Damn straight. Moving on now FG episode last night was nice but American Dad was funnier.
That describes every animation domination weekend for me.
Same! And if you count all the HGTV or documentary type shows it gets even worse.
I used to live and breathe that station but they stopped showing the landscaping-garden stuff and lost me. I now have to get my dirt fix from Saturday PBS shows.
I beg to differ. That show had no clear direction from beginning to end. I can get into strange, but not pointless strange for the sake of being strange.
Not a big Twin Peaks fan? :D
That was part of the point though. I think most people just needed to get through Season 1. It was way better after that, even in its strange direction.
I would disagree. After watching the series through twice, I can say that the first season is the best one. Started slowly getting worse for me after that (even though it was still amazing).
It's funny to see how many shows try to become the new Lost. It's impossible so they might as well not even try. I definitely got that vibe from The River and we all know how that turned out.

I've seen it quite a few times. I'm not saying Season 1 was bad, because it wasn't, just not my favorite. I love the entire series, even the ****ty ending.
And I was going to give The River a shot, but definitely not anymore.

The River wasn't terrible, but not amazing either. Plus, it's canceled now.
As for Lost's ending - I think I might be the only one in the world that was totally satisfied haha.
I was thinking about watching episodes of Lost because everyone and their mothers raved about the series. But I saw the Simpsons' parody (Stranded) and their ending ruined the ending of the original series...So now...I am not sure about catching up on the series when my plate clears up.
Do the 2 endings share any similarities?

You should give it a go anyway. I never saw the parody, so I can't really compare the two.
What do you guys think of GCB?
I really love Kristin Chenoweth, but I didn't really see this show lasting at all. Not shocked it got the boot.

People swear by lost, so maybe I will watch it when I am at the gym or something like that when things aren't so crazy for me.

She was amazing on Pushing Daisies...another great show that shouldn't have been cancelled so early.
Still awaiting a decision on Rules of Engagement, even though CBS has already announced its schedule. I wll be curious to see if it survives again as a mid-season replacement.
Has anyone here watched Being Erica? I know it's slightly off-topic, since it's a Canadian show and seems to be already cancelled. But I very much enjoyed the first season, then lost track of it, and would really be interested if anyone else here liked it and whether the ending of the series was somewhat satisfying?
Looks like I'm the only one, but I'm bummed The Secret Circle got cancelled! :( I feel like it was getting much better towards the end of the season. I'm also sad about Terra Nova, I was really digging that show!
At least Once Upon a Time got renewed. I absolutely love that show, I think it is amazing!!!
Go on staring Mathew Perry was picked up.
John Cho is in it it too
I wonder if the show will last more than a season. Matthew Perry doesn't exactly have the best track record (aside from Friends) when it comes to primetime TV.
I'm really excited for Nashville on ABC in the fall.
I don't really know whether to be excited or not. I'm stoked that they filmed in and around Nashville, but this show will probably be too "country" for my liking.

I'm not a fan of country music and don't like singing shows - so Nashville was instantly on my "I will never watch, ever" list.

I basically just want to watch the first couple to see how they portray Nashville, but only because I live here and know where they filmed :)
I was hoping that Nashville would be good but it looks like a catty chick show, so I won't be watching (not that you would ever know that ABC was in my lineup since I cannot recall the last time I saw 10 seconds of their programming).

Hmm...some people are saying that this would be the life of Chandler if Monica died. Interesting...
My hang up is I am not sure how this premise can be stretched to beyond 1 season. But I am rooting for the show because Perry and John Cho are hilarious.

I just recently got into country music, but I'm a huge Connie Britton fan.

I am not sure how a comedy can be premised on your wife dying to begin with. Thing is, Matthew Perry wasn't even that big of the star of Friends, so I am not sure how he has managed to create the persona of greatness he has.

They were making a million dollars an episode by season 9 and 10. How is Mathew Perry not a big star?
lol, I have 69 posts.

He was a big star, but everything he has done since has been less than noteworthy. I did like Studio 60, but it wasn't pulling in the ratings.
I think you have 70 posts.

Darn. I saw 69. True story.
Maybe someone hacked my account. :naughty:
Well, number of post count aside, it doesn't distract from my point that Perry was a big star on Friends.
True, his latest work isn't his best, but I still will watch his shows. And John Cho just sweetens the deal.

If I recall what I read correctly, the lead cast had a pact from the very beginning that they would all be paid the same and there would no "star" among them and they stuck to that until the end. By the time they were making millions per episode, Jennifer Anniston was THE girl on TV and was thereafter in the tabloids with Brad Pitt every week.

Hasn't that been that way for 2 years? Some of it was very boring.
