They both sucked as judges. Steven was funny durning auditions, but that's it. For the life of me I can't get why the producers would even want her back, it's not like she's a huge star anymore
Steven was awesome in season 10, but brought nothing to the table for season 11.
JLo I'm not sad to see leave. I also heard Randy might leave as well.
I have no idea who Jerry Lewis is, and if Charlie Sheen is a judge I would not watch at all, not even to see how he does or how the dynamic of the show changes.
Can they just kill the show already? I don't say this much, but it's really gotten old. They should honestly just let X-Factor take over (even though I don't watch that anymore). It ran 11 Seasons, that's really enough.

If I remember correctly, Jerry Lewis played Munch's psychotic uncle in an episode of 2006-07 season of SVU. I know he also does some benefit hotlines for kids and thats pretty much it.

A very old comedian who made a ton of B&W buddy comedy type movies with a guy named Dean Martin followed by hosting an annual telethon for kids with either MS or MD I think for decades. I think it was/is called the March of Dimes Telethon. Not sure if it still exists.
I think the producers just have no idea what to do with this show anymore. To me, it doesn't matter who they bring in to be judges, it's really about the contestants. And it's either the contestants are bad, or America just has horrible taste in music.
I liked it best with Paula, Simon and Randy.
I liked it best with Paula, Simon and Randy.
I'm pretty sure that would be almost anyone's answer. It's been going downhill since Simon left the show. You can't beat the original of anything.
I actually thought season 10 was the best season.
Simon was good to tell his honest opinion, but his opinion had not value behind it because he didnt know anything about music. What he had going for him was that he was brutally honest. And if you go back and watch the previous seasons half the time he really had no idea what he was talking about, he was just there to be obnoxious and rude. It's a great gimmick for reality television purposes, but if we are going by what you guys are saying and wanting....which is more about the contestants and less about the judges, then the ideal judge would NOT be Simon Cowell.
I thought season 10 was so good because the contestants were great singers, and the 3 judges (Randy, Jennifer, Steven) admitted that they were not looking for personalities or characters, they were looking for singers. And that is what I think the show should be about. They strayed off that for season 11. They overpraised too much. They did everything overboard with season 11 and it sucked because of it. Steven looked bored, and JLo wanted it to be all about her.
Kara was actually a good judge to have, but everyone hated her. Ellen was a terrible person to have as a judge.
I personally cannot stand Mariah Carey, and I think her music is beyond terrible. I think there were a bunch of other stars that could have been better suited for a judges seat, she is going to be just like JLo imho.
What they needed to do was find 3 judges that know things about music, that are not afraid to give their opinions about what these singers should be doing or how they did. And they need to focus the competition on the singers/competitors and not the judges. They also need to focus on the best performers and not the best characters. Characters are good for reality television, but as Carrie Underwood has proved, in the long run it isnt about your tv personality its about your voice.
They should have picked Sean Combs, Gwen Stefani and and Tommy Lee. Pop, Rock and Rap, tell it like it is/well-known artists that will pick the best of the best.

Not even remotely true.
I'm even more done with Idol than I ever was. Not a fan at all of where the show keeps going. Mariah? Really? No thanks.
What's the matter with Mariah? Or do we need somebody like Ellen, lol?

I think in most cases, unless it's Big Brother, then it's most definitely true.
And I'm just not a huge Mariah fan. I like her music, sure, but her, not much. I didn't like Ellen on the show either. It took me ages to grow to like Steven and JLo, and even now I'm still not the biggest fans.
LMAO Well
1) I doubt he's making any money out of it, considering he doesn't own the song or the master, maybe if he's lucky he get's a few hundreds for the song placement.
2) I actually really like that song (as much as I try to hate it)
3) Jessica Sanchez is booked for more events so she is obviously making more money.
4) Jessica hasn't released an official single, give it time, it will be a hit ;)
Sorry for going out of topic, but either way, it's awesome seeing the USA Women Gymnastic team dominate! I regret spoiling myself in the last hour or 2 :(....will focus myself in not looking at any spoilers tomorrow!
I'm pretty sure he at least gets performance royalties for being the artist. That's all I wanted to point out. And I said he was making more as a joke. I honestly don't care about Jessica and whatever she's doing.

I loved Ellen on the show.. I thought she was great.
Also, I am going to watch just for Mariah this season. I'm a big fan of her music. I am interested to see how she will be as a judge. She has such enormous talent. I think it will be refreshing to hear her thoughts on the contestants. No one sings like that woman.. and this is a singing competition. I think she's definitely the best option.
Snoop Lion aka Snoop Dog (LOL) wants to join American Idol

I haven't watch a full season since Season 2 or 3 but If Mariah Carey (Queen of Shade) , Charlie Sheen and Snoop Lion are the judging panel I would love to see that.

They just have no idea what to do with this show anymore. To me it's more about the contestants, but it seems like no matter who the judges are, America (or rather AI voters, aka 12 year old girls) just seem to keep picking WGWGs who are nowhere near as talented as Kelly Clarkson. This show is just a joke now.

**** at Nicki Minaj being a judge, that's ******* hilarious! And I can't believe all the Mariah shade, she's the most qualified judge they've probably ever had considering she's actually a great singer.

Maybe to you but Mariah is "not the best they've had." Besides her last two album I fell she is kinda sorry. She's ok at best. I just want her to have better music.
Keith is so lame. I wanted it to be Randy, Enrique, Nicki and Mariah.
