I guess I'm one of the ones ok with the gimmick. I think It needed something new since they obviously refuse to cast "real" people.
Whichever mod was changing the name of this thread to Real World: Ex-plosion must have been laughing their *** off the entire time
Ex-plosion has to be the cheesiest thing they could've come up with. I do like the format change though... the real world really needed one. You think they still have the ability to cast a normal season of 7 strangers and somehow get viewers to watch... 3 seasons tried and failed... it isn't working. They had a gem with Dustin, but that was about it. San Diego rode on the coattails of LV2... by the end of that season ppl had gone back to hating it. Had this been a normal 7 member cast... it would've been just another *********** season... and it would have no season 30 renewal. We already know the cast got along for the first month... which makes for boring TV. Some of you guys really just need to let it go.. give this new format a chance to spice things up. Don't make such strong judgements before we've even seen anything... we've gotten a bit of the twist and an initial cast pic. That's all. If thats all you can handle, fine, by all means dont watch. But I know for one, this will cause a stir in the MTV public as It's different... it's new... its not the average RW season. I may hate the new name, but i'm at least going to give it a chance.
Am I the only one that sees the name as a way to grab the attention of the casual viewer. Just about every knows this show was "The Real World: [ENTER CITY]" if they hear this new name they might give it some attention.
Of course it'll garner attention: its stupid as hell.
It didnt just mention SD, it also mentioned that STT & Portland didnt bring in the ratings wanted. MTV producers are high off of NOLA & Vegas ratings, when really NOLA and Vegas shouldnt even be taken into consideration. The ratings are literally just outliers with how high they are compared to all other seasons in the past 4 years... Take them out of the equation and they all average about the same numbers.
People fail to realize that had Dustin not been gay B2LV would've flopped too.
I don't understand how people think the new format isn't even The Real World. I like the idea of them enhancing the format now because it has that potential to bring back the real in reality. I don't want to continue to watch seven strangers fabricate drama for TV which is what we've been getting the last few seasons. With this format the roommates will be showing real emotions being that they are around their Exes and depending on how the relationship ended. I also think we'll get their real personalities because if they try to act different for TV I'm sure their Exes will call them out.
Witty, you absolutely can't be serious?
People fail to realize that had Dustin not been gay B2LV would've flopped too.
And some people fail to realize that Dustin wasnt the only one on the season. Why would it have flopped had dustin not been cast? Just cause he had a gay prn past doesnt mean that made the ratings so high...
And some people fail to realize that Dustin wasnt the only one on the season. Why would it have flopped had dustin not been cast? Just cause he had a gay prn past doesnt mean that made the ratings so high...
The highest rated episode the season was when Dustin gay **** past was revealed...He sure brought the buzz the show need it. But the other roomates also helped to mantained it, the thing I remember the most is Nany admitting she was physically abuse by a guy before and her dad storyline. Every single roommate brought something to the table that season.
People fail to realize that had Dustin not been gay B2LV would've flopped too.
I disagree from Brooklyn to Portland was the most entertaining in my opinion and the only one I felt like every roomate got camera time and a storyline...We got to know a lot about their backgrounds.
Ashley is going to become an outcast before leaving the house.
Next season will be The Real World: Rivals. Their worst enemies will move in with them.
The Next season - The Real World: Parental Control 7 roommates move in and then a month later, their parents move in as well.
Witty, you absolutely can't be serious?
I am. I honestly thought I was going to hate this season but they have won me over with the idea!
The Next season - The Real World: Parental Control 7 roommates move in and then a month later, their parents move in as well.
Please - don't give BMP any ideas.
This is a great idea. The real world hasn't been a change for social injustice in years. That being said I really think this new real world will bring the ratings. They needed to do something..... This is it.
A little fact about all the couples is that all of them having on/off for atleast 3 years and in Hailey/Thomas/Cory/Lauren Paige it looks like they started dating since high school...
The Next season - The Real World: Parental Control 7 roommates move in and then a month later, their parents move in as well.
The Real World: Parental Control...redefining the meaning of **** Now that I think of it, I hope MTV isn't reading this and scheming up ways to make this work.
I hate to offend my race but if they want a good show put 4 or 5 blacks in one house that need to be there next twist and I guarantee they will get great ratings
I hate to offend my race but if they want a good show put 4 or 5 blacks in one house that need to be there next twist and I guarantee they will get great ratings
You mean like Dave Chapelle's Real World?
You mean like Dave Chapelle's Real World? The Mad Real World - Introduction - Video Clip | Comedy Central
LMAO I remember this.
I hate to offend my race but if they want a good show put 4 or 5 blacks in one house that need to be there next twist and I guarantee they will get great ratings
Not just Black people. They also need a real tough Italian and maybe a Colombian.
I really believe if they put more blacks it might get the show back on top.. College hill, love and hip hop, basketball wives, Im not saying ALL black people are crazy but they do make good Tv and bring drama(Nia moore, latoya, devyn, coral, leroy, marlon, ty ruff lol, etc) I really think john murray is OVERTHINKING this
Not just Black people. They also need a real tough Italian and maybe a Colombian.
Well, Cory's ex is Venezuelan which are really similar Colombians.
I think the love triangle this season is either: 1. Jenna with Cory and Brian 2. Thomas with Hailey and Jamie
I wonder did Coral visit the cast because almost all of them including the Exes are following her on Twitter.
She probably hosted already filmed aftershows
She probably hosted already filmed aftershows
I don't think the aftershows have been done yet. They haven't even mentioned how to get the tickets to it and everyone has been home since filming ceased.
maybe the real world will sieze the opportunity to do what the attempted Canadian Jersey Shore (Lake Shore) tried to do a few years ago... make a cast of 7 or 8 people all from different ethnic backgrounds and watch the racial drama ensue... oh man that was bad. Thank god it was cancelled before the cast started filming.
I think the love triangle this season is either: 1. Jenna with Cory and Brian 2. Thomas with Hailey and Jamie
Not surprised at number 1 though.
College Hill?
uh no thats BET. He means even on mtv...
