New York and Tennessee are both split on "very confident" and "not confident", while Kentucky is overwhelmingly "very confident".
Kentucky fans are ridiculously crazy when it comes to basketball. Sure, they have some right to be because they always produce a good team, but to me it's overkill (mainly because over half my friends are Kentucky fans and I'm tired of hearing about it).
There is no clear-cut favorite this year. Kentucky is delusional.
UK is looking pretty dominant...Anthony Davis is a freak of nature...but it doesn't matter who the favorite is or if there is one or isn't one. Just like in most sports, the "best" team is usually not the team that wins it all in the end. Last year in CBB was a perfect example. I think your Ohio St. team and Kansas was actually the best teams in the nation last year...and neither one of them got to the Final 4. It's all about who is the hottest come March. All of the Final 4 teams last year were ridiculously on fire and on big winning streaks. I think UK, UNC, Ohio St., and Syracuse (If they get Fab Melo back) are easily good enough teams to get to the Final 4 but there will probably be another Butler or VCU type team there again this year..an unknown team that's just completely playing out of their minds.
Plus, IDK if I like my UK team getting the overall no.1 seed this year...heck, the last two years (that I can remember) the top 2 no.1 seeds have gotten screwed over by the selection committee...they gotta set that thing up for a Duke cakewalk...
Kentucky's the only true really good team this year so it's understandable. The other high ranked teams either have a few losses to random teams or haven't played anyone that great.
Yes, Kentucky at this point deserves its #1 ranking but I haven't seen any team this year stand out as the clear "best team" in the nation. It's been going in spurts.
Definitely a big win for Michigan tonight.
OSU has to get their **** together. They've been playing like garbage for the past two weeks. Won't even make it to the Sweet 16 playing like this. I'm shocked we were even within 5 at the end of that game.

Yes, especially since they still have Wisco and have to go to EL to play MSU. MSU has to close out their schedule at Indiana and OSU. Michigan's last four aren't nearly as tough as OSU and MSU, but we do have three road games, including one at NW who we barely beat at home.
Should be a tight battle heading into the B1G tournament.
EDIT: ESPN Bracketology currently has MSU and OSU as 2 seeds and Michigan as a 3 seed (!!). I know that stuff changes and isn't really accurate, but that's really good. I think if either MSU or OSU can run the table and the B1G tournament, they might take a 1 seed from one of the teams in the Big 12 (Kansas or Missouri).
Big win for the Wolverines tonight. Great for the resume.
Huge win for the Wolverines. I'm glad Thad Matta didn't offer Trey Burke, he has been our best player all year.
Credit where credit is due...Congrats, UT and Cuonzo Martin...If someone would have told me that Tennessee would finish the SEC at 10-6, get an SECT 1st round bye, work their way back to an 18-13 record, and have a chance to make the NCAAT back in January, right after their atrocious non-conference performance, I would have laughed in their face.

I probably could have told you that :D
I'm just going to hope that both Michigan State and Ohio State come down with some sort of major flu that does not allow them to field an entire team and results in both teams forfeiting.

Especially because that game could endanger an on time TAR tonight!
Especially because that game could endanger an on time TAR tonight!
fab and I were just talking and I thought it would be laughable that the last minute would take more than 12 minutes.
15 minutes later...the game is over and my boys are partial B1G champs! Woo!!
I hate Ohio anything especially Ohio State but putting a fraction of a second on the clock should be illegal.
Hate seems to be a strong word here. Not really sure what Ohio did to you to make you so bitter. But regardless, I'm sure all of Ohio dislikes whatever team you follow anyway.
Go Bucks!

Took your boys long enough to get going today! I was worried for a little bit.
YOU were worried? I was throwing things (but that's not anything new....my living room has been a wreck after their last couple of games).
That may have been the LONGEST one second in the history of college basketball. Also, I must say, it is impossible to catch the in-bounds pass and call a timeout in less than 1 second (which MSU managed to do). They, in fact, only took 3 TENTHS of a second off to call a timeout. I was impressed (eye-roll).

It took at least twelve minutes.
At least your basketball team didn't finish like your hockey team...too soon?

Spent way too much time bored to death in Shaker Heights, and I'd say that all of Ohio looks down on everything not Ohio, so you are probably right about that. As for basketball, I root for pretty much anybody in the ACC.

Go Raiders go!
I'm not sure all of Ohio looks down on everything not Ohio. There are a few places I've had the..."pleasure"...of visiting and they have nothing to look down on.
With that being said, I generally root against OSU until tournament/bowl time.

Agree with you on hating Ohio State, don't hate all of Ohio considering I live there. Yesterday was the first time in my life I ever wanted OSU to win a game and it was painful to cheer for them but it helped Michigan get a share of the Big Ten title so I can forgive myself.
I don't buy the logic that Kentucky is an "undisputed best team", and there's been many a year where that consensus team gets knocked out. Most recent example I can think of was Kansas back in 2009, they got done in by Northern Iowa in the 2nd Round.
Anyway, is there a pool linked to this forum for this year? I'd like to join.

There will be once the brackets come out.

Who's been saying UK is the "undisputed best team" ? All I hear is UNC this and Duke that...The truth is, if you don't get Anthony Davis in serious foul trouble or injure him, then UK will beat you..and that goes for every team in the country. Last year UK was a final 4 team with Josh Harrellson and Deandre Liggins and now replace them with possibly the top 2 draft picks in Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and add a much better 7th man (Kyle Wiltjer) than what they had last year with Eloy Vargas (Who is down right atrocious) and I see no reason this UK team shouldn't get to at least the Final 4. Then add to the fact they got Final 4 experience from last year with Terrence Jones, Darius Miller, and Doron Lamb and this UK team is pretty scary...
I won the vevmo league last year right??? hahaha. What 2 teams do you guys think will be in the finals of March Madness without knowing the divisions. I think that the 2 teams that I can see in the finals are UNC and Syracuse.

Except they also lost Brandon Knight, who was a tank in the last 4 games of march madness (games against OSU, UCONN and WVU) averaging almost 20 ppg, 5 rpg, 4 apg, and 1.5 spg.
Kentucky is still amazing though. I just feel like, since they're the favorite, they won't win.

Very good point, but Teague is still pretty good...he's not as flashy and athletic as John Wall or as good of shooter as Brandon Knight but he's leading the team just as good as those two guys did. I do kinda hope UK gets beat in the SECT this weekend because if they don't, that means they would have won 31 straight games if they win the Championship....that's pretty difficult and the odds of any team doing that has to be pretty low....unless we're talking about women's College basketball...I think (hope) it's time for the favorite to win the NCAAT...when was the last time the favorite won it all ? I guess UNC in 08 I think it was ?
