Challenge (29%)
Gauntlet 3 had 9 out of 33 people that were on the previous Challenge (27%)
The Island had 8 out of 20 people that were on the previous Challenge (40%)
Duel 2 had 6 out of 28 people that were on the previous Challenge (21%)
The Ruins had 9 out of 28 people that were on the previous Challenge (31%)
Fresh Meat 2 had 6 out of 13 alumni that were on the previous Challenge (46%)
Cutthroat had 10 out of 30 people that were on the previous Challenge (33%)
Rivals had 12 out of 29 people that were on the previous Challenge (41%)
Battle of the Exes had 14 out of 26 people that were on the previous Challenge (54%)
Battle of the Seasons had 6 out of 32 people that were on the previous Challenge (19%)
Rivals 2 had 16 out of 33 people that were on the previous Challenge (48%)
Free Agents has 16 out of 28 people that were on the previous Challenge (57%)
You can definitely see it's gone up, with Free Agents being the highest ever...
From the Battle of the Sexes 2 until Rivals 2 (discounting the Island) the winners of the final have been on the winning team for the first challenge only 7/19 times (15 shows, + guy/girl pairs on Duel 1/2, Rivals 1/2). Teams that won the first challenge and went on to win it all:
Rivals 2: Paula/Emily
Battle of the Exes: Johnny/Camila
Ruins: Champions
Duel 2: Evan
Inferno 3: Bad *****
Gauntlet 2: Rookies
Battle of the Sexes: Men
Stat improves if Bananas, CT, Johnny R., Laurel, Devyn, or Nany win Free Agents. Stat gets worse if Cara, Theresa, Zach or Leroy wins.
The numbers are better for the last challenge as the winners of the last challenge have won the final 11/19 times.
Rivals 2 - CT/Wes
Rivals - Paula/Ev
Ruins - Champions
Duel 2 - Evan and Rachel
Gauntlet 3 - Rookies
Inferno 3- Bad *****
Duel - Wes and Jodi
Gauntlet 2 - Rookies
Inferno 2 - Good Guys
