The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I'm new here so i don't know if this videos could be post it here, sorry if i'm doing anything wrong, but here is the video from the other preview!!
Thank you for this. I live in Canada so I can't see any previews on the main MTV site. The challenges look sick. They look a lot better than what they had for Rivals which I felt were pretty mediocre. The face-offs has 10x the intensity too with Abram yelling at whoever, Wes vs LeRoy. Also, it looks like Abram and CT went to the reverse aging program that Mark goes to. They both look like they are in their prime Inferno 2 days.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
From what we have heard it seems like the prize money will go: First place:$150,000/$75,000 a person Second Place: $100,000/$50,000 a person Third Place: $50,000/25,000 a person
Where did you get that from? Seems odd - usually there is a large gap between first place and runner-up. Doesn't seem like too much of an incentive to win if you still get $50K for coming in second place.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I believe that makes more cense if gonna be this way: - 1st place: 200.000 - 100.000 per person. - 2nd place: 70,000 - 35,000 per person. - 3rd place: 30,000 - 15,000 per person.

I am not sure why people are trying to guess the money break down though.
Heather and Dustin broke up? Abe and Cara Maria broke up? since when?
Dustin and Heather just moved in with each other in New Jersey, so they do not fit with the Exes theme as well as others. No clue about Abram and Cara Marie.

Anyone notice that at 0:57 seconds, CT and Johnny are being playful with each other? I don't wanna jump to conclusions and say they were in an alliance together, but it does seem like they get along well, at least to some point.

As good as CT is, he hasn't won yet, so he'd be a litle more willing to comproise himself to get to the end. CT has taken this path before, Gauntlet 3, which would up costing him the victory. He aligned himselves with Evan and Kenny, and because they were all afraid of Big Easy in a Force Field or Ankle Breaker gauntlet. Again with Diem as the poision and a clinger oner, I could easily see her and CT coersing themselvings into an alliance. Diem has always had influence to CT's ability to play the game. Additionally, why not work with people you know you'd smoke in a Final As for Abram yelling stay down.... it makes no sense for him to yell that at Ty unless it was a 2 of 3..... i think he may have been yelling that to Cara Maria as she was going against Emily. Furthermore, because the stick is a crossbar, I could see it being two individual rounds and a 3rd round with both couples fighting over the stick. As I said before, Ty probably saw quite a few elimination rounds.............. which looks like they were 10 total.

Last season we were able to see pics of the rivals house, I have no idea how molds or whoever found it but if it's possible can we see some pics of the new house too? :)

Odds are he's going to be the power couple in most challenges meaning hed get to pick who goes in. The next strongest male competitor is Mark but Robin is horrible. This is the challenge where CT will have a huge edge and probably run the show. If anyone's wondering why Wes goes in so often at the beginning I'd guess this has something to do with it too. I might have to eat these words later on, but I doubt it.

No doubt if CT doesn't win this then there will be no more of this "he got screwed a bunch of times" excuse. Without a doubt CT/Diem are probably the strongest team, even on Rivals him/Adam were winning most of the challenges and that was men vs men. And not to sound rude to Adam but I think him and Diem are almost the same athletically. I think Wes goes in a lot because his team sucks, Jenn/Mandi didnt win any challenges on Rivals and Wes/Mandi couldnt win anything on FM2. But he wasn't put in against strong females so I'm going to guess he chose his first opponent on the first elimination, also Wes and Diem are friends so they may help him if he was last, but I'm going to guess he was put into the 2nd one, because of him yelling about Karma. But then again I would probably choose Leroy/Naomi over Tyrie/Jasmine because Tyrie is bigger.
I also have a feeling that BMP is testing CT in a way, last 2 challenges they put his two most strenuous pasts as his partners.
Well, he learned to get along with Adam, and from what it appears in the trailer where he and Diem are joking around it looks like they are getting along, but we'll see. Also, on the topic of him and Johnny fist-bumping, I think maybe Johnny realized that CT has actually changed and he isn't putting on some act. I think CT's "evil" problem NOW mostly comes from the fact that his extreme Boston accent mixed with a smoking voice sounds scary, oh and the fact that he is like 240 pounds of 2 percent body fat.
They only won 2 challenges towards the beginning of the season. Johnny & Tyler won 3 (excluding the Final Challenge).
True, but if we were going to really get into it, I would bet they won the 1st challenge (because theres no way Leroy/Adam jumped further and it looked like CT/Adam went further on tv and some of the cast said it was fishy also) And on the last challenge they went 1st and it was clearly unfair to CT, so after him they made the helicopter go a bit higher. But anyways there is no denying that they dominated most of that challenge.
Heather and Dustin broke up? When I had an opportunity to talk to her in Vegas in September, 2011, she explained to me then that the two were not a couple, but that he was very good at doing something she enjoyed. Feel free to use your imagination.
So he must be good at underwater basket weaving. I knew it!
Thank you for this :) Judging from the trailers, there would appear to be much more drama surrounding Cara Maria and Abram than any other team of contenders. Also, it looks like Abram lost the weight he had gained in Cutthroat. Maybe the Abram of old is back...
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Abram [strike]didint[/strike] didn't look like he gained weight on CutThroat and if he did, it [strike]didint[/strike] didn't affect his performance.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Abram didint look like he gained weight on CutThroat and if he did it didint effect his performance.
He didn't gain much, but he mentioned on his Formspring that he was at 190 on Cutthroat, and that was as much as he ever weighed. He was by no means a fatty, but he was definitely bigger. I do not believe it was a detriment to his performance by any means. Just observing that he looks lighter than he did on Cutthroat :)
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Well we know the total prize money is 300,000 and in one of the trailers someone talks about working hard for 150,000; so it stands to reason that the winning pair would receive 150,000 leaving the other 150,000 to be split between the two remaining pairs in the final.
Or it can be reasoned that first place wins 150,000 each (300,000 together) and everyone else gets nothing. Just stating possibilities, but someone DID talk about winning 150,000. SO it could go either way really. I think everything would be a bit more "Cut throat" if only first place won the money, cuz then the same alliances might be broken up since they may not even want their "friends" in the finals to actually be competition.
He didn't gain much, but he mentioned on his Formspring that he was at 190 on Cutthroat, and that was as much as he ever weighed. A team in purple and 2 huge swinging logs. That's the best I know of how to explain it, but I can definitely see from the eliminations, that anyone can win, despite being an all-girl pair.

Since there hasn't been third place money, maybe there is now no second place money and it is winners get $150K each and others get a set of Beats by Dr. Dre and some Subway coupons :) There are so many ways the money could be dished out there really isn't much to hang your hat on at this point.

Priscilla appears to be the one who messes up in the 2nd promo. Can't say I mind her going home though after seeing that completely oblivious smile on her face in that promo at the beginning.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I'm seeing hints in the trailer of Matt Kunitz' hand in the elimination rounds. For those who don't know the name, Matt got his start working on the challenges at BMP/MTV and went on to create and produce both Fear Factor and Wipeout. Matt is a master at creating interesting competitions. He keeps in touch with a few of the old school cast I know. We've suggested that for fun he do one Wipeout show using former reality stars (by "fun", I mean that the winner's $50,000 prize go to a charity of the winner's choice).

Lol they should do that, not many people can eat something nasty and that could be something the lil guy can be good at. Also I didnt realize how messed up Cara/Abram's relationship was, I thought they got back together after rivals and stayed together but apparently they came into this fighting, came out as a couple? and I guess dont talk anymore. And I thought CT/Diem would be the most awkward but Cara and Abram might be also. Lol apparently thats why Abram looked pissed in the photos, he really does and he doesnt even try to hide it. Also I'm surprised he doesnt have any scars on his face after getting burned.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Cara Maria & Abram are all about the phony drama to draw attention to themselves...guarantee 90% of their interaction this season will be nothing more than a desperate charade to gain camera time for themselves. Cara Maria can cry all she wants about what Wes did to her last season but if it weren't for Wes, she may as well have been wallpaper on Rivals and she knows it. She openly complained about lack of camera time on Rivals on her FormSpring when that season was airing so I'm sure her and Abram went in there with an elaborate little plan to have as many fake, planned out fights as possible so that she could actually get the airtime she craves so badly.

I mean Wes does it too but he don't constantly complain and whine about people not liking him once the season is over. He knows how he comes off to people and just takes the attention for what it is. Cara Maria seem to be so desperate for people to like her (fans + cast members).

This is turning into another Cara Maria witch hunt rather than speculation. Let's try not to do that again please.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Let's talk about Leroy. In the promo recently posted we could see that he was in an elimination round wrestling with a stick with someone who appeared to be either Wes or Nate based on body, skin tone and team color. Can anybody tell which guy? I'm guessing Wes. In which case, although I'm sad that Leroy doesn't make it to the end this time, I will be very happy that I atleast get to see him take out Wes in an elimination round! I'm a big Leroy fan, I'm sorry.

Just thought I'd express how I dislike the title, I wish it was just "The Challenge: Exes".

I wonder if Rachel/Aneesa were put in. I'm surprised as of how well they did considering being the obvious underdog pair in my opinion.
I wonder if rachel/aneesa were put in. Im surprised as of how well they did considering being the obvious underdog pair in my opinion.
See I don't consider them underdogs at all. In a team, you are only as strong as your weakest member and I would say a majority of people would consider Aneesa the weaker of the two and she usually does very well in elimination rounds, so I'm sure they could handle themselves. The only thing I can think of that would be pretty much a done deal they go home is the pole wrestle (Leroy/Naomi vs. Wes/Mandi) or a sumo type of elimination. Other than that any other elimination in the past is more of a chance type of game.
