I don't think they hate him so much, more so the fact they would never reward the character he played.
Whereas Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter was a good guy. :wink2:
Whereas Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter was a good guy. :wink2:
That is the first one that came to my mind when I read the previous comment. Plenty of disgusting and evil characters have been portrayed phenomenally. That's what makes it so phenomenal. When someone can make evil like that believable.. that, my dear, is something.
Yay! Girls won. Don Cheadle Won. I wasn't digging this before but now I am.
Yeah I know, it's just wishful thinking from my part. It's going to go down in the Harry Potter route, and not get recognized by the academy. As long as they avoid the "razzies" I'm happy.
Why would you want HP to be nominated? That was straight garbage. I'm glad it was ignored, not to mention a complete joke whereas The Hunger Games has a real life underlying vibe about it. Jodie's montage was amazing. I didn't know she did all those movies. I still gotta see Flightplan.
I love you Jodie. Gay or straight been saying for years it's a privacy thing not something any and everybody has to know about. And that speech was amazing. Some of the people crying I can't recognize. I recognize, Zoey Deschannel, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfriend but some the last one with the tissues, escapes me.

Anyway, just because a movie isn't nominated for a Best Picture Oscar doesn't mean it's a ****ty movie or in your words, garbage. It was never ignored, but it never won because there were always clearly better made movies that fit the Oscar voters demographic way more than a fantasy film about a boy wizard. If you watch the Oscars over the years, there really isn't a fantasy film that has quite captured the Oscar voters attention , minus Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. But as for the Golden Globes...I'm very impressed this year at all the people that won and normally they would predict what would most likely happen at the Academy Awards, but with some of the categories going to someone other than what was expected (at the Globes) or to two people nominated in the same category at the Oscars, I cannot wait to see the outcome. Jennifer Lawrence or Jessica Chastain (both winning tonight at the Globes), I want to know who wins now! Going to be a great year. And Ben Affleck winning Best Director = AMAZING. And Les Mis and Argo winning, I am shocked, but I'm happy.

One of the first times ever that I'm happy with ALL of the Golden Globe winners. Very happy for Les Mis gang, Jackman, Hathaway, etc. but also would have been OK with Silver Linings Playbook and Bradley Cooper taking some trophies home. SO HAPPY that Ben Affleck won Best Director and that Argo won Best Picture. All Ben had to do for his acceptance speech was walk up to the microphone and say, "Hey members of the Academy, Argo ***** yourselves" followed by a mic drop.

Would have topped any other Golden Globe moment in the past few years.
Saw Zero Dark Thirty tonight. Very good - but I don't think it's the best I've seen this year. I thought Lincoln, Argo, Silver Linings Playbook and Les Mis were all better films. But...Jessica Chastain...wow...I'd love for her to win the Oscar. If anyone aside from her or Jennifer Lawrence win it I will be pissed.
I"m calling it now. Dicaprio is going to streak across stage during the Best Actor presentation, wearing nothing but gold body paint and a bald cap; yelling "I don't need your stupid Oscar!! I am my own Oscar!!"
Has Kristin Chenoweth been fasting since New Years? Yikes. Not to mention it looks like she did double duty in the spray tan booth. Watching this Red Carpet interview I'm afraid Adele just might eat her.
Well, my girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence continues. She looks fantastic.
Well, my girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence continues. She looks fantastic.
I agree, she looks amazing. As much as I love Anne Hathaway, I am not a fan of the dress.
I agree, she looks amazing. As much as I love Anne Hathaway, I am not a fan of the dress.
It looks like a prom dress from the late 90s.
ABC seems to be able to bring on the most awkward moments possible. It is kind of funny. Surprisingly, E! runs a much smoother operation and they are televised gossip rag!
I already feel guilty about my Kristin Chenoweth slight. I am a fan! I only think that she should stick to acting. :D
Agreed. The necklace is pretty though.
Seth Macfarlane is hilarious, but the attendees are not his audience.
We saw your *****.
We saw your **********] The looks are so cold, its funny.
Seth=best host
The looks are so cold, its funny.
I'm really enjoying him thus far.
If Channing is going to keep his pants on... I'm going to go grab a soda. boring.
Christoph Waltz has a story that keeps getting better.
Christoph Waltz has a story that keeps getting better.
He was so incredible in Django. Glad to see him rewarded. But holy cow, what a stacked category.
Hey, I actually saw Paperman! Thought it was really good.

I really wanted to see Life of Pi before the Oscars. It's gotta be first on my list.
