I think it's funny in Fresh Meat 2 people were complaining about too much Kenny, too much Wes, too much Paula and so on. Now that there's no of that(besides Wes), everyone hates it. Not to mention it seemed like when Molds posted the cast for this season it seemed like people nearly wet themselves with excitement for this cast. Not to mention the drama this season in the trailers. Just because one challenge was thrown doesn't set the standard to expect this season(I hope).
Not everyone cares about drama and I still felt there needed to be a better mix of rookies & newbies from day one.
15 (I think) of the cast members those that only watch the challenges had no idea who they were while another 5 (again I think) had only done 1 challenge. That's about 20 (since I may have missed someone) of 32. That doesn't work for me, hopefully things improve.
I agree completely.
People that are saying "I'm not watching this show ever again!" It's the second episode, give it more of a chance!
There are only 10 episodes, it's just like any other show you watch 2 episodes and if you don't like it you quit watching it, why would should they give it more than that?

What annoyed you about the first episode?
Also, aren't there 12 episodes this season?
I do agree this episode was poor but there's always at least one poor episdoe
Height played a huge part. Zach isn't that much taller than Dustin, so I'm not surprised that Dustin was able to hold his own to some degree.
It was all the oil. If things aren't slippery, Zach lifts Dustin out of there. Zach for sure has 50lbs or so on Dustin.
It's interesting from an analysis standpoint that beyond all the fights that occurred on each season in The Real World house, the RW teams are able to communicate and are a better team than Fresh Meat. It shows how far teamwork can go in this game, especially since Fresh Meat are the most seasoned team on the show with 3/4 actually making it to a final challenge before.
This episode wasn't bad, but I don't think this one will keep any of the new viewers of the show watching - especially after what looked like a physical/entertaining challenge was essentially turned into a Round Robin Pattycake tournament.
While Trey isn't my favorite person by any means, you definitely can respect a man holding his ground while everyone else is caving to remain on the show.
With two more elimination types to be previewed, and it being strategy and mental - I don't see Fresh Meat lasting much longer, since they still have no clear advantage in the eliminations and at this point it's just easier to throw them in than cause any sort of outside chaos.
After reading the posts in this thread it seems like I'm the only person who liked this episode and I love the fact these rookies wised up and decided to band together to take out the vets. The whole rookie vs vets theme has been going on since the beginning and this is the 1st time the rookies are getting the job done.

No doubt the oil was a factor. Wrestling around in that would tire anyone out (particularly if you're heavy) pretty fast. I wouldn't say Zach has 50lbs over Dustin. I'm thinking more like 25-30lbs at most).

They're getting the job done because the odds are overwhelmingly in their favor.

No way Dustin weighs over 200 pounds. And Zach is close to 240.
I wonder if the producers had a moment when watching the challenge go down and thought "Wow...we came up with some ******** rules" They made it complicated for absolutely no reason and allowed this dumb **** to happen.
Should've just had it tournament style and had Cancun set up the match ups. If two teams went 2-2 they have a sudden death. To find out the losing team the four teams that lost first have another mini tournament, the two teams that lose in the first round of that one face off, then that loser goes in.
They're getting the job done because the odds are overwhelmingly in their favor.
And unlike past rookies these rookies are mostly former College athletes and have shown up here in shape and ready to compete. It's true they have the numbers unlike past challenges but these new kids look legit and can hold their own.

I'm not saying Dustin weighs over 200lbs., I just don't think Zach weighs that much. I have a friend who honestly could be Zach's twin (and is Polish too) and he doesn't weigh 240lbs..
For those wondering why Frank has all this power. I heard somewhere that he has scored higher than any RW cast member in history on his IQ test. They went on to say how intelligent he is. I will guess that he's a very smart guy and he apparently good at swaying people because he is just taken the position of leader. Seems like the Franks are the ones you always got to watch out for.

The order immediately determined who won this challenge, once they used their brain.

True, but drama plays a big part in this type of show. It's not a typical athletic show, it's a mix of that plus the interaction, hookups, fights, drinking, etc.
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE watching the elimination rounds, and the games they play and the voting conversations since it makes it like a game show.

Zach is for sure 230-240, Dustin is probably 185 at the most. Zach should have just grabbed Dustin's arm or leg and touched the outside with it instead of getting into a wrestling match. I'm not sure on Zach's cardio or how athletic he is, all I see is a big guy.
Like if Zach went against a guy like Alton, I could see Alton winning.

Alton lost to Preston, who's like the skinniest guy there.

I really want to know if this is true or not. On last week's challenge he said, in order to balance the beam, that Zach (the heavier of the two by a long-shot) should stay back while he came forward. Last I checked the best way to counter something heavy isn't to slide more weight towards it.
Clearly Middlebury isn't producing many engineers.

But that wasn't a real wresting match. It was part of the montage of them throwing games or fake wrestling.

Was it? I could've sworn it was part of the montage with people actually winning, you are probably right though, my bad.

I agree completely. I would have loved to see a straight-up tournament of some sort where the previous power team could have made the match ups. At least there would still be some influence by the team of power without having teams throwing matches to completely guarantee their alliance safety. However, it does leave the issue of having a female and male winner and establishing how the new power team would be picked.
Even the elimination challenge was flawed in design. At first glance it does look like an endurance test, having to push the balls back and forth for 5 minutes (but to be honest, 5 minutes is not that bad.) However, it doesn't take that much effort to think of holding the balls on one side and waiting for the last few seconds to throw them across. While video editing did make it look like they were running the whole five minutes, none of them really looked that tired, especially for the elimination testing endurance. Even Melinda tweeted that they had waited for the last 30 seconds to start pushing the balls.
Overall, the episode really left me with a bad taste in my mouth. While having alliances are fine, the way the challenge this week played out really made me smh.
I'm in the minority, but I somewhat enjoy Frank. Two episodes in a row where fresh meat is on the line is good for me. The wrestling disapoointed, but I am still loving this season. Bummed that Danny & Melinda went so fast. I woulda liked to see them work together a bit more. Hate, HATE fresh meat.
They could of at least started off with all the girls going in paired heats to determine who would get to pick the order instead of saying, "Hey Ashley and Jasmine, who happen to be in the same alliance. Duke it out to see who gets to pick the order for the rest of the challenge!"
I think MTV sees Frank as a perfect villian, thinking he's a great love-to-hate character. They don't realize he's not an Omarosa, he's just hate-able and not fun to watch. He's bad TV and people will and have turn(ed) off their TVs to not watch him.
this right here. I think they're making a mistake. They should have gotten the hint when SD2 had horrible ratings that, that dude does not make good tv. He's a channel changer to me. If he doesn't go home withing the next 4 episode, I might just stop watching.
