Russell Westbrook is garbage...with Sefolosha, Ibaka, and Perkins being so limited offensively, the Thunder need a point guard that can create easy scoring opportunities for them. That is Rondo's specialty. Westbrook will just play hood ball and dribble the shot clock down every possession looking to score himself and if he absolutely can't get anything, then he gives the ball up to Durant. Durant's scoring ability is so ridiculous that they can get by most teams with that approach but it'll never win them a title.
While Rondo and Westbrook are two of the biggest punks in the league, I would much rather have Rondo in terms of his overall skill set at the point guard position.

I'm happy. Hopefully this will help Kobe get his sixth. Bad investment for the Suns though. They basically got four second round picks. Crossing finger for Howard!
This sucks, I love Nash but how can I root for him now when he's on the Lakers and I'm a Kings fan? haha, but seriously I did want Nash to win a championship and now I'm not so sure. Nash, Bryant, Barnes/Peace, Gasol, Bynum is a pretty intimidating lineup.

Loving where we stand! After getting Jamison, noe the door closing on Howard!

The problem is still Bynum. Orlando won't trade for him if they don't think he will sign a long term extension.

The trade doesn't consist of Bynum going to Orlando. Maybe you should make your time more valuable..

There are a multitude of trade possibilities. The fact that Dwight is now willing to sign an extension with the Lakers doesn't change anything. The Lakers were always going to pursue Howard regardless of whether or not he wanted to be traded there or not because they felt that they could convince him to resign once he got there. The problem is and has always been Bynum with a potential LA-Orlando trade. When you get a 3rd team involved, it makes a trade even more difficult because you have to get all 3 sides to agree. A trade where both sides agree is hard enough in the NBA already.
The magic aren't gonna trade Howard and only get Anderson varejo back as the best player. I think the lakers magic and rockets do a 3 team trade with howard and some of the magics contracts to the lakers, gasol to the rockets, and bynum Kevin Martin and some of the rockets young guys to the magic
The lakers aren't giving up Gasol & Bynum. Right now the trade sends Bynum to Cleveland, Howard to Lakers & a buncha draft picks to Orlando plus probably Varajeo & McRoberts + a bunch of cash. Follow the analyst on twitter they tweet the updates 24/7.
I know what the proposed trade is bro and Im telling u it's not gonna happen. And don't act like I dont know what I'm talking about i probably have more basketball knowledge in my left pinky than you do in your whole body. And the analysts have been wrong about every other Howard trade so what makes you so sure this ones gonna happen
My pinkie is bigger than your pinkie. Are you willing to share your secrets as to how to obtain and store knowledge in your left pinky finger? If Howard actually stays in Orlando to start the season, it will definitely be interesting.
Since the NBA thread is closed, I'll post it here.

Face!
Wow. I hate the Lakers, but they have to be the best-run franchise in any American pro sport in the last 40 years. They have managed to acquire three HOF/potential HOF centers in that time span for absolute peanuts. And twice they have stolen them from Orlando!

Orlandos GM and management should be fired, but I'll applaud them with a grin.
Orlando not getting Pau or Bynum is just stupid. I understand that they want to tank but they could have traded with Houston and gotten young assets while tanking. I guess they thought the players from Houston would be too good to get them the #1 pick.
That's the understatement of the year! For blank's sake, Philly and Denver made out way better in this deal than Orlando. And if the Magic are doing this for "tanking reasons" then why have a franchise...unless it's to serve as the defacto feeder system for the Lakers (wouldn't put this past Stern FYI)
Blockbuster Trade in the NBA tonight

Houston finally got their star player. It is time to see if Harden can produce as the main guy on a team every night.
If the Rockets suck, how the hell are they gonna last as a franchise considering all of the money they've spent this off season?
They shed a ton of money so they can spend a ton of money. I actually think their salary figure will be lower this year than last year.

The only people they're really paying are Lin, Asik, and now Harden. Everyone else on their team is either on rookie contracts or vet minimum.
I tuned in for the fourth quarter of game three last night. Talk about a brutal beat down!
The vast contingent of "Anyone But The Heat" fans out there in America are walking with an extra spring in their step this morning...

Game 6 was unbelievable and we can only hope that game 7 is equally exciting. My only worry is that both teams physically exhausted themselves too much in Game 6 and we get sloppy basketball tonight.
As much as I hate the Spurs, since they are one of the two main rivals for the Suns, I am pulling for them to win over the Heat. The Spurs, particularly Popovich who is not only coach but also the GM, built their team up and did not try to buy it in a Big 3 statement.

Feels a lot like he is going to follow a similar career path of Brandon Roy, but with more unrealized potential.
