Hafner, professional divisional rivalries aside, the Angels are the ones you want to cheer for tonight.
I can't root against the Rays but instead I want Texas or Oakland to start losing games. Unfortunately it will have to be Texas right now cause the A's play 4 against Houston.
I have no idea how this game will turn out, but I no longer tune out with this team. Damn. Grand slam to tie it up.
I've come to the conclusion that Red Sox and Yankee fans can never agree, even with our close proximity and similar regional values. Yankee fans at Yankee stadium are booing their own player, Joba the Hut and I am cheering him on. Go figure.
I'm just happy the DBacks are still in it in the NL. Goldy and Prado have been leading the way with Corbin controlling the mound.

It seems he's held a last place roster together with chewing gum and bailing wire.

That said, Farrell has it locked up if the Sox complete the AL East worst to first transition.
Wow...Tampa Bay is pulling a "Texas Rangers". They are in a nose dive.
Wow...Tampa Bay is pulling a "Texas Rangers". They are in a nose dive.
I think you mean they are pulling a "Boston Red Sox 2011". :)

I have nothing but the utmost respect for this man and the game he played. Seeing Petite and Jeter pull him brought tears to my eyes. You will be missed Mo. Exit Sandman.
Last day of the season is going to be exciting. 3 teams battling for 2 playoff spots. If Tampa Bay and Texas win with Cleveland losing, we will have 3 play in games.
Won't happen though. Cleveland will roll against Minnesota and host the Wild Card game. I do think we will have a one game playoff between Tampa Bay and Texas though.
As a Red Sox fan, I'd be all for a 3 way cage match to the death.
No 3 way cage match but we will have a 163rd game.
Watching David Price breakdown on twitter was...priceless. I had no idea what a spoiled, narcissistic, classless guy he was until after the beating he took on Saturday. I guess being schooled in front of a full house at Fenway during a playoff game brings out the worst in people.
On paper, the Tigers v. Red Sox is a very close matchup: Of course, in my infinitely unbiased opinion I think the Sox have the intangibles and are a team of destiny. :D

Congrats to Joe West and the Detroit Tigers on last night's win.
Congrats to Joe West and the Detroit Tigers on last night's win.
That strike zone was weird last night, I'll give you that.
Let's be realistic though.. Joe West was not the reason the Red Sox lost yesterday. Sanchez is a scrub pitcher who can't throw into the strike zone to save his life, and our guys merely forgot how to play major league level ball and instead were chopping away at crap in the dirt all night.
Let's be realistic though.. Joe West was not the reason the Red Sox lost yesterday.
While West did change the entire dynamic of the game by making the strike zone for Red Sox players the size of a Buick and sneezing a go around, in the end Jhonny "I'm totally f****** juicing now" Peralta was the difference and that's that.
Actually (in contract to the juice speak), the funny part is that all the hits that inning were hit too meekly to make plays which is why they got the run. The shallow hit to center dropping in front of Ellsbury, and the soft hit to Pedey which led to Drew not turning the double play.

Congratulations to Joe Buck and the Boston Red Sox on winning game 2.

PED users decided both games of the series. All is fair.
I'm not familiar with any current players in the Red Sox organization who have officially failed a drug test or been suspended, but I don't really follow baseball...
You don't have to fail a drug test and be suspended to be a steroid user. Jhonny Peralta never failed a drug test, and Alex Rodriguez failed as many as David Ortiz.
Jhonny Peralta never failed a drug test
You can whine and cry all you want about Ortiz, but the reality is he has not been suspended for PEDs. Jhonny "Juice Master" Peralta took a 50 game suspension this season for PEDs without appeal. That's a straightforward admission of guilt. There is no debate. He's a cheater.
