I have no idea who Keith Urban is. And I kinda feel bad for Randy because surely he must be getting bored of this job by now.
She's ok at best? Please tell me five females who have a better voice.
1.Christina Aguilera 2.Celine Dion 3.Cher 4.Kelly Clarkson 5.Carrie Underwood I could name more but then we would start getting into preference. Whereas these 5 women, I believe, are technically way better singers than Mariah.

She has a soul that Celine Dion, Kelly, Carrie or Cher cannot match. Christina Aguilera definitely has that soul aspect to her voice though.
Maybe to you but Mariah is "not the best they've had." Besides her last two album I fell she is kinda sorry. She's ok at best. I just want her to have better music. Keith is so lame. I wanted it to be Randy, Enrique, Nicki and Mariah.
Mariah is definitely more qualified than J.Lo, Paula Abdul, Ellen, Simon, Randy, Steven Tyler though. She's a great singer, period.
Just because she is a great singer doesn't mean that she will be good at this. She is way to much of a diva. She was hired based on drama not because of her voice.

They are too generic, they have only one range in their voice.
Here's a random thought and it's probably been discussed before but why haven't they had real singers, not amateurs for a season. Wouldn't it be crazy to get the best artists in the world and have them sing different genres they normally would never try? This could be like music's version of the heavyweight belt. I don't even know who my fantasy cast would be because music is such garbage right now, but I would really like to see someone like Kid Cudi or even Drake get a chance. American Idol's biggest problem (besides the fact that they don't get standout singers anymore and the judges suck) is that they never have people who sing a different genre other than pop, soft-core rock, or country. I'm not saying they should have rappers on the show, but I think it would have been really interesting to have people like drizzy or cudder on the show who could sing and rap a bit also, although I don't know how they would do on Elvis week. But I guess the bigger idea in this extemely long post that no one is probably reading is if I were FOX I would make the next season so that they have 12 real singers with different genre weeks and the winner gets something like $5 million dollars for charity. Did I just save this show or am I crazy? And high?
Mariah is definitely more qualified than J.Lo, Paula Abdul, Ellen, Simon, Randy, Steven Tyler though. She's a great singer, period.
Say what now? I see if you say Randy or even Ellen. The rest of it, No.
Did anyone see that video? Nicki went crazy on Mariah.
Did anyone see that video? Nicki went crazy on Mariah.
This popped up on my news feed. Apparently, Mariah keeps interrupting Nicki's critic and saying stuff like "Well, she's not even a singer so.." I find it funny that they don't get along, seeing that they have a song together. What were the producers expecting when they picked a woman with a song called "You a Stupid Hoe"? I'm team Nicki.

No If anyone honestly thinks Mariah is not one of the best 5 female vocalists of all time, I would seriously question whether they were born with a pair of working ears.
It stars today! This will actually be my first full season of American idol. I've decided to jump on the train because I've been really enjoying music competition shows lately and I like the news hosts. Who else will be tuning in?

I will not be watching, nor DVRing, like previous seasons. I'm now 100% certain I can go without this reality show in my life.
way to make an entrance. Mike was awesome but you are never supposed to sing on AI unless the judge's give you a go ahead.
Not even 20 mins in and you can already Nicki wanting to drag Mariah across the room.
I never realized how annoying Mariah was. Not sure if I will be able to watch.
The exploitation and humiliation of a 15 year old child. So glad American Idol is back.
Here we go, the obligatory WGWTG, SMH. Isabelle was amazing. But when she mentioned the weight dedication at the end struck me as odd because she's very curvy and sexy to me.

Very surprised with Nicki. I'm not her biggest fan, but she is a really good Judge and is coming off like she genuinely cares.
Very surprised with Nicki. I'm not her biggest fan, but she is a really good Judge and is coming off like she genuinely cares.
I was going to say the same thing! I am pleasantly surprised by Nicki's role as a judge.
Damn straight. I love Nicki too. But the last girl she was harsh too.
Finally Nicki bought to light the singing on the train shtick we have here in New York.
Damn straight. I love Nicki too. But the last girl she was harsh too.
Ehh I think she has found the perfect balance of kindness/honesty/passion.
Nicki has been a great judge so far. She's on par with Demi imo.
