You dont find her talking in slang to go with it, racist? When Ty does not even talk like that.
Cant excuse **** like that.
I feel like she would know better than us how Ty speaks.
Shouldn't Emily know everything is racist nowadays? I was expecting something a lot more over the top for everyone to be so "offended". Ty that is not the most racist thing you've ever seen, well I hope it is then you're pretty sheltered.
Seriously? That's a pretty offensive thing to say. Blackface has and always will be racist.
I don't find what Emily did with the chocolate to be that racist at all. And I'm black. In fact, I lol'd at first.
It comes down to the history of blackface used in minstrel and vaudeville. While she might have thought her actions were comedic, deference needs to be paid to the scope of that behavior and what its initial focus was about (i.e. the proliferation of racist stereotypes.)
There is a reason it is taboo.
I understand why Ty is mad, but wanting to leave over it? I just think that's a tad harsh on his partner, even if she was the one to initiate this argument.

I didn't even notice it at first to begin with. I've witnessed more racially-offensive things in my life, so what Emily did (Which was innocent and it was all in good fun) in my opinion wasn't that serious. However, Ty's a whole different person, so I can understand why he'd be offended.
I feel like she would know better than us how Ty speaks.
Get out of here, We never or rarely hear Ty talk "ghetto" like Emily was doing.
The history of blackface makes that very offensive. Not a smart move. Emily should have never listened to Camilla. She probably knows nothing about the racial troubles in America's past.
Seriously? That's a pretty offensive thing to say. Blackface has and always will be racist.
That is the problem with the world. Something like that shouldn't be racist. It wasn't racist when Camila went whiteface. It is just her trying to look like another person.
Ty, Emily could have dropped an N Bomb, and I would not just toss a bunch of money out the window...
Also, Johnny/Camila want Ty/Emily to stay because they're next up for Dome Couple
Dont ignore that she was also talking in a urban slang, Ty does not talk that way. That what made it worse.
That was really uncalled for though.
There is no way Emily has never heard of blackface.
I've never heard of it either. I suppose I should probably google it. :acute:
Judging by the time looks like the dome is going to be postponed to next week.
But I think Johnny saying Jungle Fever is most racist than what Emily did. But neither are racist to me.
Offtopic: Anyone think Ty is a huge Butterface? Or at the least buttermouth(The gap in his teeth annoys the hell out of me).
Emily never heard of Black face? LOL you people are gonna believe that lie she just said? That why she was questioning doing it before she walked out. She knew.
I'd like to take this moment to point out that this is not the first time a castmember has dressed in blackface. Isaac did it on Duel 2.
This is true. I remember that and thinking it wasn't funny to me but it was messed up then and it was messed up now.
That's stereotyping, not racism. I didn't even notice it at first to begin with. I've witnessed more racially-offensive things in my life, so what Emily did (Which was innocent and it was all in good fun) in my opinion wasn't that serious. While people can racial stereotype and not actually hate the people they are stereotyping, stereotyping does damage and offend and is related to racism, or at least negative thoughts.
There is no way Emily has never heard of blackface.
If she says she hasn't, she probably hasn't. I know about it a little, but I don't really know about it in depth. I think tons of people probably don't know much about the topic.
That is the problem with the world. Something like that shouldn't be racist. It wasn't racist when Camila went whiteface. It is just her trying to look like another person.
No...just no.
That is the problem with the world. Something like that shouldn't be racist. It wasn't racist when Camila went whiteface. It is just her trying to look like another person.
YES! A lot of racism would be gone if people would stop being sensitive and saying everything is racist.
Get out of here, We never or rarely hear Ty talk "ghetto" like Emily was doing.
I didn't say we did, but she was sleeping with the guy and probably knows him better than we do is all. The only thing I can even remember Ty doing from past seasons, is gassing out, toss plants, and taunt Adam. I didnt watch DC, so idk.
Also, assuming that saying "Son" is just a black thing is presumptuous in itself. Dustin and Brad do it all the time.
Ty likes to get drunk and hit people. But he's so offended by this incident that he's going home. Why didn't he send himself home on the real world dc after he hit Emily, or send himself home from the Challenge after he threw a bunk bed on top of Emily. He is a drama queen.
YES! A lot of racism would be gone if people would stop being sensitive and saying everything is racist.
Or maybe racism would be gone if people would stop being racist.
People who don't see the big deal don't know the historical significance of blackface and aren't educated about this. It doesn't matter whether the intentions were good or bad, it will always be offensive and racist .
I didn't say we did, but she was sleeping with the guy and probably knows him better than we do is all. The only thing I can even remember Ty doing from past seasons, is gassing out, toss plants, and taunt Adam. I didnt watch DC, so idk.

Its not presumptuous when the intent of what you are trying to impersonate is clear,
So based on time it looks like we'll see who CT & Diem pick to face Ty & Emily and then next week we'll see that elimination round, then TJ will tell the cast they're going to Iceland, a Challenge, and the last Dome match up.
