It doesn't look like the Panthers really showed up at the Garden tonight...
The best goal of the night:
Ahh! Amazing! Moments like that just reassure me that I wasn't crazy for shelling out the bucks to see them when they come to Cali.
Anyone else watching the Winter Classic game? I love outdoor hockey!
Anyone else watching the Winter Classic game? I love outdoor hockey!
Not against this college football lineup. Plus, two teams I have absolutely no interest in versus four teams in my conference. Easy decision.
Haha, I have no interest in the college football teams (minus the Rose Bowl game) so it was pretty easy for me too.
I'm flipping between hockey and football. Looking forward to the Rose bowl.
I thought the winter classic was awesome... Tho the officating was pathetic... they were def looking for OT... I can't wait to see the finale of 24/7 this week...
NHL All-Star Game -- four Ottawa Senators, one Toronto Maple Leaf, one Boston Bruin So a marginal playoff team (Senators) and the 10th best team in the East (Toronto) have 5 of the 6 starting players on the ice. What a joke.
The B's have out scored their opponents 17-0 at home over the last two games. Not bad. Oh, and they lead the NHL in goals scored and the fewest goals against because of some standouts... ...and yet not one player in the top 20 point totals. Clearly the Bruins are a great team with probably the two best goalies in the league. I still do hold out hope that Patrice Bergeron can make a run at the Art Ross.
17 straight home wins, finally a regulation win, and the top record in hockey. Feels good... I will admit though, I am disappointed to see we don't play Boston for the rest of the (regular) season. At least we won the one time we did ;)
and the top record in hockey
...after 48 games. We still have two more games to make that one point up in the overall standings as do the Rangers. That said, your guys are playing very well! ;)
...after 48 games. We still have two more games to make that one point up in the overall standings as do the Rangers. With that being said, the Eastern Conference, as a whole, is much stronger than the Western Conference.
I wish Crosby and Staal were healthy again. That being said, Evgeni Malkin is beasting (knock on wood). He needs to continue if the Pens were to make a Cup run!! I have a newfound admiration for Tim Thomas as well because he chose to not attend the White House visit. I don't agree with his choice but I appreciate that he chose if that makes sense at all.
I have a newfound admiration for Tim Thomas as well because he chose to not attend the White House visit. I don't agree with his choice but I appreciate that he chose if that makes sense at all.
I'm not sure I would pass up a chance to visit the White House as it's definitely not something people generally get to do, but every person is entitled to their personal opinions and at least he took a stand. It is kind of humorous, as he was the only American on that Stanley Cup.
I have a newfound admiration for Tim Thomas as well because he chose to not attend the White House visit. I don't agree with his choice but I appreciate that he chose if that makes sense at all.
He took what was a traditional team event to visit the White House as a champion and turned it into a Tim Thomas political statement forwarding a Tim Thomas agenda. I personally find it disappointing as well as embarrassing to the Bruins team and organization. Hopefully it doesn't effect the team behind the scenes.
The streak is alive!
The streak is alive!
Meanwhile, Tim Thomas is spending all his time on facebook spouting off crazy **** (e.g. women having access to contraception is just like mass genocide in **** Germany) while the Bruins continue in a downward spiral on the verge of total collapse.
Hopefully it doesn't effect the team behind the scenes.
It looks like the results are in... It is shockingly sad how this guy went from hero and toast of the town, to absolute clown in less than a month. TT needs to get his focus back to hockey ASAP or the Bruins season is all but done.
Future NHLer, perhaps? High School Hockey Player Scores Absolutely Filthy Shorthanded Goal
Future NHLer, perhaps? High School Hockey Player Scores Absolutely Filthy Shorthanded Goal
That is nice. My high school coach would have been furious if one of us tried to pull that in a game.
Nice play! I still think the 9 year old wins best "lacrosse type shot" that I have seen.
One more win for the home win streak record!
Congrats to the wings I thought we were gonna win on Sunday but it just wasn't to be. They deserve the record all to themselves.
Datsyuk is just unbelievable.
Lots of important games going on right now. Part of me hopes that the Wings lose and Nashville wins so we get the 6 seed...I'd much rather play Phoenix than Nashville right now.
Gahhhh I am so mad. We were so close to losing that game!!
PS: Did anyone see the 3rd goal BC scored tonight on their way to another national championship? It was pretty.

What Weber did was disgusting and intentional. That type of play does not belong in the league and, being a captain, Weber should know better than anyone.
I was shocked Weber didn't get suspended. He should have gotten at least 2 games.
Oh, and then there's this. Andrei Kostitsyn and Shea Weber Mock Zetterberg Head Smash « Hockey World Blog
