Can you be any more specific? A Google search of "Dustin Zito production (or producers) Battle of the Sexes" yields pretty much no relevant results. :( In other news, I did find out about his recent arrest and this statement: "Zito allegedly told the officers that 'the female victim should be thankful that he reached up her dress since he is a TV star and several girls wish for that to happen to them.' " I have no words...
Cara Maria said on her Formspring that "some bad things happened off camera with production while [she] was there..... [Alton and Dustin] were not very well behaved children.... so.... i hope that's true."
I'm assuming the two who have jobs are Laurel and Landon, as well as possibly Ashlee. Dustin is rumored to not be welcome back, as well as Alton. We all know the last one is Derrick. V1, I'm curious who you are referring to with Duel storylines. Not that I don't agree, but I'm interested in your opinion.
I was only commenting on the guys. Landon and Frank *original vegas* have real careers -- not just "jobs" Derrick was obvious. Only by cast rumor do I believe that Dustin exhibited unacceptably aggressive behavior toward a female BMP employee; and, for legal reasons (not wanting to be sued by said employee), he won't be welcome again. I'll just mention one unresolved story line -- Svetlana/Beth from Duel 1. It's been on MTV's list for a long time. The Beth/Tina conflict is another that could be considered if BMP properly negotiates the legal issues. I'm going to hijack this subject for some info I've wanted to add regarding viewers/ratings from the "old school" era.
The full season of The Duel was seen by 83 million viewers. It was also ranked #1 for its time period of Thursdays 10pm – 10:30pm among 12-34 years olds on cable. The finale of this Real World Road Rules Challenge The Duel on Thursday January 18th was #1 for ages 12-34 at the 8pm – 11pm timeslot on cable having a 3.04 rating. As a further note MTV.com received its highest day of streams in its history on January 18th after The Duel’s finale, only trailing the 2006 VMAs, as it recorded 2 million streams for The Duel content. 1.3 million streams to the MTV online reunion special alone.
When one thinks about casting (even in a fantasy thread), I'd argue that the iconic figures who brought in viewers deserve more consideration than a bunch of annoying new kids whose narcissism delivers nothing.
When one thinks about casting (even in a fantasy thread), I'd argue that the iconic figures who brought in viewers deserve more consideration than a bunch of annoying new kids whose narcissism delivers nothing.
Most of the girls who were iconic on the first Duel have stated they're done with challenges. The only ones I can see returning are Beth, Casey, Aneesa, and Paula. Only two out of the four I mentioned were stars that season. As much as I would love to see that happen I have a hard time believing it will. Production stopped caring years ago about cast.

I know that Rachel, Veronica and Tina would do one, too, if production again became reasonable and accommodating, or, if has been raised recently on twitter, if there were a union for reality actors.
Yeah I completely forgot Beth may be willing to do one so I would probably put her on this list and it would be awesome if Svetlana came back.
Let's hope BMP are smart about the next challenge, assuming it's going to be a Duel 3. I don't understand why they don't listen to what the viewers and cast members are saying.
Let's hope BMP are smart about the next challenge, assuming it's going to be a Duel 3.
Don't hope for Duel 3, because constant chatter among cast and crew has been that if it's Duel 3, then that marks the end of the series.
Is that the only format you can see those cast members coming back and participating in?
Is that the only format you can see those cast members coming back and participating in?
No, they all might return for other formats, but, again, the fundamental conditions must change.

I mean I like the Old-school cast members as much as everyone else does but we need to give these new kids a chance..they aren't that bad.

I'll rip him or her to shreds as worthwhile TV personalities. Most of them make Robin look like a genius.
Most of them make Robin look like a genius.
Time out--exaggeration
Time out--exaggeration
No, it's hyperbole. :very_drunk:

I feel like I should see/They should use these people on various challenges Devyn,J.D,C.J,Jasmin,Jonna,Knight,Jemmye,Adam,Dustin,Nany,Naomi,Frank,Zach,and Trey maybe Ayiiia,Robb,Sarah,Leroy,Cooke but honestly no one else from the newbie circle. They should also put a new group of FM2 regulars CM,Carley,Sandy,Laurel/Theresa,Luke,Vinny/Pete/Noor. I'm actually hoping for a reworked Island with Newbies cause I think it will be great.

As for an Island 2, I'm not sure BMP could get anyone other the reason RW season people to do it, if word leaked about the format. The Island cast have rated it the worst conditions of any challenge.
I think the new regulars of the show out of the newbies will be Knight,Dustin,Robb,Trey,Zach,Jordan... Frank has stated numerous times that he probably would just do one more and be done for good.He said he doesn't want to be 30 and doing challenges. Girls wise Jemmye,Nany,Cooke... and did anyone else know/notice that Jasmine has been on every challenge since her debut on Rivals.

I don't think we will be seeing much of him anymore. Or at all.

Perhaps because of my personal association with the Brooklyn cast, I consider them old, sort of like myself.

I heard about that but I think it's BS.
I heard about that but I think it's BS.
And just why do you think this when there are multiple independent sources for it?
Don't hope for Duel 3, because constant chatter among cast and crew has been that if it's Duel 3, then that marks the end of the series.
What would make people think that? Sure the duel is by far the pinnacle of all challenge formats but just because its the best of the best doesn't mean the challenge would end, I mean it still continued after the Duel 2. Its not like the be all end all. If anything the success of a Duel 3 should make them want to renew the challenge again.

If anything the success of a Duel 3 would make them want to renew the challenge again.
Why? Because that is what I was told by more than one source. First it was leaks from inside MTV that there was a big fight at a meeting to discuss what eventually became Rivals II. Some people wanted to do Duel 3 and a couple of veteran people walked out in part because they believed there would not be another challenge after Duel 3. Eventually they all agreed to a Rivals format, keeping things alive for another day. Then, there were links I was sent pointing me toward the new direction brought to MTV by Susanne Daniels who in one interview with The Hollywood Reporter said this:
THR: What's the big question you're asking yourself there? Daniels: Where does The Real World go? Can I evolve the Real World at this point? The ratings are a little soft on that show. Is it a new show and what is that new show? What is the next evolution of Real World? That felt like breakthrough television when it started, much like Cops did. Those are the beginnings of brand new genres on TV.
Given that MTV has always said (and reaffirmed after the end of Road Rules) that there was a clear nexus between RW and the Challenges, I think reasonable people with industry experience can project that the new MTV Programming President's look into the network's future does not necessarily include the Challenges and RW. Then there are a bunch of cast members who have said the same thing the future of the Challenges: grim.

Seems like a nice even number
So essentially just end Real World on 30 seasons and The Challenge on 25 seasons. Seems like a nice even number
I certainly hope not, but this was the chatter I was hearing just before the start of Rivals II a few weeks ago. The decent ratings for the challenge make the decision a little more difficult--I hope, but it's hard to know all the pressures that are on the execs who make the recommendation or on the actual decision-maker.
