That seems weird to me the contract is only due for 27 seasons.
Makes for Spring Break events maybe and it seems like several people who audition for RW get called back for other shows so it is more like a gateway.
That seems weird to me the contract is only due for 27 seasons.
I could be wrong, but I thought it was contracted through 28.

No, you're right:
Any tips on what they are looking for this season?

“We look for characters from real life; people with strong personalities who are unafraid to speak their minds,” executive producer Jonathan Murray said in a statement.
Casting folks stressed that they aren’t looking for any particular type, just people with “a great personality and a willingness to share their life with the world. Most of all, we are looking for surprising and unusual life stories that have yet to be told on television.” They do say they want people “who appear to be between the ages of 20 and 24.”

Looks like there either trying to produce this season really fast and get the contract up or they just want two seasons this year, hmm
Hmmm indeed...
Looks like there is new requirements you have to be 21 by March 1st,2013 in order to apply...Which might mean next season starts filming next year...Hmmm

A little into what they are looking for
The show is looking for individuals who have been living with challenges that affect their everyday lives such as weight issues, alternative religions, home schooling, foster care, disasters or tragedy, subcultures or any other cause, condition, or social issue they are personally affected by and want to bring to the spotlight on “The Real World”. The show is particularly interested in people who have had to work harder than most to support themselves and move on with their lives.
Here are some really good tips for auditions.
-Be brash, loud, arrogant, assuming, or make poor decisions. Then, if you get cast, be unbelievably nice in every way. Do all the dishes and agree with everyone. Apologize constantly.
-Laugh without smiling.
-Talk about your love for music - that will confuse people from MTV.
-Say you have a boyfriend/girlfriend back home but you're not really sure where you guys are at and you're hoping that this experience helps to add clarity to your situation.
-Flirt outrageously with every single person at the audition. Crew, producers, other auditioners, whatever. Outrageously. Like you're actually angry about it.
-Emulate whoever you said your heroes are. To a T.
-Say you hate being around gay and/or black people.
-Show up with a "Santorum 2012" button and a sweater vest.
-Shoot an arrow at the judges and say "thank you for your consideration". Say nothing else.
-Pretend to be a prudish Mormon who is bi-curious.
-Be an absolute mess.
-Say something ignorant about a well-known culture.
-Cry all the time.
-Get naked for no reason.
-Speak in third person at all times.
-Defend Chris Brown; say "Rihanna had it coming".
-Claim to be the second coming of Jesus.
-Wear a suit and tie. Bring a resume.
-Wear bunny ears constantly. Even in the shower.
-Speak only in memes.
-Pretend you have voice immodulation, like Pete Sampras.
-Show up disheveled and completely crazy looking; be "the most awkward and disgusting participant ever" (says the user who used to work for MTV)
Oh, and some guy named Bronne said this:
I started off the same way. Went to a casting call as a joke with a buddy of mine, listed a couple of stupid stuff and got the call back. Couple of interviews and three months later and I was on a plane to Mexico.
My number one tip for you would be to BE YOURSELF and NOT CARE. Getting picked for the Real World is 100% like picking up a girl. If you overthink it and stress out about the 'right answer,' they will see right through you.
Weird. I feel like someone here has said something like that before.
Can people apply on the Real World thru Skype? I think Dustin did it thru Skype if so How?
Based on the sum total of his scattered comments, I think Dustin had a contact with BMP who got him in the door which resulted in the skype interview. I assume if you send your stuff in and they really are interested they might if you are President Obama's illegitimate child, a **** star, a cloned sheep, or something totally off the radar. Jon Murray indicated they get over 1000 applicants for every finalist and even then they always have an eye out for folks who do not come from the regular casting process. I assumed from his facial expressions/body language he was not particularly thrilled with the pool of people who tend to show up to these open call castings which makes me wonder if MTV forces them on them for the PR.
I applied drunk online and got sent a VIP pass to a casting call in Nashville. I'm not
really sure what I said, but I'm sure the fact the I got kicked out of the Marines for my pattern of misconduct and scandalous behavioir had something to do with it. Wish me luck!

Good luck! Although, I don't think it was a bright idea posting about it here, or anywhere on the web, for that matter.
I'm confused. How is it that there are auditions on the same date but in different locations?
Because there is more than one person on the casting team.
Because there is more than one person on the casting team.
I always thought it was like two people but I guess I am wrong. Oh well.
I always thought it was like two people but I guess I am wrong. Oh well.
This things are as much a RW/MTV PR tour as anything else. I think they usually have a few at each spot from what I read and sometimes some RW alums as sort of host/hostesses.

It is a big enough office that Bunim Murray has a Senior VP Casting and BMP Films.

Thanks guys I think that is awesome that they do that instead of relying on one.
I have never been so disappointed in the people they have picked in the past 3 seasons. It is getting less "real" and more scripted every season. 26 was terrible, those I've seen at casting calls for 28 are no better. Let's hope 27 is a good season, otherwise there won't be much to hope for after season 28.

I need the show to last to be taping after August 2015. I really wanna be on...but sadly I don't turn 21 until then.

At your age, you should be focusing on college. Then decide if you want to do something like this at 21. I'm beginning to think that production turns away from any candidates that make them feel unaccomplished or superior. Their whole description of what they are looking for every season is simply a gimmick to get you interested in auditioning. They want the public's attention. They go for a certain type of look and just mold the story they want you to have.
I've been through this process enough to see both the good and bad side of it.
What happens after you fill out the 60 something question application after the group audition? They call you that day within hours or wait til the next day?

I don't plan on going to college...maybe a 2 year school at best. My current situation makes going to college really difficult.
I definitely do have a unique story that hasn't really been told on the show...some people may say I've been through a lot.
